Storytime! My friend went to VanCon this weekend and her goal was to get something signed for me. She was going to do it as a surprise but in the end decided to ask ME what I wanted Jackles to sign.

I was like, oh god oh god oh god what — what do I do???

But In the end I decided on doing some fanart for The Winchesters because I wanted to just... offer up this “Hey you have folks excited for this show and I’m one of them!”

I finish it in early October, and if you’ve followed me or seen artwork from earlier in the year you know I’ve drawn these folks a handful of times already but I was so nervous about this one. I drew it off of a shot from the pilot’s trailer, but having them all smiling and laughing beacuse it’s me and that’s just how I do things lol.

So, yesterday, she gets it signed! She said that Jackles took his phone out to snap a picture and that his handler mentioned it was the first prequel fanart they’ve seen — and my friend made sure to let them know that there is more out there [because there IS and it’s LOVELY].

It really made my heart sing and I’m over the moon this morning about it. Not that he signed it but just that he knows that there is a fanbase growing for this show. Those who are trapped in discord servers with me [*waves*] knows I was obnoxiously excited for this prequel since the Deadline article dropped in June 2021. So tracking its progress for — literally over a year made me already so emotionally attatched to it.

The bonus was that two weeks after I finished this, Nida posted to Instagram following the pilot’s airing and included this photo:

And so THAT made me happy too!

So anyway. Idk. I’m super duper happy this morning and extremely grateful that my friend did this for me as I would likely not have a good chance of ever getting this opportunity for myself.
