Jack pulled his hood over his head as soon as he saw a mass of yellow and orange approaching. His white hair was add around the people he grew up with, and hearing how spiritual the air benders could be…
He shook his head and leaned on the side of one of the ice pillars. He watched the Airbenders curiously. He was curious to see what they were like, and what their purpose for visiting.
He blinked as he noticed the girl, who appeared to be around his age, had hair almost as light as his. That was something rare to see, maybe it was common outside the North Poll. He noticed he was staring at her and quickly shook his head and looked down at the ground, kicking at the snow in a bored manor.
Many of the people began to follow them toward the palace. Rapunzel was sure they were just curious and it was a welcoming gesture, but it was a little intimidating to her. More and more, she tried to peer around the sisters but soon realized many were staring and continued to just look ahead. At the bottom of the castle steps, the Chief of the North Pole stood to greet them. Rapunzel bowed in the traditional Airbender fashion as a sign of thanks and respect.
"We thank you for your hospitality, High Chief," Mother Lhamu said, rising from her bow. The Chief nodded his head before looking out into the crowd of people.
"The Airbender Sisters are welcome in our home. Please make them feel as such," the Chief informed the crowd. A few nods from the crowd occurred before the Airbenders were lead to the quarters they would be staying in, respectfully placed away from any men. It was warm inside and Rapunzel was grateful for the new clothes as she pulled on her mittens.
Gazing outside, she decided she had a little time to explore before the Welcoming Feast. Tucking her hair into her wrap, Rapunzel slowly slid out the door to go meet the people of the Water Tribe.
"Hello! How are you? Good afternoon!" she smiled kindly and waved to each person as she passed by.
Jack had moved to sitting down on a bench after all the Airbenders had been lead away to their quarters. His hood once again pulled down. He looked up as he heard a cheery voice greeting people. He turned to see the blonde airbender saying hello to people.
He gave her a smile and a little wave, “Hello to you as well!” He said.
White hair? Rapunzel did a double take. This boy's hair was much lighter than hers, but still, she had never come across anyone with light hair. She beamed a little and turned in her path to face this boy. Was she supposed to bow? She couldn't remember, so she did anyway. With a little bow she smiled.
"My name is Rapunzel," she said. "I like your hair."
