Ares isn’t just the God of war. He’s the God of scared children standing up to bullies on the playground. And he’s the God of the ones that don’t. He’s the God of domestic violence victims that find the strength to leave. And he’s the God of the ones that don’t. There is strength and courage in picking up the pieces after.
Ares: USE THOSE MUSCLES THAT YOU WORKED SO HARD FOR
Hestia: They stopped working out last week
Ares: WHY’D YOU STOP WORKING OUT???
Me: I was sad-
Question for anyone reading this because I’m very curious!
Is there any offering you seem to make CONSTANTLY
Like, it’s kinda just a go to offering or it’s one you use super often
For me it’s coffee! I drink it hella often, so whenever I do, I offer it to my deities :DD
Recently, I’ve been looking into adding Ares into my worship, so if any Ares devotees or worshippers would like to share their experiences with him and anything else you feel is worth sharing, that’d be super lovely!
Update!!
I’ve decided to add Ares to my worship!!
I’m excited to see how this goes and I can’t wait :DD!!
I've been really interested in Dionysus ever since i started learning about greek mythology a few years ago. I tried making a small altar with things i found around my house (I'm 14 and my family is very christian). I have a rainbow flag, some big cat stuffed animals (a tiger, a snow leopard, and a cheetah), some cranberry juice (that i replace daily to keep fresh), a copy of hamlet, some pinecones, and a small dildo. is this okay for a starter altar? also any tips about communicating with dionysus would be greatly appreciated!
That is definitely more than okay for an altar!
Our deities are very understanding and appreciate being worshipped and thought about at all! I’m sure he loves it!
You can talk to him lots of different ways!
Shufflemancy is a good one, it’s a form of divination using music! You could ask a question then shuffle the playlist (I’ve seen that you choose a number and then shuffle the playlist that many times to get an answer ^^^)
Meditation is another good one! You can use music, guided meditations, or nothing at all!
Outright talking to him is another! You could talk out loud or just in your mind, tell him about your day and anything else you’d like!
Above all, remember to be patient!
It’s super easy to compare your way of communicating to others, but doing that will only ever harm you.
It takes patience to learn and get even better, but I believe that you can do it!

Sorry for the spontaneous disappearance!
I was in the process of moving when I first started posting + dealing with school, but, I’m free now!
I hope everyone has been doing super well! ❤️
You are enough for the gods, they understand, don’t be so hard with yourself
The love you give to your gods is reciprocated even if you aren’t yet noticing it. It’s never in vain even if fear and anxiety tell you it is. They love you as much as you love them. 🧡
Apollo: And what do we say when you’re burnt out and people ask you for help?
Me: Of course I’ll help you-
Apollo, tired: NO-
Nobody:
Absolutely nobody:
My deities, hitting me with the Self Love™️ Bat: LOVE YOURSELF!!!!
Last night before bed I lit Dionysus’ candle, put on a playlist I found for him, and talked!
It was super nice to just be with him, and before I blew out his candle and said my good nights, I asked if there was a song he wanted to play that would be “ours” and represent our relationship!
He chose Bang! by AJR, which kinda made me laugh.
He’s mentioned that, with this relationship, he wants to help me actually LIVE life and stop seeking other peoples approval.
Afterwords, I said my good nights (again), blew out his candle, and went to sleep :’)
In Hestia’s name, may you always have a home and a roof over your head.
May you always be comfortable and warm with a full belly.
May you always be in good spirits and good company, never knowing the pervading loneliness that envelopes the soul.

Hello! How are you? I have followed your profile for a while and also Nathan's, and I am completely in love. I learn a lot from you two. But there is one thing that I have a hard time with and I can't 'make it work' at all: Godphone.
Could you please give me tips and suggestions on how to make it work? And also, how do you know if it is the voice of divinity or your thought? Or illusion? Sometimes I notice that part of the mind, the voice comes, if it is above, in the middle hahaha anyway. I don't know how it works 😣. I saw Nathan's tips but still... I wanted your help and opinion, please. Thank you very much and have a great day! 💛✨🌻💖💞
Hello, love!!
So here’s my thing as i mentioned it in previous asks. I dont necessarily think everyone can get the godphone to work. It’s really like any other form of communication. Not everyone can read tarot. Not everyone can astral project. Not everyone can recall their dreams. But you know the internet put godphoning on a pedestal so now it’s looked at as the superior form of communication that everyone should do or else you suck at worship. Which is not the case at all.
However, I do still look at communicating with gods as a skill and skills can be learned. So I do think if you really want to access the godphone you can learn to but it has to be for the right reasons. Don’t do it because it’s what the internet said you have to do and def don’t hang your entire worship on whether you can or can’t use the godphone.
With that said I have two pieces of advice for you that I believe has been instrumental in helping me access my own godphone:
No Expectations. This is the biggest pitfall worshipers find themselves in and not even just with godphoning but worship in general. They see what the internet is doing and expect their journey to go exactly like that when in reality we all are on our on journeys and will experience things differently. When you go into this with expectations you’ve limited your focus leaving you likely to miss out on what YOUR experience actually is.
Don’t Overthink It. I said in this ask what has helped me the most with accessing my godphone is to stop asking myself whether the advice I was receiving was from the gods or not. You’re never going to get a satisfying answer to that question, ever. Trust me, Artemis brought deer to my house and I STILL didn’t believe it was her reaching out to me. Your brain is ALWAYS going to find an excuse that it isn’t the gods if you give it the space to. So I stopped giving it that space and instead just accepted that it was always the gods speaking to me.
Hopefully that helps, love! <3
I meant to reblog this earlier, but completely forgot (how shocking)
I completely agree with both of these!
Holding your communication and overall worship of your deities to such high expectations is just a pit that you’ll fall into filled with doubt!
In my own experiences, I struggled the exact same way! I was thoroughly convinced that because I couldn’t godphone, I wasn’t cut out for being with my deities.
It didn’t do anything but break me down and distance myself from my deities, who were trying to reach out to me in other ways.
And whenever I DID get some sort of sign, I would automatically overthink it to the point of brushing off any and every sign i had received, which definitely didn’t help with my relationships with them.
Once I learned not to hold myself to such high expectations and stop overthinking I was able to notice and see things I hadn’t before!
Both Apollo and Hermes had been sending me different signs, but because I was so clouded with the idea of the “ideal worship”, I had never noticed.
Communication takes practice, but I believe that you can do it!
Good luck anon!! <33
