acts of kindness and nice things to make someone’s day:
write letters to your friends
leave nice messages in library books on post its
greet and say thank you to cashiers, bus drivers, or anybody of assistance to you
don’t hesitate to pick up any trash you see (mother earth appreciates this)
see what you can donate to children’s hospitals (like coloring books, crayons, etc.)
take photos of your friends. loads of em.
say hi or wave to classmates in the halls even if you’ve barely spoken or have maybe just had one conversation
when you say hi, say hi [name]. simple name recognition makes people feel seen and appreciated.
compliment strangers (however, do not catcall. don’t do it. just don’t.)
compliment your friends and your family (don’t be afraid to show your love for them. you lose nothing and they gain so much)
give that extra change to the homeless person. look them in the eye because “you have more in common with every homeless person than with any billionaire” (YooperDSA on twitter)
put money (if you have some to spare) in that tip jar!! sometimes people depend on a little extra money to help pay for rent, to buy mom a gift, or maybe a simple bath bomb for self care. tips are always appreciated.
maybe do some chores before being asked. it’ll feel better when you do it out of your own will then when you’re told, and it will be noticed and appreciated
smile! your smile is contagious :)
