summary of abt her: classically trained in piano and was supposed to follow her mother's footsteps before joining kh entertainment. it was her twin brother's idea to audition and her mother's encouragement to choose her own path that she is now an idol. she still likes playing the piano whenever she can though now translates it over to lyric writing and composition & arrangement for music. you may have also seen her as the season one workdol host ! she's a happy-go-lucky girlkisser first and foremost and makes it painfully obvious to those with eyes that see the all knowing.

wanted dynamics:

i:ris members dynamics! whatever we can work on: government ship, mother-daughter dynamic, tom & jerry dynamic, roommates, etcs! it'd be nice to see whether she is close with them or puts a wall up.

i think a vocal rival of another ggroup would be fun to see! whether they get comparisons or not but also someone yubin quite admires. she's not fond of the rivalry netizens try to make it to be but she would think of this as a sort of friendly rivalry.

she already had her share of yuri situationship from her high school days but who's to say she can't yearn for more. (one sided/mutually met but one of those 'right people, wrong time'/current crush/any alternative dynamics!). bonus if said muse inspired her to write 'crush on you' that is listed as evo's bside in recent 2026 album.

she's on a look out for her personal avengers team (fellow songwriters, composers!) that she could come bugging and asking for opinions on her demos or have a fun jam session with!

on the other hand, maybe a rival or someone with rooted jealousy that don't approve of her songs or someone she constantly & unintentionally competes with for blind demo evals?

also maybe she could have her lil club band of other classically trained idols alike, someone who brings her competitive side back busting out to bach or tchaikovsky in a rented music hall. it'd be nice for her to still be able to put her classically trained skills somewhere.

she's still a bit of an open canvas but has welcoming yet chaotic nature to her, so any sort of neutral to positive dynamics of any sort of relations are rather welcomed!

there are many things that yubin is capable of ― singing, dancing, being an idol, playing the piano, song writing, peeling a tangerine in one unbroken peel and the list could go on for quite some time. however if you leave it up to yubin to handle the most simplest of task, she could somehow mess it up.

for instance, strike one: she had forgot to set an alarm up despite her manager reminding her two times the night before that she needs to be at a certain location at a specific time. instead, she woke up and had to start rushing about. strike two: she wore mismatched socks and had only realise it when when she's more awake after having her make up done in the shop ( but at least it didn't matter too much if no one else points it out ) and strike three: in between of juggling her phone, some loose items because she forgot her bag in the van and a whole iced coffee in hand, he bumps into a member of riiot and in the worst possible way, causing the liquid to soil his shirt which she could only shriek and be apologetic about.

"oh my gosh- i'm so so so so so so sorry."

"i'm not usually vocal about it much but i am huge fan of sapphire and this was one of the song that i've used to practice a lot to. there's a depth of emotion that this song carries that is really hard to replicate unless you've really get your emotions into singing it. which is probably why this is my go-to vocal practice song but also really highly recommended listen for yearner mode."

"i love how ironic this song sounds; the way the lyrics was written reflects how lonely someone can get even with the company of so many people and what makes this song so likeable is the upbeat of the song. everlast-sunbaenims were also performing this with so much smiles too so it becomes quite contradictory. it's overall a fun song to listen to."

"i didn't want to include this piece in, considering it's also a song where i wrote the full lyrics for but it remains as my top five tracks i've enjoyed writing. i wrote this with me:u's in mind and it was a bit of a bummer we couldn't include this track in our own album but serene-sunbaenim was able to deliver justice to the song and it made me so happy that it is also a track that they enjoy."

"i've got this song in my 'feel good' playlist personally with how cheeky this song sounds. there's just this sense of vibrant happiness..? whenever i listen to it. i really like the harmonization of the bridge as well since it really showcase the origin members' vocal tone with each other."

"i remember the first time i listened to this song, i was wondering who or what 'proust' is. i remember looking it up and there was a related novel called 'the proustian moment' in which the narrator experiences a rush of vivid childhood memories triggered by the taste of small madeleine cake dipped in tea. it made so much sense why the song is so dreamlike to me and i would recommend everyone to also listen to the song."

