Herpaversary

I haven't posted on here in forever, but today is my one year herpaversary and I am celebrating. This year has been really really hard. I've had more outbreaks than I can count, and somehow they keep getting worse. But you know what? I made it a whole year with having herpes, and as I am sitting here today I didn't ever think I would get to today. And I'm so proud and so glad I did. I know I still have a long way to go in terms of accepting and dealing with the almost constant outbreaks. But that can wait until tomorrow, today I want to celebrate.

It is not fair on the other person if they get herpes from you because you didn’t think it was “worth the effort” of telling them.

Just because it’s like a 2% risk of transmitting herpes, doesn’t mean that that 2% doesn’t happen. Yeah, maybe they won’t get it, but they still had the choice of that risk.

Traveling...

I'm going away for a long weekend and think an outbreak is starting, does anyone know any good way to bring all of their herpes stuff (coconut oil, lidocaine, ice packs, meds, etc) that doesn't take up half their suit case? Idk if yall have seen the new Trojan Condom commercials this is the guy in them and he is hilarious. Not only does he address the important issue of using condoms but he also specifically addresses genital herpes and the importance of disclosure. I absolutely love his view on it and everything he has to say. If you look under the comments for this video he even makes a comment directly to people with genital herpes. Lil Dicky is my new favorite person.

Consenting to sex does not mean consenting to an STD if you are not aware the person you are sleeping with has one.
