yeah, why can't I dress how I want during a holiday about dressing up when I risk some bumfuck from nowhere pointing it out, potentially doxxing me, harassing me, or trying to delegitimize my love for cosplay because my costume, which doesn't directly effect them in any way shape or form, might potentially offend a group that they're not a part of. Personally I see no issue with hurting people's feelings via dressing how you want on an occaision that's all about scaring people and yes, when tumblr goes after people for wearing clothing they disagree with they're being killjoys and that's the whole reason I made this post.

Some costumes are things like Native American outfits or using black makeup to appear a different race, and a lot of female costumes are skimpy. Every Halloween tumblr basically goes around and complains about it.

But wasn’t Halloween the only time a women could dress sexy without being called a slut?? (Or at least that is what I heard in Mean girls). In my country nobody would ever wear outfits from our natives but I think that is basically because nobody finds those outfits appealing, they are huge and have to many colours, I personally don’t like them :( but I do respect the people that wear them. But there is one thing this people were that almost everybody in my country wears too, ponchos and chullos and this people even try to sell them to the exterior, they have no problem with that. So are people making a big deal in USA because of costumes for real? Ok maybe the native american thing is kinda bad but why is it bad to paint your face black or white??

From the 1840s to the 1920s show actors would paint their face black and reenact black stereotypes called blackface. Two good examples are birth of a nation and al Jolson. There's also Mexican ponchos and sombreros. Keep in mind in America tumblr is considered really far left SJWs. They see an issue with people using a sombrero, call any different skin color makeup blackface (regardless if it's meant to perpetuate a stereotype, which was the original purpose of blackface) and especially don't like the Native American thing. I posted this because I see this as an overreaction and that when people get offended and call for action on an issue like this that they're killjoys and if they had their way fun would be outlawed.
