Hello! Wanted to take a quick second to introduce myself ♡. I'm 24 and have been writing since middle school and started posting my silly little works on my obsessions when I was a freshman in high school (pls dear god do not try to find my old fics, they're awful lmao).
You can call me Sundew or anything along those lines, as I don't have any nicknames that wouldn't reveal my full name ♡

Mama’s boys who grow older and in turn hate their mother for making them who they are now, despise the woman who never looked his way in approval, never looked their way ever.
Mama’s boys who would still do anything for their mom even if it boils their blood that they’re so dependent on them now, wishing they would find someone else to nag and gaslight.
Mama’s boys who still look to their mom for approval even after she’s long gone, only now it hurts 10 times worse because she’s not even here to look the other way.
Only reason I’m not on here as much anymore is because I’m just not as inspired to write x reader rn 🤷🏻♀️

Probably might be disappointing to hear since I’ve written so much x reader stuff and I’m confident that is why most of guys followed me but I have so much more flexibility writing anything other than x reader, it’s just kinda easier? I like writing plain and simple, I created this blog purely for that because it’s my passion and hobby
And I’m really really really trying to move out of the outline and planning stage of my book as well, so I’m just preoccupied with other writing projects.
But I’ll try to finish my WIPs on Ao3 and here, I just don’t know when yet.
I think I've gone over the general consensus for her as a person and character so I might dive into her relationships and some other stuff as well, I won't make it too long lol.
But her and Reiner are married in the canon timeline (after the war), she was truly his rock during the four year time skip and after, one of the main reasons why he pulled through. But she struggled a lot with her mental health like Reiner did, she never saw the scouts as devils and empathized with them more than anyone on Marley, even after the raid on Liberio killed her parents. She wavered in her feelings about the scouts after her parent's death, but she never hated them. Maeve is a very forgiving person and is deeply understanding as well, it takes a lot for her to hate someone and swear them off. By the end of the war, Reiner was her only family left and though that was struggle to get through, she managed.
Maeve's family immigrated to Liberio from this region (see below). This is where her Sicilian and mediterranean descent stems from and in a modern au she would just be Sicilian.
Her father had a job offer and not knowing the extent of the conditions in Liberio and how Eldian's were treated, he moved his wife and oldest daughter (Maeve's older sister Ilsa) to Marley. Maeve was born and raised in Liberio.
Maeve still technically has family that lives in that region that survived the rumbling, she just doesn't know until her and Reiner travel there with their kids and get recognized by her grandmother. Reuniting with her grandparents and surviving members of her extended family further helps her heal with the loss of her parents and sister.
Her and Reiner had three kids post-rumbling; Maisie, Gabriel and Adalyn.
Gabriel was her hardest pregnancy, she was sick almost the entire time and had trouble adjusting to taking care of two young kids by herself majority of the time since Reiner had to return to his ambassador duties earlier than expected. That led to her suffering from Postpartum depression, where she felt like a failure and a horrible mother. Gabriel also was extremely restless as a newborn and that was a factor to her Postpartum depression as well. But Reiner was there for her the entire time and she was able to get through it. Gabriel is an absolute mama's boy and Maeve found it ironic how that came to be with struggling through his newborn phase but she doesn't mind one bit that he clings to her the most. And she loves her daughters just as much as she loves her son, though they tend to gravitate towards Reiner (Maisie especially), she has no favorites amongst her children and is forever grateful that she was given the opportunity to become a mother.
Maeve has also always been very maternal. Falco, Gabi, Udo and Zophia were always coming to her when they had a problem or got hurt, she's always been very caring had this "motherly" persona about her. But back then, she never saw herself ever bringing kids into the world due to mistreatment of Eldians and the fact that she wouldn't get to be with Reiner like she wanted. Obviously things changed but it still took her a while to feel okay about having kids.
Maisie, Gabriel and Adalyn all have birthdays that are extremely close to her deceased family members. (Her dad and Maisie were both born in May, her mom and Gabriel were both born in June and her sister and Adalyn were both born in November).
Her and Reiner make me softttttttttttt. I truly love writing them and exploring their relationship in canon and various other AUs, they are truly so fucking dear to me. (Attached some photos that capture their aesthetic, because why not, I have a whole board dedicated to them anyway lmao)
They're very compatible while also having their flaws but I am very much obsessed with them. Maeve has always been an OC of mine and when I finally go confident enough to explore her more, I realized her and Reiner were just perfect. They both love and value each other so much, it's just pure romance.
Maeve has always been close to Pieck and got closer with Annie after the war. Gabriel and Annie's son, Marcus, are two months apart and are best friends as well. Pieck has always been the more sisterly figure to Maeve while being a good friend as well and Annie has been more of the friend that tells you when you need to suck it up and she cherishes them deeply.
Out of Reiner's friends, Jean is who she's closer with and not just because him and Pieck are married. They had some long conversations after the war, discovering all the things about Reiner when he was a scout and getting further insight to how drastic her husband's time undercover was compared to being home in Liberio. Maeve thinks Jean is the friend Reiner always needed and is beyond thankful to Jean for saving his life those times and Jean is thankful to Maeve for being the person she is to Reiner as well. She's not as close to Armin or Connie as she is to Jean, but that group of ambassadors are her closest friends after the war. Resulting in all their kids growing up together and becoming friends as well.
Maeve still struggles with PTSD and her generalized anxiety long after the war as Reiner does as well but they've learned how to help the other as much as they can and learn to accept the help from their friends as well. But Maeve still misses her parents and her sister especially after she has kids, she hates that her mom and dad will never get to be grandparents and make memories with her kids and hates that Maisie, Gabriel and Adalyn won't get to have the cool aunt that would've been her sister Ilsa.
Maeve is a kind character with a big heart who puts others before herself 9 times out of ten, she's seen the struggle of others and can't help but want to find a solution for them. She doesn't do any ambassador work, telling Reiner a couple years after the war that she would be fine not working if she didn't have too, saying her years as the warrior unit's analyst and later tactician had burned her out of working any kind of job for a long time. But she does find use of her time through gardening, sewing and occasionally running a small stand at the Market when she has surplus of produce, fruits or baked goods, but most of her time is spent with Reiner and her kids because they are the dearest things to her and always will be.
But yeah that's more about my perfect precious Maeve 🥰🥰. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to yap about her a bit 🫶🏻🫶🏻 And thank you to anyone who read this entire spiel hehehe

The snowfall came as a surprise to everyone. A very late and not entirely unwelcome surprise.
The beginning of the year had been rather uneventful and warm, as if some higher forces were trying to lull everyone into a false sense of security. The weather forecasts predicted reasonable temperatures and sunny days, so Karina Braun went to visit her sister, as she had planned for a long time. Like every year before, Reiner was looking forward to having the house all to himself for several days, perhaps organizing a small party for his classmates… but he got more than he bargained for.
Because the moment his mother left, the temperature plummeted. Heavy snow blanketed the streets; ice sealed windows and turned sidewalks into never-ending ice rinks. Needless to say, all flights were immediately canceled, leaving Reiner’s mother stranded overseas.
Reiner wasn’t worried, per se. It wasn’t like she was alone or in danger—not counting Aunt Lucille’s ability to talk everyone to death. And as for himself… the school was cancelled, and so was practice, which Reiner counted as a belated Christmas gift.
One he intended to use to the best of his ability.
