Lads as Dads
The one where he becomes a father: Caleb, Rafayel and Zayne | Part 1
Just the Li's as dads! Leave your thoughts down below and remember to show some love! (comments, likes and reposts) They are all a bit long... sorry! (or not!)
Caleb
The second he laid his eyes on the baby, something in him changed instantly; he couldn't point out what, but there was this sudden shift in him, and when he held your son in his arms, he was pretty sure his heart stopped for a second. It did not matter to him how his son looked, but when his purple eyes shone back at him, he couldn't help but start crying softly.
The life he never thought he would have was suddenly right here in this hospital room on his ship. "God..." He sniffled, "He's beautiful..." He said as he softly bounced the baby as he began to stir in his father's arms, recognising his voice almost instantly, "Yeah, baby, it's daddy." He coos, "Daddy is right here, and he is never going to leave..." He kissed his forehead and looked at you "Thank you, pips." He looks up at you, and a small tear falls, and you smile, gesturing for him to come closer.
Caleb moved slowly and slowly rested down on the bed right next to you, passing you your son as he settled down properly and rested his arm behind you, leaving you room to rest your head on his chest to listen to his heartbeat.
You shuffle slightly and move to rest the baby on your skin as you look up at him with tired eyes "He looks just like you..." You smile up at him, and that is when the water works begin, and he becomes a blubbering mess, muttering thank yous and I love yous and I don't deserve yous.
You just giggle and run your fingers through his hair "Gee, I didn't know I had two babies in my bed." You tease and pull him close, kissing him gently before looking down at the infant.
"He's definitely going to need a sibling if he is like me, he won't be able to cope being alone." He chuckles as he caresses the baby's face with his forefinger.
"I am glad we were thinking the same." You grin up at him with a twinkle in your eye.
"Really? An hour ago, your hand was around my throat, squeezing the life out of me for putting a boulder inside of you-"
You shh him with your finger "We all have our moments, dear." You coo and look down at your son.
It was safe to say that you made sure your firstborn was surrounded by company, having three more babies after him, three boys and a girl, who unsurprisingly took after you and had all three brothers wrapped around her tiny finger - especially her father...
Caleb would be the type of dad to sit there and go with whatever his children wanted... if they wanted to be a basketball champion or a figure skater, they got all the training they needed, and he made sure to come to every game or competition, even if he came in his colonel uniform.
To me, he is a family man first and foremost, so whenever he can make them happy, he does it... and maybe a few guilt gifts for when he has to go on long missions, but he tries to be the best father he can be. Giving them the life that MC and he couldn't have growing up.
He would definitely struggle with hospitals, worried that what happened to him and MC might happen to his kids, especially when their evols start appearing, so he makes sure that the only doctor they see is Zayne. He didn't care for conflict of interest; in fact, he invested thousands of pounds into the hospital to get his way to make sure his children were safe.
He would probably try to be strict at first, but when he sees his kids becoming rebellious against it, he takes a step back and takes a firm, but fair approach. Plus, it was you who ran the house anyway, so whatever you say goes.
His favourite part of being a dad? The weekend mornings, before all the clubs start, and he can have them all sitting around the counter or all helping make breakfast as he simply listens to the chatter surrounding him, before telling them to wake you up for the day.
His second favourite thing is hearing them laugh, or family days out, but he really cherishes the family movie night where the kids use him as a makeshift pillow and bed, hanging onto him as you snuggle into his side, and he gets to just sit there and take it all in, thanking his lucky stars that he found his way back to you.
Rafayel
Rafayel comes from a big family, not biologically, of course, but he seems to protect each Lumerian, not like a God would, but like a family member would, and so, all in all, when it comes down to it, family is one of the most important parts of his existence. He's pretty sure that if it wasn't for Aunt Talia, he wouldn't be here.
With two of your kids already on this earth, you and Rafayel were certain that was enough between your missions and his exhibitions, plus Thomas had two, and he was doing well, so two was perfect! Or, that is what you two both told each other whenever you saw the baby section in the store. It was logical... except you two were not the most logical pair.
You had been feeling under the weather for a few days, maybe even weeks, and at first, you thought it was your period, but when that didn't come, for a while, you were stumped as to why something felt so off. Until the vomiting joined the mix and Rafayel had to call Josephine himself to tell her that you were off sick, and who dares to fight against a rich artist like Rafayel? So you were housebound for a while until you recovered.
Except, you weren't recovering, but you were not getting worse either; you were in this dull middle, until the familiar feeling clicked and you opened your eyes with a gasp. You leave your room and slip into the bathroom, zooming past the sitting room where Rafayel was sitting by the colouring table, bouncing your toddler on his knee and participating in a scribbling competition with your six-year-old "No, let papa win I-a god, defeated by his daughter." He sighs dramatically, "How will I ever go on being an artist?" He puts the back of his arm over his head as he stabilises his son on his knee, peaking at his daughter as he tries not to break out in a smile.
His eyes follow you zoom past, and he gently puts the toddler in his play chair, straps him in and gives his daughter a new colouring sheet "Let's see who can keep the colour within the lines next?" he says, quickly throwing her into another challenge, placing a kiss on her head, before leaving to see you.
"Cutie?" He asks softly and knocks on the door, "Are you okay? You seemed to be getting better over the past few days. Are you sure you don't want to see a doctor?"
"No! No, I mean, eventually we will have to go, but I know what's wrong." You quickly explain as you look at the pregnancy test in your hand, "Or I will do any minute now..." You mutter more to yourself, but your husband heard you. "Oh? What do you mean, what illness can you find out within-?" And just like that, he went quiet as everything clicked into place, and he, too, let out a gasp, "Let me in." "What, Rafayel, the kids-"
"The kids are fine, the little seashells are all preoccupied, let me in." He tried the handle again and pouted, "Do you want me to say please-?" Without another word, the door opened, and Rafayel was yanked in. You glanced at the kids to make sure they were safe and busy before walking back in to see your husband staring at the stick as if it were the baby itself.
"Wow, we really did try our hardest in Venice- ow!" He flinched when you pinched the back of his arm and smiled softly, "This is perfect! I mean, are you ready, because if not-"
You smile and take the stick from his hand and plant a soft kiss on his lips "I am ready, if you are." He cups your face and smiles, "I love you."
When nine months came and went, you sent your kids to Aunt Talia's house for the night as you gave birth to your second daughter, making sure you were alright before taking your daughter into your arms and cradling her "I mean, three is an odd number..." He began as he looked at the purple mop on his daughter's head with a glint in his eyes.
You grin and shake your head, "Yes, it is."
"And you hate odd numbers, unless it ends in five, so..."
"I do." You say as you take your daughter back to nurse her
"Baby number four?" He asks, wriggling his brows, "I mean, we are going to France in six months and it worked like a treat last time."
You snort with laughter and look at him, "Babe, I have just had a baby!"
He chuckles and kisses you, "I know, but you just look so beautiful right now - I mean, you're always beautiful, but the mama glow is to die for on you!" He kisses you again "Again, thank you, my love." He caresses your face "All jokes aside, I have already told Thomas to clear my schedule, so you don't need to worry about a thing. I will be with you every step of the way." You rest your head in his palm and nod. You knew he meant it because Rafayel had never abandoned you; he was always by your side, since the day you met.
However, as the years went on, the two of you went on to have two more children, because everything had to end in five!
Rafayel, as a father, would want his children to strive for their best, whatever their best looked like, but he definitely worked hard to make sure his children had one creative hobby, whether it was painting, pottery, musical instruments or dance, or multiple ones. He strived to make sure they felt enriched culturally and creatively.
His favourite part of being a dad was the early mornings or late evenings, or how his girls would sit at the bottom of his ladder and watch him paint, or how they would all go on walks on the beach, telling ghost stories, collecting seashells and learning about Lumerian history.
He would teach his children to be confident. If they got in trouble at school, he would question the other kids, because how could his precious seashells do anything wrong? A problem with anything? It would be fixed by the next day. A last-minute project? He would stay up all night to make sure they got the highest mark.
He was the pillow they all could fall on when life got tough, and he prided himself on that.
