its 3am so I’m probably not in the right mind set to be making a text post but i hop on this account every once in a while to see when the wdw fandom dies or if any interesting thing happened.

anyway, the point of this was just to say im posting all my old imagined i never finished writing onto this account.

if I’m being honest, I’m not coming back to this account to write again and I’ve lost complete interest in the fandom and in wdw’s music. most of the fics wont even be close to a resolved end because the zach thing ended up happening while i was writing them.

I’m taking a break

Hi! Its been a long ass while since ive been on this account or been active. I’ve decided that its best if I just at least make a post about how I’m taking a break from sunshineavery and from why dont we in general.

The wdw tumblr community although its small its amazing and ive met so many people and friends thanks to this community. I’m honestly glad I joined. But when the whole Zach video surfaced I thought more about this account. (I’m about to rant.) And it really made me think about the people in this community and their thoughts and perpectives on the situation.

Then I waited for an apology. Or at least a video or note from him acknowledging that it happened and apologizing and realizing he made a mistake. Or letting people know that he didnt say the word and clearing it up. But he didn’t. And that led me to really contemplate my view on why don’t we as a whole and as individuals. It helped me realize that I dont know them at all, as I dont personally know any celebrities.

I was really shocked and pissed that he and their managment just swept it under the rug rather than addressing and being mature about it. So it led me to back away from why dont we as a band. Maybe i might come back, I honestly dont know?

I realize most people arent going to read this 😅 cuz its a long ass note. But, if anyone wants to remain in contact and keep talking or start talking hmu and I’ll give you my other tumblr account.

I mean Zach didn't direct the word at someone he sang along with a song which there isn't much proof of him actually saying nigga. I get you are offended but like people are sending him death threats. He should apologize even if he did nothing wrong? That's what I'm getting? Should he say sorry that he didn't say it and sorry for those who got offended over him not saying it. Sorry for all of you who take offense but Zach is innocent

Even though the word wasnt direxted at anyone that doesnt really make it any better? When I watched the video it looked like he said it, im just going to say that. And even if he didnt say it then I atleast feel like he should clear that up at at least adress the situation, rather than ignoring. Death threats aren’t ok and will never be ok, I said that earlier. And I can’t really tell if you’re calling Zach innocent like in an innocent/guilty way, or as if he’s a child. Sorry I didn’t answer earlier, it was like 4 am when this was sent.

This answer is more of a personal answer and might be different for some black people, so I dont stand for my whole race. But I generally dont take shit from white people who say the n word. That’s basic. I feel like only black people should say the n word, but I wouldnt be as pissed as a white person saying the n word if a poc did. I hope that makes sense? Like if a POC who isnt black said the n word, id probably tell them to chill on that and ask them to not say it near me. again this is just my opinion.

I dont really get how someone saying something they arent supposed to say and asking them to apologize is a shitty thing. He said something wrong, he should own up to it and apologize. Why can black people call each other the n word but white people can't?? Cuz black rappers say that all the time but the fucking second a white person says it it's wrong? Like that's not right either? Either everyone can say one damn stupid word or nobody can right.

Shhhhh let me just give you a quick history lesson. The n word isnt just a word. It was never just a word from the start when it was used as a racial slur to degrade black people. We were called negros, nigger (with the hard r) and then it evolved a niggas. For so damn long it was used as a way to “keep us in our place” as if we were below white people. So we came back and reclaimed the word. It now to me at least shows that we came back harder than ever and fought throught that rough ass period of time and still survived and will keep surviving. To me at least it does.

But if you want a short version? White people calling black people niggas is like going in a full circle. OR if you want to start using the n word I’ll just call you a colonizer. Simple.

Some of y'all need to grow up saying that Zach did nothing wrong. You can still stan someone and not support every little thing they do. Admitting what your favorite celebrity did was wrong isnt being a fake fan. Its acknowledging that a celebrity isnt perfect and they do stupid shit and they need apologize.

Zach isn't black. Last time I checked there was no melanin in his skin. THEREFORE if he isn't black he shouldn't be saying the n word, there isnt any ifs or buts. That word has a huge historical background and a huge meaning to it. I would go more into it, but I'm not about to write a whole ass essay. To sum it up: He should apologize and learn from his mistake.

i’ve never, not once in my whole life, have said the n word. i’ve never even thought about it. a black friend once ‘gave me permission’ to say it and i refused. because i know the hate behind the word. i know where it came from, i know how people used the word it came from to degrade and be little black people and how some people still use that exact word to degrade and be little.
