So I know I haven’t posted anything in like ages, but in case anyone’s curious I do lots of watercolor now, and I’m selling it as printed stationery cards over on Fictive Creations

I just saw a ‘dip pen’ tutorial on YouTube. Umm no it’s called a calligraphy pen?

Actually “dip pen” is perfectly acceptable as it helps differentiate between those tip and Fountain pens with stub nibs.

IT'S ABSO-FRICKEN-LUTELY CALLED A DIP PEN. IT IS NOT CALLED A CALLIGRAPHY PEN BY ANYONE EXCEPT THOSE WHO DON'T REALLY KNOW WHAT THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT YET.

Calligraphy pen covers way too many possible tools (as fuckyeahcalligraphy alluded to) like dip pens, brush pens, stub fountain pens, etc. A dip pen is  a specific kind of tool, and more often than not you actually should be specifying pointed dip pen or stub dip pen for the other person to really know what kind of a tool you are using.

I like to use leftover ink in my water brushes (from using watercolor or shiny pan-based paints as ink) to do simple washes on stationary pieces. Like this rose-gold I smeared over this little circle card. It’s just so wonderfully shimmery.

My contribution to the Steven Universe fandom. The song didn't really hit me the first time but every new time I've listened to it, it's meant a little more and it's a really meaningful song when it comes down to it.