Zayne
Zayne never expected to be a father. Sure, he had his moments of weakness where he would look at you in his arms and catch himself seeing a mini you and him playing in front of the two of you, but he never thought it would be a reality.
The truth was, he was scared, and the fear grew with every day that he loved you (not that he would have it any other way), a fear that, like in every other lifetime, you would be taken from him and adding a kid into the mix, he could only think the universe would turn more cruel.
However, holding your hand whilst his colleague at the hospital took your ultrasound, all the loud noises in his head disappeared in an instant as he squeezed your hand. You couldn't be sure if he was crying, but you did hear some sniffles in your left ear; you could only smile at the small button on the small screen. The baby growing inside you was a surprise, but a good surprise.
Your husband would try his hardest to keep to his normal temperament, to try and make sure you felt like you can rely on him, but every night when you went to sleep he was studying with parenting books and neonatal medicine textbooks to make sure he was prepared for all outcomes. He just wanted to make sure he was the best parent he could be for the life growing inside of you.
“I think it’s a boy.” You called out to him whilst he was getting dressed in the bedroom and you were making breakfast.
“Really?” He asks as he walks into the kitchen, a few moments of silence as he considered your theory. “What makes you think that, my love?” He asks as his arms wraps around your waist, his nose nuzzling your hair as he took in the scent that was uniquely you.
“My stomach has low carrying.” You explain as you stir the porridge and continue scrolling through old wives tales.
Zayne raised a brow at this and moved so his chin was resting on your head as he looked down at your screen “I see.” He muses “next thing you’re going to tell me is that you’ve only craved salty things.”
“No, I’ve become a mini you.” You grin “I’ve gained my own sweet tooth.” You gleam up at him and he smiles “ah so it could be twins.” He nods
“Twins?” You mutter, as you looked down at your bump, there was no way you could be holding two in there
Zayne chuckled and put your phone down “relax I’m only teasing you.” He said as he showed you the next line ‘if you crave sweet things you’re having a girl.’
A small blush appears on your cheek and zayne plants a kiss on your head “either way, it doesn’t matter to me, boy, girl, twins or not.” He cups your cheek to make sure you’re facing him “as long as I have you in full health, that’s all that matters to me.”
Because truthfully, all he needed was you, and even though at first the baby gave him a rest from the noises in his head, they soon came back. So, as long as he had you at the end of it all, he could push through all the noise.
The day the baby was born, there was a storm, leading you to have to give birth at home as there was no way you and zayne could arrive at the hospital safely. You laid on the guest bed and held on tightly to one of the pillows around you as zayne was at the other end preparing to deliver the baby.
“Alright, baby are you ready to push?” He asks, his thumb caressing your ankle as he heard your whimper “it’s alright, I’m here. I’m not going to let anything happen to you.”
You nod and with a deep breath you prepare for your first push.
Zayne guided you through each push, his loving caresses on your legs and his sweet words were the only thing that got you through as you gave birth to your first born, a boy.
He handed you your son with a small smile and kissed you on the head “you’re both healthy. But we should take him and you to the hospital as soon as the storm clears.
You nod as you cradle your son as the mattress dips beside you as your husband joins you, letting your son hold his finger.
“Told you it was going to be a boy.” You muse and he just smiles and kisses you gently “you’re never wrong, my love.” He says against your lips before kissing you again.
The two of you only had one more child a few years later, a baby girl, which surprisingly (or not so surprisingly) all you wanted was sweet snacks, usually stealing zayne’s especially in the late stages of the pregnancy where you were ravenous more often than not.
Zayne promised you the old wives tales were just coincidences, but after that you weren’t so sure, and you spent the rest of your days teasing him about how the old wives tales were right.
Your poor husband eventually gave up trying to explain the science to you and whenever you brought it up he would either pull you into a hug or kiss you to prevent you from saying anything more.
“I’m pretty sure you just say nonsense whenever you want affection at this point.” He mutters as he read his medical journal and you just chuckled
“So what if I am.”
“Then you can write down in your findings that it’s very affective.” He quips, the corner of his mouth turning up ever so slightly in amusement.
You smile as you nurse your daughter as you lay next to him “I love you.”
He closed his journal and looked at you “I love you too.”
Zayne as a father would be firm but fair (most of the time) some of the time, your children had him wrapped around their little pinkie fingers, convincing him to buy them sweet treats after school or tests, or talking him out of making them do their homework at times.
But, when needs be he does put his foot down and his children respect him more than anything, because at the end of the day he just wants the best for them and their future to be bright.
He would be the type of father who would quietly listens to your worries and fears and talk you through them, not giving you a solution, but helping you come to your own.
He would be there whenever one of your children called, and wouldn’t tolerate any mistreatment of them, infact if the school didn’t handle any cases of bullying effectively then you could bet that he would be sending them to an even better school.
And he one hundred percent uses his influence to help his kids in anyway that he can because you and his two children are everything to him.
And even though some nights the voices are louder, he could ignore them as long as it meant that all three of you were in his arms at the end of the day.
(P.S. He would definitely leave a note on a napkin for your kid’s lunches to make sure they ate and had a healthy diet overall).

What they need to hear from you
The one where you comfort him : Caleb, Rafayel, Zayne, Sylus, Xavier
Hello! This is my first official writing of the LaDS characters; I hope you enjoy it! Feedback and love are most appreciated! 💕 The reader is the MC in this one! Angsty! No other warnings.Thank you to my friend who helped me find some inspiration for this post <3
Caleb
Caleb always tried to be the Caleb you remembered, even if he could not remember it that well, he searched through the little memory he had left to piece himself together. Because it was for you. He saw your face that day, the day you told him you didn't need him. That look in your eye, he didn't know exactly what it was; disgust? Pity? Terror? He couldn't recognise it. So, instead of acting like it never happened, he tried to make himself better, just so you would never leave his side again... you liked him before, right? So, it shouldn't be too hard... right?
Turns out, it was harder than he had ever imagined, after all the time he had not seen you since you were released from his fleet, everything between the two of you became suffocatingly awkward. Neither of you knew what to do, what to say, he was beginning to believe that even with the silly coupon (he didn't find it silly... not really), there was no salvaging what the two of you had.
He had destroyed it all in desperation to have you.
So, even though whenever he was near you, he felt like as if is chest was caved in from shame; he stayed by your side. Letting himself silently suffocate because that is what he deserved for letting you down -- or so he believed. It wasn't until you came back injured from a mission, where he ran to you, but he didn't dare touch you, his hands just sort of... hovered over your injuries, his eyes darting around, his brain trying desperately to find a way he could help you without terrifying you again. You sighed and watched him before slowly reaching toward his hand, your fingers brushing against the top of his hand "Caleb..." You whisper, your now strained relationship was hurting a lot more than your physical injuries "Caleb, I am not scared of you... I need you to help me." You push and look at him "Please.." It was true, what happened in Skyhaven was behind you and even though it was killing you with how different the two of you were compared to before, you aren't able to clean all these wounds yourself.
Caleb's eyes softened immediately, and he nodded. "Of course, Pipsqueak, you must be hurting a lot; I'm sorry." He quickly got up and grabbed the first aid kit as he slowly sat you down gently and began to look at your injuries, taking a deep breath before he peeled your sleeves away. "Pips... where did you go to... to get these types of injuries?" He asked gently, but when he was met with nothing but silence, he let out a sigh. "Please, prioritise your safety..." He muttered before continuing to help you as you focused on other wounds. You turn to him and nod "I do, it's just-" He didn't need you to explain, "I know." Was all he said before finishing up and packing the first aid kit "Do you... uh.." He scratched the back of his neck. "Need help with anything else?" He asks gently, but when you shake your head, he just gives you a soft smile and lets you be.
He stood in the kitchen and sighed gently as he slipped the first aid kit back into the cupboard. It wasn't easy to see you like this, in pain and uncomfortable. He just wanted to fix everything; he was good at it whilst he was younger, so why wasn't he good at it now?
He knew you had to do this; you had to save the people the way that you and he weren't in that catastrophe, but he wondered if you were trying to prove something to yourself, too. Caleb wanted to push them, tell you that saving the world wasn't your responsibility, but he has just got you back; you're finally not scared of him anymore; he couldn't ruin that. All he could be is glad that you were here now, that you came to him after all.
