Rayna kept her eyes on the arguing teens while she noticed a figure climb into the bathtub in her peripheral vision. Her heart was racing as she turned to watch the other teen sit right next to her.
“Hey,” he said as he mimicked how she sat.
“Hey,” she echoed. “How did you know where we were?”
He shrugged. “Ben asked people if they saw you two and some girls in the hallway said they saw Ada drag you in here.”
“Impressive,” Rayna said while failing to keep a straight face. “Guess he really wants to collect his prize.”
He laughed. “Think he’s just really desperate.”
She joined in with his laugh. “Sounds like it might run in the family.”
He scratched the back of his head and frowned. “You think I was desperate earlier? I just wanted to make sure you were safe.”
She bit her lip again as she felt her cheeks heat up. “I told you before I already have protection.”
“And I told you that you got me as backup protection.”
“Have you never heard that too much protection can be suffocating?”
He smirked. “I can leave you alone, but I don’t think you want me to.”
Rayna held her breath as she took in his words. She fought the urge to play with the long chunk of deep purple and black blended hair that rested on the side, keeping her attention on his face. She only noticed how green his eyes were a week ago when they were hanging out in a playground near her old elementary school. They were so intense that she had stopped telling her story midsentence, going from talkative to shy in seconds.
Is this what it’s like to have the biggest crush on someone you can’t be with? She thought while getting lost in his stare.
“What?” He quietly asked. He leaned closer until he was inches from her face. “Is there something on my face?”
She shook her head against the tile. “It’s just that you have pretty eyes.”
New OC-introducing Ben to the Oakridge Farm AU! As tradition when debuting new characters in the storyline I asked @sunshinecovey to help me design him. Here he is with a teen Shane enjoying one of their hobbies.

I just posted my 50th fic to AO3. When I realised this one was coming, I knew I had to make sure it was given to Lyra and Harvey. So with a prompt from my very lovely friend Halixius, a little idea grew. It meant I could ring in the new year with my hopeless romantic disasters. I was also so excited to commission my darling friend @sunshinecovey to draw something extra special to mark the occasion. I adore this so much!

As midnight drew closer, tension began to grip her body, her thoughts focusing in on a kiss as the clock struck twelve, and at the centre of it all, there he was.
She remembered a time when this night and the ticking countdown would pass them by, their lips wouldn’t meet, and sadness would make her heart sink, those fleeting moments missed, each one hurting so deeply.
Not now. Not this time.
Her spirits lifted, a smile tugging at her lips, and she realised that she’d been looking forward to this kiss all year. She felt a little silly. Lyra kissed her wonderful man every day, many times. Not kissing him was an impossibility. But since their second first kiss, one year ago, she found herself longing for this night.
To reach another new year’s kiss with Harvey meant more to her than she could put into words. So, she would show him just how much she adored him.

Ghosts of him in every part of this festival. It equally terrified and thrilled her.
She checked her watch again and realized she didn’t have much time left. She started to make her way to the front of the maze when she felt someone grab her arm, her blood ran cold, she knew it was him. She didn’t have to turn around to know. Her body sang for him, for his touch. Sol’s arm tingled where his fingers gripped her, the fingers that she knew better than her own. Her entire self implored her to let go of this charade right now and jump into his arms, but she couldn’t. So, without giving herself away, she turned to face him slowly. Sol looked at him like he was crazy for grabbing onto a stranger. Her breath caught in her throat as she faced the gorgeous man that was hunting her. Harvey was dressed in a dark green hooded robe; they could very well be matching. She should’ve known that the little red riding hoods would only keep him away from her for so long. His lovely forest green eyes searched her face, looking for Sol, he still held onto her arm. She kept her face neutral despite the fact that her heart wanted to jump out of her chest.
I uploaded this one shot back in February of this year and I remember I spent over a week on it, even writing at work and asking my coworkers how big do you think two feet is (we measured) It was inspired by the fic Rough day by guardianangelcas and it might just be my favorite one shot to this day and I'm so happy to have art for it! thank you @sunshinecovey I loved how this turned out so much and I look forward to hopefully commissioning you again in the future 💕
I've hoarded this one to myself for a little while now but thanks to a tastefully placed sticker of a rose petal, I thought I'd share this truly gorgeous art commission of my Lyra and Harvey by my amazing friend @sunshinecovey.

It's taken from a little thing I wrote last year, when Harvey truly takes such good care of Lyra after a long day at the Valley Fair, letting her know that she is his Happy Ever After. This is so soft and dreamy and oh how I love to see them so truly in love.
The chapter itself is sweet and tender (and of course, nicely spicy. Harvey worships her!) and I loved writing it. It was so special to see Sunny bring that moment to life in this beautiful art. Thank you always for working with me!
