One last tug of his sled to make sure nothing was loose had Monta and Rez set off back onto the trail. He kept an easy pace, not wanting to rush Rez. Having set a steady pace he started humming to the tempo of their walk, and soon he was quietly singing the same ronde he had before he first met Rez.
Unlike last time though he never got too loud, too self conscious now in the presence of another person to raise his voice much. Repeating the ronde a few times while they walked he finally quieted down, looking around and enjoying the forest scenery, along with shooting Rez a smile occasionally.
āRez⦠parle Basic. Monta parle FranƧais. Rez, voulez-vous parler FranƧais?ā Monta asked with a smile. āEst is is,ā he started with a laugh, swaying his head side to side, left for est and right for is as he repeated it a few times. āEst is est is est!ā The Titan giggled, forcing himself to calm down despite how silly it sounded.
āNavire is ship, ship est navire. Nom est name, name is nom.ā Monta went over a few more words while they walked, or pointed at something and called it out in his language, letting Rez tell him what he called it.
Time passed easily that way, walking and talking and sometimes singing from Montaās end. Soon they could see the end of the trees and an open field, and Monta visibly brightened. āShip!ā He called out, picking up his pace a little before they finally cleared the tree line where a large ship waited.
⦠If it could be called a ship that is. By now it was mostly patches holding patches together with two engines and a cockpit. A small white orb floated out from an open lower doorway and flew towards them, showing itself to be Montaās Ghost.
[I swear sir, you really should just get a new ship,] it immediately began chiding him in French, not having yet noticed the smaller Warlock by his side. [I doubt it will be able to fly much longer without some serious refurbishing from the Hangar instead of your insistent so called repairs- oh.] It finally noticed Rez, blinked and then gave Monta a look that was almost a frown.
[Oh dear,] it began in Basic. [I do so hope that monsieur Monta here has not caused you too much trouble? He is still terribly new to everything here and has hardly a grasp of our language yet.] The Ghost shook its little body/head and then flew up to Montaās shoulder. Monta said something and then his Ghost nodded.
[I shall be translating for Monta here until he learns to speak on his own. He wishes to know if youād like to be his friend, and that you may contact him whenever you like.] The Ghost said good naturedly, though still somehow keeping its postured voice. Monta smiled shyly at Rez when he knew his offer was stated.