He closed the cupboard and prepared a small cup of hot chocolate for the two of you, and sat in the sitting room, waiting for your return.
After getting changed into comfier clothing, you nestled into Caleb, your heart racing slightly in fear he would reject this form of affection after so long... after what you said to him. But, he welcomed it and wrapped his arm around you. "I want to go back to how we used to be.." You say softly, looking up at his big purple eyes. "A-At least, start working towards it... You're my home, Caleb... I don't want this... awkwardness anymore."
You swore you could almost see him levitate off the couch as he practically shone with happiness as if those were the only words he ever needed to hear. "Anything you want, Pipsqueak, I am yours to command."
Rafayel
Rafayel was not an insecure man. At least, that is what everyone else thought. Rafayel, on the other hand, was not so sure. It is not that he felt insecure; it's more he felt this emptiness inside of him, and he had no clue what to fill it with. After all these years, he had you in his grasp once more, so close, yet so far. Because he remembered everything, he even knew what was to come, but you? You're so clueless. He knew how he lost you, how he would lose you and how he could lose you. And he had to deal with this pain and anger all alone.
His past failures jabbed into him as if he were Prometheus, constantly being pecked by a bird. He lived between what was his life and the life he had before, dealing with the betrayal he caused, all for the one he loved, for you, but you didn't know. You will never know.
A part of him did not want you to ever find out what kind of monster he was, afraid he would scare you away, like the otherworldly beast he is, but the other part of him was so tired of carrying this alone.
He wasn't insecure in himself, but insecure for what he could do for you, insecure in his love for you. Would it be enough for you to stay? For the two of you to finally have an entire lifetime together? Would it be worth plunging his people into darkness?
It was a constant spiral he had since you came back into his life, like a rollercoaster, but forever stuck on the loop, the happiness that he finally has you and the pain of what he was - it was a never-ending cycle. That a part of him didn't want to escape; he deserved this pain after all, didn't he? For what is a God who does not live in shame for causing suffering to his people?
But, deep down, he was just afraid he would become unloveable in your eyes. That was his deepest, darkest fear, the one that drowned him in darkness once the night time hit.
You knew something was wrong. It seems silly but when your world was a bit duller, when the grey clouds seemed more prominent or when the lakes and seas swayed as if it was heavy, you knew Rafayel was not himself. So, with a spare bag of seashells in hand and some of the rare materials you knew he liked, you headed over to his place.
The plastic bag twisted against your fingers, almost cutting off circulation entirely as you made your way through the streets and to the beach, slipping your spare key out of your pocket and into the keyhole of the gate, twisting it a few times to unlock the gate.
You gently swished the bag beside you as you made the way to the door, and you imagined your boyfriend's smile when he saw you. However, your heart fell to your stomach as Rafayel's 'organised' mess was scattered and ruined across the floor. The studio was a mess and unkempt; it was almost like an abandoned building.
"Rafayel?" You called out and looked around the place before you saw him sitting on the balcony.
He turned to you, his eyes screaming emotions at you that you had never seen on him before "Cutie..." He whispered meekly.
You fell to your knees by his side once you approached his side and cupped his face "Darling? What has happened? Are you struggling to paint?" You ask as you caress his cheek, your heart fluttering as he leans in as if he hadn't been touched by you in weeks (he saw you yesterday)
"Will you still love me, no matter what I become?" He asked you suddenly, and you froze as you looked at him; the two of you had silently loved each other until now, finding other ways to highlight your love rather than saying it.
"Of course you wouldn't." He muttered bitterly and turned from you, missing how your brows scrunched together with a mix of confusion and anger
"What-?"
"How could an angel like you love a monster like-" "I love you." You blurt out and make him face you, "I wanted to say it in a more romantic way, in a way that you will always remember.... but I love you, Rafayel, no matter what you become.." You smile softly and place a kiss on his cheek and caress it into his skin as if to heal him.
Rafayel's hand slipped down from above yours to your wrist as he searched your eyes for any deceit.
"Promise?" He asks, his grip on your wrist tightening slightly as he anticipates your answer.
"I promise, my heart has always been yours and always will be.
Rafayel may have a piece of him missing, but he was sure it was to be filled by you.
Zayne
Zayne is a man who craves control, not over anyone else, just over himself. He had to, because if he was void of control, there would be cracks and the cracks he could not let you see. If you saw his cracks, how could you trust him as your doctor?
He had let you down once, all those years ago when he left you, abandoned you, even if it was not his choice. But he had a choice now and he would use it to make sure he never let you down again.
So, every single crack he kept to himself, stayed up later, worked later until he could fill them all up again before he could see you. However, as he scribbled down notes on his research, the memories of his nightmares played in his mind, taunting him, punishing him, and he came to accept he deserved it. He shouldn't have let all those people come to die, he was a doctor, and a doctor's role was to save a life, not to let it fade away, yet with every year, the list of his letdowns grew.
Everyone told him that it was expected: that to save a life, you were bound to lose a few; it was how life worked. But not for Zayne, not at all, because with every name that appeared on that list, he was afraid it was a name closer to yours.
He couldn't have that, not when he gave up the life he wanted for yours to prevail.
You, on the other hand, were becoming increasingly worried and slightly frustrated with your doctor because this was the third time you tried to coax him out of his office. You have tried everything; cake, macaroons, sweets... all came to a disappointing ending. You thought that trying something as harmless as sweets wouldn't highlight your increasing worry, and it was small enough so you could get a small look at him.
It had almost been two weeks now, and so you made your way to the hospital. You just wanted to know that he was okay and maybe scold him slightly for shutting you out... again.
Once the doors slid open, you gently greeted Yvonne and walked to Zayne's office after making sure he had no more patients to see. You looked down at the box, a small muffin for Zayne, before inhaling and knocking on the door.
Gosh, you hope he doesn't reject you because as your knuckles collide with the door, It dawns on you that he might be avoiding you because you might have done something wrong.
"Come in."
You gulp down and hold the small box a little tighter in your hand, causing it to crease slightly before opening the door. You shifted on your feet as he was too immersed in his work to even look up at you.
"Hi." You greet him gently and slip the muffin on the table, and his eyes instantly break away from the paper at the sound of your voice
"I thought that since you wouldn't come to me for the sweet treats, I would just come to you because I know you cannot go too long without them." You say lightly and place yourself on the chair opposite his desk.
"Thank you." He says softly and looks between you and his work a couple of times before bunching the papers together in a neat pile and slipping them away. "Did you just come from a mission?" You raise a brow. "Are you not going to explain why I haven't seen you in two weeks? I know being a doctor is exhausting, Zayne, but you normally tell me ahead of time-"
"I didn't want to worry you over something foolish. I have it under control."
"Under control? What is under control? Why aren't you talking to me? You know that I am here." The words fall out, conveying your desperation. You had felt empty without him, alone, and you didn't want to feel that again. "It does not concern you, Y/N." He retorts, "If I thought you needed to know, I would have told you." You bite back your words and nod "Alright.." You sit there silently. You would've typically left, but something told you that this time, you needed to stay, that he needed you.
After a few beats of silence, you try again. "You don't have to keep it all to yourself... I know it may not concern me, but that doesn't mean you have to lock it away."
He tensed up. He hated how you could still see through him, even after all this time. He pulled away from his computer, which he was only looking at to control his anxiety for nearly scaring you away. He released the tension in his shoulders and took the muffin. "I lost a patient... two weeks ago."
Sylus
'What a fool' is all he could think as he sat in his office, piles of vinyl scattered across his usually clean office. No tune or genre was calming him. After all this time, after sensing you like he did, after preparing this life for you, he had scared you away.
He couldn't bear to think that because of who he was, his reputation, and who you believed he was made him lose you, not after all this time, not after the promise the two of you shared, not after what you went through.
He was a fool for pushing you too quick, too hard; his excitement and desperation had blinded him; why was he so hellbent on making you remember if he could just build new memories with you? Foolish.
You not remembering a thing, he could get behind, it made sense, but your hatred, your disgust. That he could not get behind, no matter what you believed about him. All he wanted to do was to have you in his arms and to show you what he had made. It might not be the cave you had a lifetime ago, but it was spectacular in this lifetime. A lifetime he built for you, and you didn't even want it.
