hello!

I've got a sudden influx of new folks here lately, and it's occurred to me that it might be useful to have an intro post kicking around.

Hi! I'm Kay! I own a suit of armor and some swords and sometimes I express thoughts in funny ways. Also I'm queer. (There, that has to have covered every possible reason you could've found this blog.)

Other stuff you might find interesting:

I'm on tiktok and instagram as kaythebold. I'm a lot more active on this platform than either of those tbh but sometimes tiktok gets low-effort videos I don't share here, and instagram gets more of my photoshoots.

I've done some voice acting! I'm the recurring voice up top at the Keep It Steady podcast, a sweet and lovely queer high school rom com that's currently airing, and I voiced Ingra in season one of Spirit Box Radio. (I also had a teeny cameo on The Starship Iris, one of my fav sci-fi pods!)

My sword practice is HEMA, or historical european martial arts, and my Big Sword Practice is montante, which is the Iberian term for what in other contexts is called a greatsword or zweihander!

I'm a larper, which combines my loves of collaborative storytelling, costuming, and getting to make Weird But Specific props.

My partner and I just bought a house (terrifying!) and now we get to decorate it (exciting!) so I've never posted any home decor stuff here but I might in the future?? My explicit goal for my home office is "wizard tower" so let's hoping I can live up to the hype.

I am not great at answering asks due to a classic case of "compose reply in brain, fail to ever type or send reply" but I really enjoy interacting with folks on here and please trust that if you've sent me something, or tagged me in something you thought I'd like, I did see it and appreciate it :)
