Fog in the Alps by Jerdess
.
we may not be
who we used to be
but we can still be
good
.
~ @pocketfullofpoesies
And I should try,
Because the grass still grows after every devastating winter.
The trees fight to survive even though it would be much easier to die as a seed.
And moths push from cocoons just so they can see a flame or land on someone’s foot as a sign of good luck, making a person believe that they are special for just one moment in time.
So I should try.
I should try too.

travel truth and lies unmasked (2020) - martin lindstrom
there’s only a blink between
a moment & a lifetime & maybe
time progresses for everyone,
but loops around & pauses
between the two of us - I'm
not sure how to exist outside
of survival mode, but sometimes
I wish I could sleep at night
without feeling like something
is about to begin at the end -
we made lovers out of the
people we saw
in ourselves
You choose the tangible means
To let your mental hurt
Prick your physical being,
Try your best to amplify
The pain that needs
Your assessment and compassion to recede,
Become embroiled in conflict
And view it as a way of coping,
Delve into an obscurity
From which you find no way to exit,
Turn irretrievably oblivious
Of the fact that you need
Yourself the most
To rise and flourish
Without anybody being near
To your body.
I didn’t know I could fall in love
I don’t know how I’ve fallen in love again, I thought I’d forgotten
and it isn’t the kind of love that has been steeped in romantic dinners or late night conversations,
it’s the kind of love that hits you suddenly like a good idea, that comes on with thoroughness and richness
it is overpowering and untamed and I can go on trying to get at it but if you’ve had it, you know you can’t do it with words
but nevertheless you’ve gotten under my skin and I find myself wondering what it’s going to take to get those skinny legs wrapped around me