He supposed he could understand. You did think he killed your family, even though he would never. All he would do would be to keep you safe. It pained him to understand your point of view, to see him as a monster. He was in his last life, so it only made sense that he was in this one.
But he had made you fall in love with him once, and back then, he was truly a monster, so he could make you fall for him again. He just had to give you the choice to choose him.
So, over the next few weeks, he let you choose him, come back to him. Not pushing or pulling, he didn't need to; the door was always open, and you knew that.
That didn't stop his heart from doing flips in his chest each time he saw you walk through the base's doors.
Tonight, you were also expected to come through the doors; he had the twins make sure the base was clean and tidy, that your room was prepared, and that security was at its highest. It was something he always did when you were coming over.
However, you never showed; you were on a mission, so maybe you went home and forgot; that would be reasonable... except come rain or shine, injury or no injury, if you said you were coming, you were always there.
He knew there was something more to your tardiness; without another thought, he sent Mephisto to look for you, and when he came back, the air was knocked out from Sylus' lungs.
You were found passed out, just outside of the base; it didn't take him a second to cross the base and have you in his arms "Oh, kitten.." He brushed the hair from your face, his heart breaking as you weakly opened your eyes.
"Sylus, I am sorry, I tried to call, but..."
"Shh, it's okay. You're safe now." He tried to use his usual tone with you, but his voice was softer, almost as if he was trying his hardest not to let it break.
He worked quickly to get you patched up, swallowing down his worries and quite possibly his tears as he did so, not even letting the twins near you. He sat with you, putting on your favourite vinyl softly in the background as he waited for you to wake up, not leaving your side, his hand placed on yours, afraid that if he let you go, he would lose you like he almost did tonight and the guilt was eating him alive.
"Stop looking at me like that." You mutter and glance toward him. "You're looking at me like your cat just died." You smirk slightly, and he lets out a chuckle "Kitten, why didn't you ask me to pick you up?"
"I assumed you had business to attend to-" "You should've called me. What happened if you never made it here, if we never found you, if you never came back to me, do you think I could live with myself."
You slowly sit up and look toward him "Sylus, I will always come back to you, always. I will always find myself here. You need to trust me on that."
"I do. It's just tonight seeing you like that made me feel-" "Scared?"
He huffed through his nose and pinched the bridge of it "Something like that..." He brushed the hair out of your face "Call me next time." You nod and smile "I will."
A few days later you were back fighting wanderers, but this time Sylus was by your side, his evol swirling around his arm and his hand "You sure about this, Sweetie?"
You nod "I'm Sure, I am safe by your side."
Sylus smiled; you were safe with him; you chose him, and fighting beside you was the greatest honour to have, so he made sure you left the mission without a scratch.
Xavier
It wasn't unusual for you to not see or hear from Xavier for days; you were sure he would pop up at one of the most convenient moments to be by your side. Or, pop up just before you were assigned another partner by Captian Jenna.
This is what happened; before you, the captain, could even mutter another person's name, Xavier appeared, literally faster than the speed of light beside you. Jenna sighed and cleared her throat. "Y/N, your partner will be Xavier for today's mission.
You didn't even look at him before you went to collect what you needed from the information room, and Xavier didn't seem to mind this. He just followed you obediently and read through the information quickly.
You were brought out of your focus when you suddenly heard his voice.
"Aren't you even going to ask where I was for the past few days?" He questioned and tilted his head, unsure why you're not interrogating him like you usually do.
You shrug and turn back to the tablet sitting in your hands. "Why should I? I trust you. If you want to let me know, you will when you need to."
To you, it was just a simple establishment of trust that you assumed you both knew of, but to Xavier, it was everything, and quite clearly, as little lights started to float around him, there was a slight smile on his face.
Trust was a big deal to him; after meeting you for the second time, he almost felt guilty about how angry you were at him for leaving you behind like he did. Not only that, but he failed his planet and the people on it, as well as the people he dragged here, to try and save you... He had failed them all and probably even you to the point where he believed he wasn't even worthy of trust.
You two didn't make a comment about it from that point. It was almost like, 'What is said in the information room stays in the information room.'
You watched him stand there and fiddle with the protocore between his fingers before, like always, crushing it into oblivion.
"Why do you always do that?" You ask, but he does not answer; he just walks you home. "Xavier, are you feeling okay? You've been silent the whole walk home.."
"I'm alright." He shot you a small smile like he always did and went inside. It was yet another protocore that was a waste, another step further from home, another disappointment to the people relying on him... but, at least, you trusted him.
So, he walked down the stairs and to your apartment and knocked on the door. He didn't even have to say a word, you just let him walk in and sit down, plating up some food for him.
You sit opposite and begin to eat, speaking about trivial things with him before he speaks up, "I don't expect you to understand me fully, but I need to find something, and I can't find it, and it's driving me mad."
"I can help-" you pipe in, but he just shakes his head, causing you to deflate, but you understood him in a way; you had things to do, personal missions to complete that you wouldn't want anyone to touch either. You clear your throat. "Well, if you ever need someone to help cheer you up or clear your mind, you can come here. If I can't help you with your mission, I want to at least help you after them." He smiles and looks at you, placing a star-shaped dumpling into your bowl and nods. "That'll be nice..."

Hey also we should care very much about what's happening with Lil Nas X btw. According to LA law, what he did (takin a walk in undies [later nude] and cowboy boots) does not meet the requirements for indecent exposure and therefore does not warrant arrest. The claims that he charged officers were made without proper evidence such as body cam footage. If there is evidence, it has not been released to the public. Either way, his actions do not warrant four fuckin felonies including three counts of battery on an officer and one count of resisting an executive officer, especially considering that he was clearly having a mental episode (a fact which is also supported by his dad). Benefit of the doubt to the charges, an unarmed man is being wrongfully charged more than he should for alleged crimes committed in response to a non-crime. Realistically, he is facing these charges because he is a black queer man experiencing a crisis.
I've been thinking I really want to do something to try and help folks over in Palestine, so while I can't donate I want to at least help link to some of the general charities for folks there:

Thank you so so much for answering the poll!! i have opened @scribblemesylus for my lads work! please support!! (first draft is going to be released today after work!!)
After reading Elysium, this part legit makes me want to cry.
B/c these are obviously not casual remarks on Sylus' end.
We now know for a fact that Sylus has waited and yearned for MC for years prior to the main story, and was carefully planning out his reunion with her. And — at least in my own current headcanon — he built up and established his stronghold in the N109 Zone with the eventual aim of ruling it together with MC, side by side. Two flowers in the same soil once more.
So this must have hurt. And I also do believe that a part of him worries over the fact that MC perceives him and Onychinus as the bad guys on the "dark side", and how this might impact their relationship long term. After all, he is a criminal, whilst she is essentially a cop.
But, to end on an uplifting note, that is why this line
is so so meaningful and impactful. It is MC indirectly assuring Sylus that she does not care that he is on the "dark side". She wants all of him, including the "thorns". She can handle the the hardship and the danger that his lifestyle brings. Because she loves him wholeheartedly, without reservation.
I kind of died for a while; how would you feel if I started writing for LADS?
should i write for lads?
OMG YES
please no
This still has a few days to go (thank you everyone who voted!! 386 votes is crazy!!) but i just wanted to let everyone know that i have an account specifically for LADS content! its @scribblemesylus so i hope all of you can support me there! i have afew ideas to post about and i will start soon so stay tuned!

Kim Namjoon:
"So we've come to this now? Walking out of fights?"
Namjoon conveniently chose to ignore your words, continuing to pack his bag quietly.
"Namjoon, can you...can you just talk to me for a moment, please?" you pleaded, running a finger across your eyebrow in frustration.
It had been a long day, and a fight with him was the last thing you wanted, the last thing you needed at this point. But before you knew it, Namjoon and you found yourselves in the middle of an argument over an extremely petty matter, harsh words flying across the room like dirty confetti.
"Babe, just-"
"Don't touch me," he snarled, brushing your hand off of his arm when you tried to stop him from packing his stuff.
