The Six Samurai - Kamon
Over the Nexus Deck Profile: Six Samurai
Six Samurai are one of the most dominant decks in the late 5D's era. In fact, some may attribute this deck to ruining the gameplay previously enjoyed during Edison Format, as their power dwarfed almost everything else that was relevant in the previous format. Gateway of the Six combined with the sheer volume of special summoning this deck can do makes for near limitless advantage, while Six Samurai United was basically Pot of Greed with how easy it was to put two Bushido Counters on it. Shien's Smoke Signal was almost like having three more copies of Reinforcement of the Army, and Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En was so oppressive that it won games on its own, especially if you could get multiple copies into circulation. Now, given the large amount of coverage of this deck, why am I talking about it here? Have I discovered some sort of tech card or optimal ratio that's worth introducing into the world? Well, no, but after viewing multiple deck lists and tweaking it to my liking, I've found something I like to do with it, which is Double-Edged Sword Technique. This trap card lets you select two Six Samurais in your graveyard, and summon them, but they're destroyed during the end phase. Say we have a Kagemusha of the Six Samuari in the graveyard, likely having summoned a Shi En already, and we've also established the level 6 Enishi, Shien's Chancellor. We summon a second Kagemusha, and use that with Enishi to make Red Dragon Archfiend. Now, Double-Edged Sword Technique is an instant Red Nova Dragon! Personally, I think that's way cooler than just playing the deck by the books with no bells and whistles, because I LIKE bells and whistles, damn it!
