So like what do I do if I’m cursed forever to sleep on a twin size mattress, never graduating up in size to add another? Will my nightmares have nightmares every night?

Not to expose myself but I hate music genres bc I really just don’t understand them. I like the front bottoms. I was told they were Midwest emo. Some people get very mad by this description. Are they now considered modern rock? Will I ever know or care? The answer is no.

#I know it has to do with like production and the quality of the music but I just don’t think my brain is built to comprehend it #people who can automatically name a band as post-grunge or third wave emo are so impressive tho #I respect you and am kissing you on the forehead for your knowledge #I will probably still refer to tfb as Midwest emo bc I like the title and the vibes (as someone who is perpetually stuck in the Midwest)#the front bottoms #tfb

I didn’t write a 10 page paper about how handcuffs by tfb is a direct reflection of the criminological theory of labeling and self-fulfilling prophecy for yall to sleep on it

#this was such a fun paper to write #and handcuffs is such an underrated song #like yes being viewed societally as a criminal does increase the risk of committing criminal behavior #also if it wasn’t clear I believe in acab 100%#im a prelaw student who is interested in broad criminal justice reforms #the front bottoms #tfb

A less heart wrenching lyric parallel is mountain (they’ll probably arrest me, they’ll probably ruin my whole summer) and camouflage (they’re probably calling the cops on me right now in a universe parallel)

Having bathtub (I scrub and scrub til my body bleeds, convince myself I am coming clean) and legit tattoo gun (but I am not a dirty god and I don’t have a dirty body) back to back means so much to me in words I probably can’t articulate

#like bathtub comes off as the harsh reality of coming to terms with your own self image #whereas legit tattoo gun is a desperate denial of that self image #does this make sense to anyone else or am I just rambling? the world may never know #I suck at analysis bc I love identifying patterns but it feels like there are infinite interpretations of said patterns #these songs are just so good #the front bottoms #tfb

Not to point out the obvious, but the way the sun is used as a metaphor for happiness consistently throughout the discography just overwhelms me