"You've said enough, and I can't take this shit anymore. You always do this, (Y/n). You always act as if the weight of the whole world is only on your shoulders and that only you can feel stressed and lonely and everything else you were complaining about today."
"Complaining?" you asked in disbelief, a sharp pain stabbing you in the chest at his words. "I just wanted to express my feelings to you, Namjoon! It's been a long day, can I not talk to my boyfriend about my day?"
"You can!" he exploded unexpectedly, turning to face you and giving you a bit of a fright at his sudden movement.
"You can talk to me about your day, you can. But the problem with you is that you don't understand the difference between talking and blaming."
"What do you mean blaming?" you frowned.
"Really?" Namjoon placed a hand on his hip, giving you a look.
"Really, (Y/n)? 'Nobody is even there for me anymore. You're always busy, you can never make time for me. I'm lonely. I can't talk to my friends cuz they're all changed and not the same anymore.'" Namjoon recited your words from earlier. "Shall I continue?"
"How is that blaming? I didn't blame anyone! I just told you how I felt!"
"No, (Y/n)," he shook his head. "This is what you always do. You don't start any conversation with the intention to just vent your feelings. You always jump into how everyone is wrong and only you are the poor soul in the world who is hurt by everyone's wrongdoings. Get over yourself."
"Namjoon," you whispered, not knowing what to say.
Had you really been that way? All you knew was that it had been an extremely depressing and stressful week for you, and every time you tried to talk to Namjoon, he was busy with work. Your friends too began to betray you in ways you did not want to get into at that moment, but the words that Namjoon spoke were nothing less than knifes slicing right through your skin.
He turned back to the bag, aimlessly dumping a pair of clothes and his charger into it.
"You don't always get to play the victim card, (Y/n). Please get over yourself. You're not the only one who has bad days. Are you really that selfish that all you could think about is yourself?"
He suddenly turned to face you.
"Did you not once think about me? Did you never think that even I would want to come home after finally getting some time off from work so that I can talk to my girlfriend about my issues and struggles and maybe feel good about it? I don't ever blame you for not being there? For not asking me about my problems? Do I? Have I said anything until now?"
Your head dipped in shame, not just feeling fully hurt by everything he said, but also knowing that he was partly right. You wanted to make it right, but you did not know how. Yet, before you could say anything, Namjoon zipped up the bag, throwing it over his back and walking towards the nightstand to take his phone.
"You really need to get over yourself. The world doesn't revolve only around you. Stop being so selfish and victimising yourself every single time. I'm not gonna take your shit every time."
Kim Seokjin:
"Babe," you tapped his shoulder as you continued to follow him around the house. "Babe!"
"Yes," he nodded dismissively, not even bothering to turn to look at you as he pulled out random stuff from the cupboard and began to rearrange them in a useless attempt to look preoccupied.
"Are you mad at me?"
"No."
"Then why won't you talk to me?" you questioned, your voice progressively falling into a sad tone with each moment that passed by.
"I am."
"But...but," you looked around desperately, as if it would help you find the words that you wanted so badly to say to him. "But it's not normal."
"It's normal."
"Jin," you whined, walking closer and pulling at the fabric of his sweatshirt. "Talk to me, please."
"I am," he repeated, looking as disinterested as ever as he shut the door of the cupboard and began to walk back to the living room.
"You're being mean," you mumbled, still choosing to follow him into every room that his feet took him to. "Did I do something wrong?"
"No."
"But you haven't even looked at me properly in the last few hours!"
At that, his movements came to an abrupt stop, his head turning to face you rather dramatically.
"And you still didn't get the hint?"
A low gasp left your chest, plopping down onto the sofa beside him since that was what your plan was before he hit you with this statement.
"For what?"
He chuckled, although it was evident there was nothing that he found funny.
"Maybe I just don't feel like talking to you, or-" once again, he turned to look at you straight in the eye, "look at you...properly. Not everything is about you. Go and, I don't know....live, I guess."
"That's really fucking rude," you spoke, not even caring to hold yourself back. How dare he? After treating you like a stranger for the past few hours, you were not about to take this shit from him.
"Nice choice of words, Jin. You could have told me what you really intended to say, which clearly was to get a life. Why keep that back? You've already proven to be nothing but a butthole for the last few hours, why be nice now?"
"I'm not trying to be nice," he snapped back, but before he could open his mouth to speak again, you held a hand up straight to his face, shutting him up effectively.
"You're telling me to get a life? Alright, cool. Thanks for that, Jin. From now, don't be the amazing boyfriend you were just a week ago begging me to take some time off to spend your holidays with you. And I know that not everything is about me, so hey, go enjoy your amazing life, and I will too. Wasting my time running behind you is clearly what you don't want me to do."
Min Yoongi:
"Yeah, that's fine."
"What's fine?"
"The dress," Yoongi murmured disinterestedly. "Take it if you want."
"Yoongi," you sighed, walking towards the plastic chair that he was sitting on. "Did you even look at me?"
"Yeah," he nodded, his eyes fully trained on his phone as he continued to type on the screen.
"Yoongi!"
His fingers stopped, and you watched as he closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
"What?"
"Does this look like a dress to you?"
Finally, his eyes trailed over your outfit, noticing that you were wearing a pair of dirty grey jeans and a yellow top shirt with flowers on it. He thought you were wanting to buy a dress for the party that evening.
"Oh," he stated lamely. "Sorry."
"Are you...what - are you even interested?" You asked him in frustration, pulling the hair tie off of your wrist and tying your hair up. The anger that was building up inside of you was beginning to make you feel hot and clammy in the small clothes shop that you brought him to.
"Yeah," he replied simply.
You sighed shakily, not wanting to make this into an argument, yet not knowing exactly how to not do that.
"You were not even looking at the previous outfits I tried, were you? Why'd you say the dress is fine?"
He shrugged, looking back down at his phone.
"I dunno," he mumbled under his breath, "thought you wanted a dress. But this is fine, good thing you didn't go for a dress."
"Why?" Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"Can you just get whatever you want and then we can leave?" His voice was laced with a tone of annoyance, his eyes naturally drifting to the exit of the store.
"No, what do you mean its a good thing I didn't go for a dress?"
"(Y/n)," he clicked his tongue, running a hand across his face. "Look, it just doesn't suit you, man. I don't know why you have this weird obsession with those kind of dresses, they make you look pregnant."
"What?" You couldn't stop the gasp that left you. "What the hell?"
"No, look, I know how you are. Don't get me wrong, I am not calling you fat. I am saying that the cut of the dress is very weird in the stomach area, it bloats out and makes it look like you're pregnant. I'm not saying you're fat, so don't go down that path. I'm just saying that the dress does not suit you."
"How long have you kept that inside of you, huh?" you questioned him, already feeling too hurt by his words. "It's been a couple of months since I have been wanting those 'dresses' that I know that now how much you think it looks horrid on me, and you only choose to say this now?"
His face changed into one that showed nothing but irritation.
"I knew you'd say something like this. That's why I kept my mouth shut all this time. Can we just go? Or you know what, I'll go. You can continue shopping and get whatever you want."
"What the hell, Yoongi?" you said in disbelief. "Why are you being so rude? What's wrong with you?"
"Look," he sighed, standing up from the chair and looking away from you. "I just wanted to rest, okay? I didn't wanna go out, shopping, movie, lunch, this or that. I didn't want any of that. I even told you. But you insisted and dragged me out here. So don't blame me if I look like I don't wanna be here. Before we left, I told you I didn't wanna go, but you forced me. So deal with it."
"I forced you?"
"Yeah, you insisted and made all those faces and quite literally blackmailed me by saying that I don't love you anymore. You were so wrong to say that, dude."
"I was joking when I said that, Yoongi," you whispered. "I just wanted to go out with you. We haven't been out in almost a month now and we have to go for Hoseok's birthday party anyway, I thought we could get some things for that."
"Well, I didn't, okay? And if you wanted to get stuff for his birthday, you didn't have to say that I don't love you anymore. That's totally unrelated, if you wanted to spend time with me instead of getting stuff to prepare for his birthday, that would be different. I didn't wanna go out, do any of that stuff that you just said. So please, take your time, do all that, I will be in the car."
