Even though she wanted to cry, possibly hit him, and cause a whole entire scene that only she was capable of, she decided against it. This had to be a happy, positive moment. Which, it was. She hadn’t been this happy in such a long time. Her favorite person was back. What more could she want? “Oh my god, I wouldn’t break your pinky! Maybe like injure it a little bit, but not break it! You need your pinky for more pinky promises.” She laughed, lifting up her pinky to wrap it around his and make the promise that he said he would keep. She wasn’t too concerned about him breaking it, because he never would break a promise. She knew that. “Don’t be cute! No! Stop being cute! NO, MY HEART.” Hearing him say these things caused her to get a little bit shy, which was obvious by the fact that her hands came up to cover her cheeks. Shy wasn’t a word normally used to express her, but he managed to bring it out somehow. “Mhmm…a lot of things. See? It’s why you can’t ever leave! Like my life is always a mess even when you’re gone for about 10 minutes.” There was a hint if sadness in her tone, but she did her best to keep it hidden. She’d always been rather good at that. The acting experience she had made it easier for her to not show it too much if she didn’t feel like it was necessary, but she never really was one to hide anything from him. So, she let it show, just a little bit. Just enough to get the point across and show him how terrible life was without him in it. “I know you’ll do a good job with that, and I’ll keep a smile on your face as well! ”
Laughter bubbled from his mouth from the response given, and regardless of the guilt he felt-- he now was at ease. If he were to say he still didn’t have a lingering fondness for the latter, his nose would surely grow just like Pinocchio. His heart had a conflict with his mind, and it was no surprise with his appearance that this would happen. “But... But if I break the promise then you would have to! I don’t break promises though, so I’m not worried about my finger being snapped. With you, or any other person.” proudly spoke Hakyeon with a raised chin. “I’m- I’m not being cute! I’m just being honest!” after they had made the promise with hooked pinkies, the male retracted his hand and then placed both of them up as if to defend himself.
Hakyeon was good when it came to catching emotions, or hints; or at least, most of the time he was. When it came to her, he always kept a watchful eye and careful ear. The tone elicited a pain in his chest that was similar to squeezing, or maybe sinking-- maybe even something in between. His brows furrowed with concern as he looked to her, both sincerity and affection mixed with his orbs. “I won’t leave. I promise. I’ll make sure nothing ends up as a mess and I’ll take care of you. Just like I did before,” his tone was low and a tad on the serious end, which didn’t happen much for him. “I still remember when you’d end up going to the bathroom on the floor if I left for a little while, ah-- why did I ever think I could just leave?” teased the bronze-skinned male. “You already keep a smile on my face by simply being here. See?” chimed Hakyeon with a toothy grin, eyes now in a crescent shape.
