he dotes on your hair all the time
every time he catches you huffing and puffing at it in the mirror, he pops up behind you and sticks a flower in your hair
“look how perfectly it stays in your hair! you’re meant for flowers, love.”
when you’re complaining about it, he humors you for a few minutes before stopping you
“love, look at the clouds. are they not puffy and untamed?” “yes”
“would they be clouds if they were not?” “i guess not”
“you wouldn’t be you if your hair was any different. it’s beautiful, just like the clouds”
he paints curly hair on the characters on his tarot deck. he says it’s so he never forgets how lovely you are
he’s always playing with your hair, which only makes it poofier
but you let him because he says he loves how it takes on a life of its own
when he catches you grumbling about how you dislike it, he places you in front of the mirror and narrates stories for each clump of curls
“look at this wild beauty! they are the most feared curl in all the ocean. and look! this one is the ocean HERSELF!”
it’s so ridiculous it makes you laugh every time

he loves how soft and bouncy it is

he loves how it looks in a messy bun, when you’re running through the woods and little curls fall loose around your face
“you look like an angel,” he says one day, unexpectedly
he gestures to you, vaguely, “the sunlight filtering through your hair. makes you glow, like an angel.”
“oh,” you say, cheeks heating up
“you’re...very beautiful.” he continues, his own face bright red now
“oh,” you say again with a small smile, “thank you”
he wraps his large hand around the back of your head, squishing all your hair down, and gives you a smooch on the forehead, “my angel”