Jung Hoseok:
Words couldn't describe just how painful it felt to watch Hoseok withdraw from your touch. The people seated at the table fell into an uncomfortable silence, the abrupt action making everyone furrow their eyebrows in confusion and worry.
"I told you to stop doing that, (Y/n)."
"Doing what?" you mumbled rather lamely, not even knowing why you said that when you knew just what he was talking about.
"Stop touching me again and again! God...I-" Hoseok sighed rather loudly, dropping the spoon onto the plate and standing up from the chair.
"Sorry guys, please excuse me."
"Hobi-"
Before you could get out another word, the man was at least three feet away from the table, and all you could do was watch in dismay as he stormed out of the restaurant.
"What's going on?" Jimin asked softly, being the one right next to you. His tone was rather soft, as it was obvious how incredibly awkward and embarrassing this was for you. "Shall I go talk to him?"
"No," you whispered with a shake of your head. "He's just a little sensitive today."
"Did you guys have a fight?" asked Jungkook from across the table, followed by a soft hit to the arm by Namjoon which served as a warning to not cross it.
"Why don't you go talk to him?" the leader suggested, concern apparent in his tone. "We're here, don't worry about us."
"Uh..." you trailed off, looking back at the door to the exit before nodding. "Yeah, maybe."
"Take your time," Jimin urged with a kind smile, patting you softly on your shoulder. "Talk to him, he will understand. Sort it out properly."
With a stiff nod, you stood up from your chair, making your way towards the exit, knowing that all eyes at the table and even around were trained on you.
It took you about five minutes to find Hoseok, who was leaning against the wall of a building further away from the restaurant, and whatever held you back in that moment just...left, a strange sense of shock and urgency fuelling your next movements.
"What the hell?!" you exclaimed, reaching him in no more than three large steps, your hands moving on their own accord as they snatched the cigarette straight out of his mouth.
"(Y/n)!" Hoseok yelled out, his eyes looking down at the bud that was now in a small wet puddle near your foot.
"What's wrong with you?!"
"What's wrong with me?" you repeated, your tone now matching his. "What's wrong with you Hobi? You smoke?"
"Yeah!" He shouted, pushing your arm off of him that went to grab onto his jacket. "Yeah I smoke! With you on my bloody back all the goddamn time, I have to!"
You let his words sink in, subconsciously taking a step back.
"What part of 'stay away from me' do you not get, (Y/n)? I'm not like you! I need my fucking space and if you didn't get the hint until now, let me spell it out for you! Stay the fuck away from me! I don't want to resolve this fight, I don't. I'm fucking tired and I don't have it in me to deal with your bullshit anymore! Just give me my space, man!"
It took a good moment for you to swallow that painful lump in your throat, the tears not even caring to ask for permission as they simply slipped out of your eyes.
In a hopeless attempt at trying to make this better, you raised your hand up mindlessly, wanting to reach out to him.
"It's been three days, Hobi," you whispered sadly, not really knowing what else you could do. At this point, the man in front of you was doing nothing but add to the misery that you were already drowning in. "What more can I do to sort this-"
"I just told you," he spat through gritted teeth, both hands now clutching his hair in complete frustration. "I don't want to sort this out! Let it be this way. If this is the end, so be it! I don't want to do anything about the fight and our situation right now. So just leave me the fuck alone!"
"What do you mean 'if this is the end'?" you cried, your breaths now ragged and harsh. "Are you breaking up with me?"
"Look, (Y/n)," Hoseok blew out air through his mouth, a very clear sign that every part of this moment was irritating him beyond control.
"I said, I don't want to do anything about this right now. We're fighting, I'm crazy mad, you're upset and crying. I don't want to do anything about it. Just let me be. Let us be. I don't want to do anything, neither end it nor make it better. Just...just let me be. Please, stop following me everywhere and calling me all the damn time. I need space, I don't know what else to say to you if this isn't clear enough for you. I don't want to be near you right now."

Kim Namjoon:
"Babe, where are my glasses?"
Namjoon wandered aimlessly into the room with a book in his hand, his eyes scanning the desk and then the table near the bed.
"Are you..." he trailed off, looking at the laptop screen and slowly moving out of sight, "in class?"
"Mhm," you nodded, swallowing down the last of your sandwich before wiping the side of your mouth.
"The camera's not on, don't worry," you reached for your mug of coffee and pointed to his head.
"Your glasses are on your hea-"
"Babe," he slowly whispered, a dreadful finger reaching out to your laptop screen. "I think your camera's not off."
"What are you talking about?" you frowned, turning in your chair so that you were fully facing the screen. Just as you noticed your own reflection in the little box at the corner of the meeting room, you heard a very amused chuckle reach your ears.
"He might be right about that one, Ms. (Y/n)."
Your eyes widened in horror, turning the camera off and muting the system in a flash, your heart racing straight out of your chest.
Although muted, you could see the rest of the students covering their mouths as they chuckled at the scene.
Namjoon's lips pursed into a tight line, shaking his head at you as you looked back towards your empty plate where the crumbs of the sandwich that you had devoured in front of everyone now sat to taunt you.
"Oh my gosh," you whispered, looking back at Namjoon with a nervous look. "Did they just watch me eat my sandwich and scroll through Instagram?"
"You were scrolling through Instagram during class?" Namjoon gasped lowly. "With your camera on?"
"I didn't know it was on!"
"Ms. (Y/n)?"
Your head dipped in shame, wondering if you should unmute yourself and apologize, or pretend as though something happened to your systems and you couldn't be a part of the class.
"Was the sandwich good?"
Namjoon snorted at the voice of your professor, settling down on the bed and smiling brightly at your guilty expression.
"Answer him, babe."
You hesitantly reached out and unmuted yourself.
"I'm so sorry about that, Professor. I didn't know the camera was on."
"That's alright, as long as you promise that this would be the first and the last time that I see you eating and using your phone during an online class."
"Of course, I promise. I apologize once again," you murmured, shaking your head shamefully as you saw the other students laugh silently.
Once muted and a few minutes into your professor going back to the topic that he was explaining, you looked across at Namjoon who gazed at you with a hint of amusement lining his eyes.
"You wouldn't have noticed if I didn't come in here," he pointed out, reaching towards you to gently wipe away a few crumbs that were at the corner of your mouth.
A strange sound left your throat as you crawled onto the bed and buried your head into the pillow.
"That was so embarrassing!"
He laughed whole-heartedly, patting your back and falling onto the mattress beside you.
"It happens," he tried to comfort you with a soft voice. "I suppose you have learned your lesson, hmm?
"I am never -" you emphasized with a punch to the bed, "doing that again."
"Good," Namjoon patted your back fondly, laughing once more before slipping off of the bed.
"Now concentrate, or he might make you the victim of his next question."
Kim Seokjin:
The sound of the door clicking shut made you turn, placing your pen down as you caught sight of Jin walking into your room with a sheepish look and a spoon in his hand.
"Is your mic on?" he mouthed, wide eyes looking at your computer screen and then back at your face to gauge if he was in trouble for walking in.
You smiled softly, shaking your head and nodding so that he could walk closer to you. You reached out to turn the camera off just as Jin walked into the frame, a soft sigh leaving his chest as he settled on another chair beside you.
"Aigo," he groaned, stretching his back a little before holding this spoon out for you to taste.
"I burned my tongue with my coffee this morning and I can't taste whether there is enough salt in the gravy. Can you check it for me?"
"Okay," you giggled, watching in fascination as he blew onto the spoon to make sure that it was not too hot for you before feeding you the maroon liquid.
"Mmm!" your eyes widened at the delicious taste before they scrunched shut when you felt the stinging burn on the sides of your tongue.
"What is it? Too hot?"
"So spicy!" you inhaled air through your mouth, fanning at your tongue and reaching for your bottle.
"...you answer that for me, (Y/n)?"
You looked at the screen in surprise, wiping at your running nose before panicking and reading through the contents displayed in front of you.
"(Y/n)?"
"Jagiya," Jin urged you to unmute yourself by pointing to the button on the screen.
"No! I don't know what the question was!"
"If you're speaking, I can't hear you. Please unmute yourself," you heard the professor speak.
With frantic fingers, you typed into the chat box that your microphone wasn't working properly and that you were trying to get it fixed.
