About us...

We are a relatively small server with a mixture of active, semi-active and intrigued but lurking members.

As we are still quite new things are constantly evolving, but we have a lot of playful fun together as we get to know each other.

We help each other brainstorm ideas, find specific moments in both cockles and destiel history, and analyse meta.

We encourage each other to keep trying new things.

While it can be a bit scary to jump in to these kinds of online communities, when you dive in to our little corner of the dumpster, we promise not to bite! (unless you're into that sort of thing... 😏)

Our space is designed to be:

Cockles friendly - it's in the name, we're shellers... we're not going to hide in a specific RPF channel to talk about the basics of the JenMish relationship.

Actor and show positive - no outright hatred of cast/crew/episodes/arcs/etc. Constructive criticism is fine, but personal attacks are not. That being said, we all have a certain someone in mind when I say "his behaviour is not compatible with being well-liked".

For adults (18+) only - we don't censor swear words and innuendo flies everywhere. It's all in good fun.

When you join (you're going to, right?) you will need to:

Holy crap... we've nearly been open for TWO YEARS so the note above about being "quite new" is all a load of bullshit... but otherwise this post actually holds up pretty well.

I've recently done a member list cull to remove the people who only introduced themselves and haven't otherwise indicated they wanted to stick around, so now is actually a good time to join (or rejoin). This space is meant for anyone and everyone who wants to be part of it.

I have a discord server for lovers of all things DeanCas and JenMish, where we discuss everything from Supernatural and The Winchesters (lots of clowning going on right now 🤡) to other Jensen and Misha projects, other ships, share art and fics, help each other with fandom and non-fandom projects, and just generally talk a lot of nonsense in between.

We are a smallish server of less than 100 members, and depending on the chaos of the day we can have up to 25ish active members from various places around the world. We are unhinged in a fun way, and chat often devolves into less than savoury topics, and our mod affectionately calls us the GayDHD server.

Tips on how to curate a good fandom experience?

get some gross sicko pals to be a gross sicko with. having at least one or two who you can be a hater with too is a must. helps you save face from airing your grieviances in public. and honestly nothing more satisfying that sending some stupid shit into the group chat being like “lmao u seeing this???”.

stay away from anybody who acts like fandom is serious business/activism

never feel like you need to justify your likes/dislikes to some dumb cunt on the internet

something making you uncomfortable isn’t the end of the world & often it’s actually quite good to examine your own discomfort/disgust and what it stems from. builds character.

block/mute/unfollow at the drop of a hat

make sure to cultivate your interests outside of fandom and read things other than fic, this one, i’d say, is ESSENTIAL

Yesterday I saw a post detailing the process to gain an invite into another discord server that allows cockles discussion outside of an exclusive RPF/RPS channel, and my eyes glazed over about 4 sentences in. This system clearly works well for this other server, and I am all for whatever they deem necessary to maintain their space. However, over at Sunshine Shellers, life is a bit more easy breezy (beautiful CoverGirl).

If you want to come hang out with a bunch of weirdos spread all over the world to talk about two dudes who should have kissed on TV, and who have probably more than kissed off TV, then all you have to do is:

Our server will not be for everyone, and we're not trying to be, but we have fun and are always excited for newcomers (or even returners). Six months ago, a queued post full of hope and devoid of expectation was unleashed upon the tumblrsphere. It was a result of a vision I had due to some unfortunate encounters in other areas of this fandom; a space where people were free to fangirl(gn) over Jensen and Misha without judgement or like they had some shameful secret. I had spent the prior few weeks pouring my soul into making that vision a reality, so it was with anxious anticipation (and A LOT of reassurance from a very lovely hype squad) that the doors to Sunshine Shellers opened on that bleary Wednesday morning in June.

However, absolutely nothing could have prepared me for what this server has become and I am so very, very grateful to each and every person who has taken a chance on our little corner of the dumpster.

In the past six months, we have become a chaotic, codependent, incomprehensible, unhinged and loving family, and I am grateful every day that something I created brings people so much joy.

My Christmas wish this year is for this to continue, so here’s to the next six months and beyond! Bring on more chaos, more shenanigans, more horniness, more analysis, more screaming, more reassuring encouragement, more teasing terms of endearment, more seemingly endless video chats, more of whatever this unhinged space evolves into next. May we always have two beautiful idiots in love to squee over!

Chloe has created such a positive space for, not only cockles perceivers, but fans of Supernatural and fans of Destiel. The show is over (for the moment), but those of us who hang out here are still crazy about it; we write, we beta, we create art, we watch The Winchesters, we clown, we love this stupid show and we aren’t afraid to admit it. 

But at our core, we love Jensen and Misha - separately, and together in whatever way they give us - we love Danneel; we love Rob and Ruth and Rich and so many of the extended family. Basically, we have a whole lotta love to give…so if you want some lovin’…come and get it.

If you want a visual, imagine a cosy bar tucked away with candles on the table and fairy lights strung around the picture frames. People on one table discussing The Winchesters, another table still crying over the confession, the one at the back tinhatting and being a detective over anything from Jensen’s clothing to poetry, someone sat on the floor with sticky notes trying to piece together their fic, and then a table at the side hollering at each other about how hot their boobs are…it’s really got something for everyone.
