I. Scatter kindness over everything. Like seeds, it will grow into flowers and everything will look wonderful and smell like beauty. In any moment, consider what is the greatest act of kindness you can do and then do it; tell someone their hair looks nice, give your seat up on the bus for someone, get yourself a glass of water to stay hydrated. Kindness is never wasted so give generously, to others, to yourself, to those who deserve it least. II. Judge less. Stop looking at people and deciding whether their hair, face, clothes, or makeup fits your standards. Some elements of our appearances are not able to be altered, and the rest are only the choice of the person themselves. Remember that your opinion on someone’s appearance is not needed. Compliments are always nice but be careful not to let your perceptions of people turn into harsh adjudication. III. Try to be better than you once were. Forget about doing better than others and try to become a better you. Decide what it is that you want and take steps from where you are now straight towards where you want to be. Don’t let the doubt of others or yourself steer you off path or convince you otherwise. You’re capable of extraordinary things, you just have to remember that you’re the main character in your story. You are not a tragedy and you do not need to be saved. Decide to stand up for yourself. Start right now. IV. Be entirely present as often as possible. Don’t measure the success of your days by the number of things you did but by the extent to which you felt everything. It’s okay for there to be sadness and messes and spilt coffee and heartbreaks. And it’s okay if you didn’t climb a mountain or meet someone new today. But do everything you can to feel it all. Don’t turn off, don’t switch to autopilot. Let yourself be conscious of your existence as often as possible. Squeeze all of the life out of every second. V. Learn what makes you happy and follow that. Don’t concentrate all of your energy on identifying what makes you sad, who is toxic to your life and all of the things that hurt. The more you think of these things, even if you are trying to get rid of them, the more they infect your life. Instead, think of the things that make you feel alive, think of what inspires the greatest joy in your heart and pursue that at full speed. The terrible things will eventually fall behind, I promise.

A weekend of waterfalls, mountain vibes and spontaneous times ✌🌲🌻
Saturday, February 28, 2015 // I spent the last half of today in Seattle. It was an absolutely gorgeous day with an even prettier sunset up at Kerry Park. After having hit up most of the main sight-seeing areas yesterday with Heidi, it was nice to just stick around the waterfront and Pike Place Market today. Going up to the Queen Anne side and watching the sun go down opposite the city was a perfect end to my adventures before settling in for the night. This weekend was amazing.
Take me back to Seattle please!

Saturday, February 28, 2015 // Ali and I went up and hiked Rattlesnake Ledge this morning. Following two miles up a mountain on steep switchbacks was hard but it was perfect. You get to the top and not only are you surrounded by trees, but by mountains all around. The light from the sun coming up over the mountains shone through the trees and warmed the trails up nicely. This was a beautiful, refreshing, and fulfilling hike.
Gorgeous! I love that hike!