"Okay," you heard your professor say. "Can someone else answer that for me while (Y/n) gets that sorted?"
You huffed, leaning back in your seat and wiping at the sweat that had formed over the top of your lip.
"I knew it was a bad time to come in," Jin murmured guiltily, taking the bottle of water from your hand that you had still not opened and raising it to your lips for you to take a sip.
"I'll get the spice sorted, maybe add some cream. How much longer until your break?"
"About 25 minutes," you looked at the time on your phone. "I can't take this lecture any more, Jinnie."
"Which one is it?"
"Math," you whined, looking at the screen as your professor seemed to be solving at least the fiftieth sum of the day.
Jin laughed knowingly, patting your head and getting up to leave the room.
"You finish that up, I'll get lunch sorted for us."
Min Yoongi:
"That's interesting."
"Ah!" you shrieked in surprise, turning around abruptly only to come face to face with Yoongi.
"Dude!"
"Shhh," he pointed to your screen with a chuckle. "She's explaining that so well, even I found it interesting. No wonder you like Physics."
"You scared me, Yoongi!" you gripped onto your chest, glancing back to double-check if your microphone and camera were turned off. "What if they saw you?"
"I looked for that before I could even come up here, jagi. I was standing by your door for the past ten minutes."
"Really?"
He hummed, reaching across the back of the chair and hugging you, letting his chin rest on the top of your head.
"I missed you, baby."
"I missed you even more, Yoongles," you placed a soft kiss on his forearm that was holding you close to him. "How was work?"
"It was decent," he shrugged, letting out a little wince when he stretched his muscles. "Didn't really move a lot so my shoulders hurt."
"Awww," you cooed, pulling on his arm so that he could walk around the chair. You stood up and he quickly sat down on your chair, pulling you along with him so that you were seated on his lap.
"How's classes today?"
"Pretty good. Most of the morning lectures were canceled, this is the last one for today."
"Any pending work?"
"Nope," you smiled proudly, melting against him as he kissed the side of your head.
"I'm so proud of you," Yoongi murmured against the side of your head, watching as you reached out and lowered the volume of the lecture.
"This your favorite?"
"Mhm," you smiled at the screen, "Quantum mechanics."
"My little genius," Yoongi spoke against your skin with so much pride that you could feel it with every touch. "You're going to ace this degree."
"I know I am," you giggled, patting his knee and then turning to face him.
"Give me another half an hour? I'll join you once I'm done with this lecture."
"But I don't wanna leave youuuu," he shook his head cutely, snuggling closer into your embrace. "I've missed you a lot today."
"I have missed you even more, my love," you replied with a grin. "But this class is important. You know she doesn't give us these notes once the live lecture is done. We're supposed to pay attention during the class."
"Can't you take them from another friend?"
"I'm the friend that everyone takes the notes from," you chuckled, your heart leaping with joy when Yoongi laughed along with you at your words.
"That's funny," he stated, shaking his head before letting you sit back on the chair.
"I'll take a shower, you should be done by then."
"What's for dinner?" you wondered out loud.
"I'm too tired to cook."
"Want me to cook us something?"
His eyes widened. "Would you?"
"Why not?" you smiled up at him, reaching for his hand and squeezing it softly.
"Let me get done with this class, and I'll cook us something nice."
"Is this where I say, 'I love you'?"
You nodded with a grin. "Yessir."
Throwing his head back with laughter at your cuteness, Yoongi squished your cheeks with his hand and placed a sweet kiss on your mouth.
"I love you, my little genius."
Jung Hoseok:
A confused sound left you when you raised your phone to see who had texted you.
"Why's she texting me?" you wondered out loud, unlocking your phone to read through the text.
"There's a half-naked man behin- oh my GOD HOBI!" your eyes widened in horror, reaching out and shutting your laptop so fast you were sure the screen must have cracked at the force.
A single breath left the man's lips, his leg held up in the air mid-step, a similar horrified expression mirroring yours. With nothing but a towel covering his lower body, Hoseok stayed as still as he could, feeling like he was caught red-handed doing something criminal.
But all he had done was walk towards the bathroom, as the water supply to the guest bathroom was cut off.
"Was the camera on?"
"Yes!"
"Did they see my face?"
"I don't know! My friend texted me that there was a half-naked man behind me!"
"I didn't know your camera would be on!" He yelled back defensively, covering his bare chest, feeling exposed even though your laptop was shut.
"Oh my goodness, Hobi," you groaned, "everyone will talk about this now!"
"I'm sure they didn't see my face, I was facing the other way."
"It's not about you," you covered your face with a sigh. "These girls from my class, ugh," you groaned, "you don't know how they are. They'll go on and on about how there was a half-naked man in my room. I'm never going to see the end of it."
"I think you can handle that much," he suddenly smirked, straightening his spine and then lowering his towel just a little bit. "Can't you, babygirl?"
"Oh my gosh," you gasped, turning around so that you were facing away from him. "Don't call me that."
"Don't call you what?" His smirk deepened. "Babygirl?"
"Hobi!"
"C'mon babygirl," he teased you, walking closer and letting his fingertips tuck a piece of hair behind your ear.
"You were in the middle of your class. Don't let a half-naked man stop you from learning. You seem like the intelligent kind, am I not right?"
"Uhm," you breathed out nervously, still not used to his touch. "I guess."
"I know you're smart," Hoseok cooed, bending just a little and pulling your chin until you were looking at him. Your eyes stole a glance at his glistening chest before looking back up in panic.
"If they ask," Hoseok himself let his eyes trail over your form before letting a lazy smile take over his expression, "go tell them you're my lady now."
Letting out a shaky breath was all you could do when Hoseok left your side to walk into the bathroom, leaving you all bothered and in a mess, and definitely not in a position to be a part of the rest of your class.
You could come up with an explanation for that later...right?
Park Jimin:
"You could definitely work on the pronunciation a little bit, and as for the project, I am very, very impressed."
You smiled across at your trainer, watching intently as she went through a few more points that she had noted down for you.
"Your progress is looking very good at this point, and I'm sure we can work together towards this language test. So from our next class, we would only be talking in Japanese. Alright?"
"Sounds alright to me," you nodded, a nervous giggle bubbling past your lips. "And what about the-"
"Baby!"
You jumped in fear, turning to face the door that burst open, Jimin's arms raised in the air dramatically.
"Look what I got for you!"
"Uh..." you looked back at your trainer with an apologetic smile. "Give me a minute, please."
"Sure," she chuckled, watching as Jimin slowly realized that he had interrupted your language class. The man bowed respectfully, to which your trainer nodded and greeted him with a friendly smile.
"Oops," Jimin's bit his tongue, looking across at you sheepishly before walking closer and handing over a bag to you. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize you'd be in class."
"It's okay," you reached for his hand and pulled him closer so that he could come into the frame.
"He's Jimin," you introduced him to your trainer in Japanese, watching how her eyes widened at the introduction. "He's my boyfriend. He helps me practice Japanese."
"Oh, I see," her eyebrows were raised in fascination, nodding, and responding back in Japanese as well.
"Nice to meet you, Jimin."
"Pleasure to finally meet you," Jimin bowed once again. "(Y/n) always speaks so highly of you."
"Oh," your trainer couldn't hide her surprise at that, looking back at you with a grin. "Is that so, (Y/n)?"
"Yes, definitely," you giggled shyly. "I always seem to learn a lot from you. You're a wonderful teacher."
"Well, it seems like I don't really do much. You seem to be coming back with even more knowledge than what I teach you in our classes. I now know who's the real teacher here," she pointed towards Jimin with a smile.
"Ah, no, not at all," Jimin laughed and waved his hand in disagreement. "I just help her practice."
A loud and joyous laugh came from the computer before she nodded once more.
"Anyway, since we're done for the day, I shall see you next Wednesday, (Y/n). Remember, we will converse in Japanese going forward, alright?"
"Yes," you smiled across at her, waving at her as she said goodbye.
"Damn," Jimin chuckled, shaking his head before settling down and pointing at the bag. "I got you some pastries."
"That was quite a dramatic entry," you stated, reaching into the bag to pull out the treats. "She seemed impressed with your Japanese."
