I have decided that I’m going to not going to be back on Tumblr for the foreseeable future, mainly because it often just brings me distraction or negativity, and giving it up for Lent has really shown me that I really don’t need it. I’m not going to deactivate, but I don’t think I’m going to come back on anytime soon. ✌🏼
A Note To The Anti-Porn Crowds:
Ya’ll gotta come up with better excuses to be against it, other than females (why are they your only concern? Guys and boys have been/are, too) being abused and/or trafficked. Why? Because that can be pointed to with pretty much everything else.

So, unless you’re 100% self-sufficient, you’re benefiting from exploitation. And, if you’re only raging against porn for that? That makes you a hypocrite.

This dumbass really out here saying because other bad things happen it’s entirely okay to support the abuse, rape and torture of women across the world. Like he typed this out and hit post and felt proud of himself about this. Absolutely incredible. Like you would think this would be a guy that like does research so he knows he’s supporting ethical companies and not supporting slave labor or inhuman and unsustainable practices but in reality he did research just to try and stick it to people that argue against treating women like garbage. Men never cease to amaze me with their justification for porn.
Besides the loads of evidence that has already come out explaining how viewing porn actually leads to a decrease in sex-drive, the inability to get it up when not in front of a screen, and the depression that can result when your brain becomes used to an over-supply of dopamine all the time, the expression “you need to come up with a better argument than the fact that all types of people are being abused and trafficked” is pretty comical in and of itself.
Except the most vocal people who call porn exploitation of women - the ones’OP is referring to - don’t usually make those arguments. They’re largely a separate group from the NoFappers. OP’s talking about the type of folks who call people “cumbrains” for liking or defending porn.
Also, OP specifically said the people he’s referring to ignore male victims of porn exploitation. They tend to consider all porn inherently abusive, but only to women. He’s claiming they ignore other types of products made by exploited people. I’m not sure that’s true, but you’re misrepresenting his argument.
I was just listing those arguments in addition to OP’s arguments as to why porn isn’t beneficial to anybody, I wasn’t trying to misrepresent his argument. I actually think he laid out several pretty decent arguments for why porn is harmful to people, specifically the people involved in the industry. I was just pointing out how ironic it seems to me that OP went to the length of even admitting how harmful it is, but then continues to just imply “well, it’s okay since a bunch of other industries use slave labor anyway”, as if 1) porn isn’t one of the easiest things to go without anyway, and 2) we shouldn’t be holding corporations accountable for their treatment of people

I’m not ignoring the males, that’s why I literally used the phrase “all types of people” a.k.a. men, women, and children.

So I had to return a book to the library today and I came straight from the horse farm. I went to the front desk because it was an item on loan from another library and I wasn’t sure if it had to be checked in differently. The librarian said no, it could get returned in the normal slot but she could take it and check it in right away.
It was only when I got back to the car that I realized I had walked into the library covered in dirt from head to toe and handed back a book about grave robbing.
I guarantee you that was the highlight of their day.

full disclosure I would love NOTHING more than to see Disney fall into obscurity and some other company become the inventive, inspiring animation studio that Disney once was. Like, if Sony keeps going down the Spiderverse road we could very well have that happen.
I don’t want to go see movies made by some company that’s essentially the dude who peaked playing football in High School and remembers his One Great Touchdown That Changed The Game every day as part of his morning ritual. And that’s what Disney is right now. It’s the middle-aged dude who had a really good time in the 90s and can’t let go.

Why would trafficking increase when you have legalized prostitution.
Because if prostitution is legal, demand increases. And if it is legal, pimps and traffickers have more room to exploit and sell women under the guise of legal sex work.
In fact, in countries where it is legal, pimps and brothel owners are considered sex workers themselves.
Just because you legalize prostitution doesn’t mean women are going to be anymore willing to do it, but more men expect to go to prostitutes, so the demand for prostitution increases. Where do you get prostitutes if women aren’t willing to be them? you kidnap and traffick them!!

it’s worth pointing out that Germany, who’s always touted as very progressive for legalizing prostitution and instituting prostitution unions, has become the human trafficking hub of Europe since those laws were implemented.
In 2009, there were around 900 victims of human trafficking in the Netherlands. In 2017, there were over 6000 and this number is estimated to fall prey to human trafficking every year. Over 4000 are sex slaves and over 1000 are children. This is getting progressively worse. I honestly cannot believe people aren’t educated that this legalization adds to an increase in human trafficking. Isn’t it obvious that’s how the world works? Also, men don’t care. I remember a post over here with men that were going to prostituted children and one of them was saying “I don’t care to know how the sausage is made”. That should tell you everything you need to know if you’re still having doubts about which side of the barricade you should choose.
