It's the rebirth of the Synchro Summon! These are some of the newest cards that are going to be included in Judgment of Light, the set after Lord of the Tachyon Galaxy.
It seems as though Konami is trying to re-establish Synchro Monsters, by giving us more Synchro monsters for levels that were considered harder to access. Balmung, Warrior of the Underworld is intended to be another option instead of Armory Arm, while Claiomh Solais the Mist Bird is the first generic Level 3 Synchro. "Once per turn: You can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; until the end of the turn, have that monster's ATK become 0, and its effects are negated." Solais' effect and summoning conditions make this another easy way to remove strong face-up threats established by your opponent.
Genjuuki Concorda is a supporter Synchro, helping flesh out the Mecha Phantom Beasts/Phantom Beastcrafts. "Tokens you control cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects. If this card you control is destroyed by your opponent and sent to the Graveyard: You can Release all Tokens you control to target 1 Level 4 or lower "Genjuuki" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target." Protecting the other Phantom Beastcraft tokens seems to be crucial with this decktype.
This card and Balmung, Warrior of the Underworld share a similar effect, when the monster gets destroyed, it tries to replace itself. "When this card is destroyed by a card effect and sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 other Level 4 or lower monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target."
Armades, Keeper of Illusions is the Synchro Monster version of cards like Mirage Dragon. "If this card attacks or is attacked, your opponent cannot activate cards or effects until the end of the Damage Step." These cards help avoid Mirror Force, D. Prison, etc. but that's their only purpose. If this card sees play, it'll see it because of an increase in "Battle Phase Traps".
Number 66: Master Key Beetle is going to further break DARK archetypes, like Evilswarms. "Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to target 1 other face-up card you control; while this card is face-up, that monster cannot be destroyed by card effects. If this card on the field would be destroyed, you can send 1 of the cards targeted by this effect to the Graveyard instead." Beetle's first effect is somewhat similar to the protection effect of Infestation Pandemic. It's worth noting, however, that Beetle's first effect doesn't say "until the end phase," but rather Beetle's first effect lingers as long as Beetle is face-up. You can then keep Beetle alive by sending other monsters he has marked to the graveyard. Will this card see play? Perhaps.
