Bec stared at him for a minute, seeing the brooding expression on his face. “Fine,” she said quietly before moving back into the house. “Come on, baby… We gotta go.” She picked him up from the table, listening to his constant asking why as she walked out of the house, holding him in her arms. “It’s okay, we are going with this man and his friends… to the park, okay?” She told him softly, kissing the top of his head as she walked past Ethan, keeping her hand on the side of Nathan’s face.
Ethan nodded when Rebecca said fine and walked inside to get her son...their son. It wasn’t until he saw him in her arms and it hit him like a fucking train about how much the young boy looked like him. “Holy shit,” he mumbled to himself before following them to the parked car outside of her house. “Bec, wait!” Catching up to her, he reached out to gently touch her arm to get attention. “You’re going to need to pack up things for the both of you because we won’t be coming back here for a long while,” he said, looking into her eyes. “Trust me, please.”
