Josh's goal is to become one of the Knights that protect the Sacred Kingdom of Dema. Being from a Settlement just North of the City Wall, that's not likely to happen. But with tensions between the Kingdom and the Wilds of Trench increasing, he gets a chance at his dream, only to realize that it is not at all what he imagined. And when smoke emerges on the horizon in the direction of his birthplace, Josh takes a leap of faith for a man that will change everything.
Orphaned by the shadows of a mysterious realm for his parents' treason, Tyler is surrendered to the City of Dema, growing up and learning under Bishop Keons in the Inner City. As the shadows that plague his nightmares start to appear in his periphery, Tyler is cursed to fight the darkness surrounding him to preserve his own soul and sanity. Between being hunted by the demon from his nightmares and pressure from Bishop Nico to seek Glory, Tyler is losing hope. Until he meets a man who smells of ash and keeps his shadows at bay, whispering the name of a friend that only Tyler can see.
