was ruminating on twitter about how floaty Jim Hawkins’ features are—he’s all angles in profile, and then a sweet brooding anime boy from the front?? They don’t entirely reconcile, SO I took a quick pass at a more consistent Jim turnaround, with a few more anchor points and angles.

My poses always look so stiff do you have any tips to make them looks more fluid while conserving the proportions?

Proportions are something you need to have in mind while drawing. With time and practice it’s going to be easier to get them right, your eyes will notice the mistakes, remembering about proportions will be more natural. Draw from life and references, do gesture drawing but keep it small so you can’t add any details. It’ll help you focus on proportions and gestures rather that anything else.

I want to introduce all of you to this amazing place called the ukhairdressers style gallery.

It’s basically a massive database full of high-quality images of different hairstyles. I mean, look at all the options in that sidebar (and part of it’s cut off):

In total they have 976 pages of hairstyles with about 17 styles each, that’s about 16592 hairstyles to look at.

My piece for the #DamesArtShow at Leanna Lin’s Wonderland, curated by Squared Co! Opening show was last night and it will be up till November 4th. The show focuses on women in pop culture that inspire us, and Belle has always been an inspiration for me. Being an individual, staying true to yourself, and having the courage to adventure to far off places and face the beasts of the world. For this piece I was also very much inspired by the “Stories” sequence in Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas :P Love that movie haha.
