hey guys. this is my invention. check it out
listen no matter how depressed I am whenever this post shows up on my dash I fucking lose it I just laugh so hard, it’s such a good post. The way it’s presented? Soap on a sink nozzle, okay clearly this is some sort of handwashing appliance. Then there’s just water going everywhere no further explanation it’s so good I’m so happy
i no longer respect the hustle i want universal basic income and dignity for everyone
I don’t want to survive off the generosity of strangers for the rest of my life I want a functioning social safety net for disabled people
HAPPY PRIDE MONTH HAVE SOME LESBIANS AND THEIR NB BESTIE
this is such a profoundly stupid thing to be mad about but. i periodically think about how banksy made one of my single favorite pieces of art of all time, and everything else he's ever done has sucked. man, how did you nail it once
It's this piece, titled The Banality of the Banality of Evil. Because on first glance, you're like. Yeah, okay, it's obvious what it's saying. Even nazis, even evil people can appreciate beauty, too. But then you learn its name, and suddenly the interpretation shifts a bit. The idea that evil is banal has in itself become banal. my first response to seeing a nazi on a bench is "oh it's about the banality of evil" and not "jesus christ there's a nazi on the bench."
and like. i dunno i think that's a really interesting way for a title to recontextualize a piece. it's finding nuance by tearing out the nuance you want to project onto it. it's not the greatest piece of art ever made, but i'd be lying if i said i didn't have a huge soft spot for it
Okay but I have to add to this
what I find really interesting is how the way this is drawn (especially considering who drew it) the art style seems extremely deliberate. This type of nostalgic landscape painting is very reminiscent of nazi art and specifically, Hitler's art.
Nazis were extremely judgmental of "entartete Kunst" (degenerate art). Bansky's usual work very well fall into this category! So for him to go for this style of painting in particular is another choice I find very interesting, because I can see some people react to this painting with some variation of "oh, I didn't know he could actually draw! I thought he is a hack but he is a real artist!" - and that is where they would agree with the Nazis.
I dunno I just find this piece very compelling
oh that is actually fascinating. in fact, to add on- a detail I omitted because I just kinda forgot to mention it. The reason there’s two signatures in the corner is because it was a painting in a thrift shop, Banksy adding the Nazi, and then returning it to the shop.
I think there’s something interesting about recognizing the lineage of this type of art and wanting to mess with it, subvert the intent, and explore the topic and legacy. It’s potent. I really like this piece
I'm really enjoying these Jofoes requests from other ppl especially when my beautiful king Kars is added 🥹🥹
Since your requests are open, I hope you don't mind but this time maybe could you make one where the reader gets all cuddly and kissy with Bucci gang Stands? Like full burying their face on their neck level clinginess, but instead... It's their literal willpower.
(I'm not sure how that would work with Fugo tho💀)
- 🦐
Being affectionate with Bucci Gang! Stands
tags: sfw, fluff, gn! reader, reader is a stand user, established relationship
Giorno Giovanna
- he poses up with his stand as if it were the baby mama lmao.
- i can assume golden experience is equally touchy with giorno as it is with you.
- he will not pull away when you want to hug him or give him some kisses to his cheek.
- and giorno just lets it happen. he thinks its a little cute.
- and i can imagine he feels it too, he gets this warmth.
- golden experience is a sentient stand! he does things to his own accord, without giorno's input.
- sometimes the blonde gets surprised when he see's you being picked up and coddled. he never told him to do that, nor was he thinking of holding you at the moment.
- still, it's cute seeing how you love all parts of giorno. including his stand.
Bruno Bucciarati
- sticky fingers mostly comes out whenever bucciarati calls for him. you wouldn't see him out and about without bucciarati noticing.
- imagine how surprised he is the second sticky fingers comes out, you're immediately on to him.
- sticky fingers doesn't push you away but he lags slightly from returning your gestures.
- bucciarati can feel you, even as he has his back turned or he's hiding with sticky fingers.
- "not now, my dear." he chuckles at you when you hold on to sticky fingers arm. bruno can feel it on his own.
- "aww.. youre so cute when you blush." you teased.
- bruno doesn't say anything but you can tell on the smile on his face that he just liked being teased by you. and sticky fingers was a result of that since it wrapped its arms around you.
Leone Abbacchio
- moody blues is able to turn itself into whatever abbacchio needs it to be.
- sometimes you'll be tricked into seeing double abbacchio. or yourself, like looking through a mirror.
- still, it hasn't stopped you from scooting close to it and hugging moody blues so tightly.
- can a stand be warm? you wouldnt say he was warm but he definitely was comforting.
-and abbacchio was kinda laid-back about it. it was endearing how much you paid attention to it when he's in use.
- your head is buried into moody blue's neck and he's just sipping whine.
- "desperate, hm?" he questions you with a smug look on his face.
Guido Mista
- oh brother. where to start with the pistols.
- they're a bunch of crybabies. at least thats what mista warns but you immediately get attached.
- you couldn't help but feel so parental about them. when it's time to feed them, you already have snacks with you. or if fhey're in need for some comfort, you coddle them.
- you and mista watch off in the sidelines when number 3. in particular bullies number 5. you were protective while mista attempted to settle the dispute.
- the pistols love you back, they really do. you and mista are like mama y papa. mista is the mama, obviously.
- "don't worry about 'em so much." he reminds you.
- "i know, i just miss them." you faked a sob, reminiscing reading them a bedtime story.
Narancia Ghirga
- it's a tiny airplane. i don't think it can talk or really reciprocate anything.
- still, you found a way to treat it like some kind of toy and narancia teases you for it.
- "leave it alone, i'm trying to work!" he huffed. "you don't see me messin' with your stand."
- slight jealous that you pay more attention to the damn thing and not him. he's a little dramatic about it.
Pannacotta Fugo
- don't bother lol.
- he refuses for you to get close to purple haze.
- it's not worth it, just give him attention instead.
- it's not purple haze fault, it's not anyone's fault really.
- he just doesn't want you to get hurt. or if he accidentally kills you? he would never forgive himself.
A grand fantasy city-state that has developed a consistent, uniform system of "best by"-dates, not just for food safety reasons and to reduce food waste, but to also significantly reduce crime and conflict between residents. The matter at hand is goblins.
Goblin residents of the city are legal citizens with equal rights just the same as everyone else, but their natural lifestyle differs dramatically from the rest of the peoples living in the city. They are scavengers by nature, having no problems with eating carrion, overripe fruits and plants, and building everything they own from things that other races throw away as junk and trash. As the city produces plenty of waste that goblins would love to take and the city is glad to be rid of, any well-organised city is not just a paradise for goblins, but welcomes them with open arms. They save the city a fortune in waste disposal costs.
Problems mainly arise by differing ideas of what counts as "discarded". Goblins are unfairly labelled as thieves, when they are merely opportunistic and optimistic by nature, and will interpret any unclear situation to their own benefit, and will argue "how was I supposed to know that you still wanted it?" over things that looked lovely and were left unattended. And while yoinked items of clothing and other tools are easily returned or financially reimbursed (paying for what they already took is the only use that goblins have for money, which they do not steal), but foodstuff is gone faster than you can blink.
So, the city needed to determine laws for how to define and clearly label when consumable goods are no longer fit to most peoples' consumption, both to help people keep track on how old their groceries are, and also to mark them for goblins. So even though the food that's past the date on it can still be good to eat, it might also be gone by the next time you reach for it.
Ok yeah I admit. This is just how me and my boyfriend live.