"Baby, everyone is impressed by me," he flicked over some imaginary long hair off of his shoulder before bursting into a fit of giggles.
"That would be true."
"Nah," he shook his head, before taking one of the pastries that you offered to him. "Anyway, we should practice some more Japanese. Anime night?"
"What are we watching?"
"Jujutsu Kaisen? There's a few more episodes left from when we stopped last week."
Kim Taehyung:
The lecture was as interesting as history could get, which was only a little. Your professor seemed to be in his own little bubble, somehow fascinated by the heroic activities and dates that you could never understand how someone could find fun to learn, a bright expression on his face everytime he went onto the next slide and explain more about the subject that you were least interested in studying.
The best part about his subject was that he never asked questions. He took his alloted fourty five minutes to talk about what he spent the last 33 years learning, his poorly organised presentations only giving you and the rest of the students the opportunity to zone out - as long as your cameras were on. That was his only condition, to have every single student's camera on for the entirety of his class.
You usually took this time to simply look at everyone in your class. There were peeps who looked as bored as you were, a few appeared to be genuinely interested, while a bunch of them had their heads facing down, wanting to give the impression that they were taking notes, whereas everyone knew that they were either doom scrolling or texting one another.
With a huff, you leaned back into your chair and wondered how you were going to pass the remaining twenty minutes of this class. When you looked at your own video that was on the corner of your screen, you noticed two legs popping out horizontally from the side of your chair. Turning around in your chair, you noticed Taehyung lying down on your bed in a pair of shorts, his calves and feet clearly still visible to everyone in your class.
"I'm so tired," Taehyung groaned, his face stuffed into your pillow. You also noticed his bag which he dropped by the door, a tiny smile growing on your face when you realized that he came over to stay the night.
"My class is still going on," you murmured, moving your laptop and your chair so that the camera was only capturing your face and the window behind you. Just before you could turn to face Taehyung again, you noticed your friend smiling at the screen.
You were sure it was nothing that your professor said, so you picked up your phone to text her. Surprisingly, she beat you to it and before you could ask her why she was smiling, she sent you a picture that she took of her screen, where you were had a bored expression on your face, and right behind you, Taehyung was just entering your room, a fond smile on his face when he looked at you.
You covered your mouth to hide your grin, conscious of the fact that everyone could still see you. You briefly turned off your camera to hop towards the bed and show Taehyung the picture.
"Oh no," he giggled, taking your phone to zoom into the picture. "Shit."
"It's okay, I don't think many people noticed," you smiled at him, pulling his cheek before hugging his body close to you with a satisfied hum.
"I missed you my babyyyy," he cooed, squeezing you and moving around the bed with you locked in his arms. "Let's have a movie night, Jimin gave me a CD and told me we need to watch it together."
"You always want to watch what he recommends and not what I recommend," you pouted, moving back so that you could see his face better.
"We always watch what you recommend," he shot back, his eyebrows furrowing. "Don't you remember making all the boys sit in the lounge when you forced them to watch the movie you wanted to see?"
"I didn't force them!" you gasped defensively. "Namjoon said that movie was on his watch list for so long!"
"Hobi hyung and Jungkook fell asleep not even half an hour into the movie, babe. You know a movie is boring when Jungkook falls asleep."
"Are you saying my choices are boring?" your eyes narrowed suspiciously.
"Not most of the time," Taehyung laughed and pulled your face into his chest. "I'm your choice too, so they're not always boring."
"You don't always get to have the last word," you muttered into his t-shirt, shaking your head at him although you were very satisfied with the distraction from your class.
"Babe," he suddenly spoke in a serious voice, "you think they recognised me?"
"Who?"
"The people in your class?" With you still in his arms, he picked up your phone which he had dropped, opening up the picture that your friend had sent him. Even when he zoomed into the picture, all he could see was a blurred face with a white smudge that was supposedly his teeth when he smiled across at the sight of you.
"Your hair could give it away," you pointed at the curly mess on his head, "but it won't be too much of a problem, they don't know yet."
"Are you planning on telling them?"
"Should I? I don't know," you shrugged in response.
A soft ding made you both look to your phone, a new message from your friend flashing across the screen pulling simultaneous groans from both of you.
Prof is asking for you!!
Jeon Jungkook
A menice. That's what Jungkook was whenever you had your classes. Especially when you were at his place.
This was mainly because it took up most of the afternoon, which was a time that he intended to spend with you whenever you were together. Or that all your time should be reserved for him and him only, if you remember the way he worded it.
His tactics ranged from waiting until you had to speak and doing the noisest things whenever you had your microphone turned on, and doing strange things behind you whenever your camera was on. He would walk past you repeatedly, his movements a clear distraction to the rest of the people who had their eyes on the screen. Last week, he threw a pillow at your head, and you were lucky enough to have been on mute or else the rest of your classmates and the lecturer would've heard you curse at Jungkook like it paid your bills.
This time, he promised to not do anything, mainly because he did not want you to give him the silent treatment for a few hours like you normally did whenever he played the fool with you. He promised to stay in the livng room until your class was over, and although you had your suspicions that he would not live up to his promise, he was pretty adamant and even showed you what he would do to pass his time when you were inside the room.
This presentation was important to you and your teammates. You had a small part, just two topics to discuss and present to the rest of your class and you were allowed to turn your camera off after you were done with that.
Breathing out all the anxiety, you finally unmuted yourself and began with the presentation, letting yourself relax just a little because it had been about fifteen minutes, and Jungkook had not done anything yet, which was a good sign.
But before you could get to the last slide, your eyes widened in horror when the door to your room flew open. Yet, it was not Jungkook this time. It was Bam. He had only recently learned how to open doors, which was now his favourite passtime.
Bam bounded into the room and oblivious to your computer or the fact that you were in the middle of an important presentation, he came up right next to you and barked loudly, jumping up so that his paws were resting on your lap, his tongue lapping at the side of your face. That's what he did when he wanted to show you something that he was proud of, which in this case was opening the door to your room.
Before you could think of what to do, in came Jungkook with an equally mortified expression, running towards you and literally picking Bam up in his arms like a baby and running back out of the room. It all happened within a matter of twenty seconds, yet, knowing that your screen was on the main focus and that everyone in your class witnessed what happened left you dumbfounded.
You somehow turned to face the camera with an awkward laugh, apologising for the distraction and getting right back to presenting as though that never happened. You managed to complete it, turning off your camera with shaky fingers before letting your head fall against your desk.
A soft click reached your ears which alerted you of Jungkook's entry into your room. You remained as you were, your head laying flat against the wood with your eyes closed.
"I'm so sorry," he whispered, his voice appearing very close to you. You opened your eyes to see that he was kneeling beside your chair, an extremely apologetic expression on his face. He looked almost scared, knowing that he promised to not contribute to any distractions during your presentation.
"I didn't know he would come in here. I'm so sorry."
You simply looked at his face for about a minute without saying anything.
"Babeee," he whined, his anxiety sky rocketing. "Say something. Did I ruin it for you? Are you going to be marked down for this?"
A humourless chuckle left your through, before you sat upright and shook your head. He grabbed your hand and pulled it to his lips, placing soft kisses to your palm and fingers.
"I'm sorry baby, I really had no intention of doing anything this time, I promise you."
"I know," you nodded, removing your hand from his grasp. You watched his face fall before his eyes lit up when you touched the side of his face gently. "It's okay. I won't be marked down for this. I handled it well."
"Are you sure?" he inquired worriedly.
"Mhm," you responded with a small smile. "It's normal to have these kinds of accidents when you have pets and you're attending classes from home, it's alright."
"Babe," he dropped his head onto your lap. "I feel so bad. I was genuinely wanting you to come out and see that I was writing my lyrics without disturbing you even once. I imagined that you would be proud of me."
"I am," you insisted, playing with his soft hair. "I know this wasn't your fault, my love. It's fine."
"Are you almost done with this class?"
You nodded back at him, gently touching the side of his face when you noticed that he still looked worried.
"I'll make you some good food, I'll make it up to you, I promise."
"You don't need to," you smiled at his words. "You did nothing wrong."
"No, I want to."
"But-"
"Shhh. Let me make it up to you. Please."