"i didn't want to put out another shameless promotion, but i had to include this. not only was this one of my favorite arrangement to work on, it's also one of my favorite comeback with how fun the song is along with the concept given. we had duplicates cgi version of ourselves and a whole magical girl getup. i think this song in a way, reminds me a lot of my childhood which is why i have to recommend it without being too biased."

"if i was ever asked what is the one song i wished we had for i:ris, it would be this song. it's such a fun song and a very colorful concept to add on as well. but i don't think we would have done the justice for this song like callista would."

the room they were in was entirely too bright, the afternoon sun cutting through the glass in sharp strips that make the whole space feel suffocating. taeoh keeps his chin tucked into the collar of his hoodie, eyes fixed on a screen he isn't actually looking at. his whole body feels stiff from a long morning of choreography -- a physical routine he’s still not entirely used to, now that he’s finally back in the swing of things after being sidelined for so long. he shifts his weight, wincing internally when his left leg flares with a familiar protest, reminding him that he's still playing catch-up with his own body.

then the guy running the session calls their names for pairings.

sohn yubin.

taeoh doesn't quite roll his eyes, but his mouth thins into a flat line. oh, if his day couldn't get any worse than this. "are you kidding me..." he mutters under his breath, a dry sound meant only for himself as he leans back against the table.

he glances across the room, catching the exact second her shoulders drop. she looks just as thrilled as he is, which is fine by him. the prospect of spending the next few hours stuck in a vocal booth with her already gives him a headache. they never see eye to eye on this stuff. she goes by pure feeling and instinct; he wants things to actually make sense and fit a proper layout. it's just exhausting being back in these dynamics again.

he pushes himself out of the chair, walking toward the smaller tracking room without waiting to see if she's behind him.

the heavy door shuts behind them, cutting off the noise from the hallway. taeoh doesn't look at her as he tosses his notebook onto the table and grabs the main connector cord, plugging it into his phone.

he finally turns around, leaning his hip against the edge of the desk, crossing his arms.

"alright, let's just get this over with," he says, voice flat and stripped of any of that polite tone he'd usually use. "what kind of ideas did you bring today? just play whatever you have so we don't end up arguing here all day."

if there is one thing that yubin could be out of many things, it would be civil. for most part, it seems that taeoh plays the part as well unsurprisingly. they are both idols who know when and where to put their masks of professionalism on, whether or not if personal feelings aside of not wanting to work with each other, they'll stick through their task for the day and move on once everything is done. perhaps for once, she is glad that the male idol has yet to throw out any of her ideas out yet even if this had seem to be an absolute bare minimal.

people of polar opposites don't mesh well, yubin learns this. there's no romantism of 'opposites attract', not like the case of sohn yubin and kang taeoh. she prefers writing music following her heart; words crafting from her own feelings or 'at the moment' and she couldn't say much for the case for the origin idol. ( she doesn't admit to him, or will ever admit that she checks out all his credit discography when their rift first happened and how she had liked some of his writing but he would never hear that from her, 'least not until he confesses up why he had always been so hostile towards her. )

she bites her tongue back from remarking that they would not be arguing whatsoever if he wasn't holding onto a one sided grudge or spite against her; one that she has yet to figure out what his deal was in the first place. instead she pulls out her laptop and navigates through her applications easily. "since we don't have a topic going on." she mumbles, thinking of which composition to play out before clicking on one of her recent piece she had been tinkering around the piano keys which formed a sort of melody but had still some cracks of emptiness that's waiting to be filled out. she lets it play out while waiting on reaction, eyes carefully looking at her arranged partner for the day to gauge on any sort of response.

instead, she leans over to yeona, who had been her companion for the day in the studio and starts bugging older member who seem rather concentrated on her task than yubin will ever be today. in rare occasions of her being the annoying young sibling vibes, she squints over the words that yeona has written before letting out a dramatized gasp over what seems to be some lyrics written with tones of romance. "who are you writing about, unnie?"

𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄  𝐌𝐄  𝐎𝐍𝐋𝐘  𝐓𝐈𝐋𝐋  𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒  𝐒𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆,  the  words  thread  themselves  into  the  page,  pencil  scratching  against  the  paper  like  the  warm  breeze,  light,  airy,  sincere,  like  they  were  pouring  out  from  her  like  a  steam  of  consciousness.  for  someone  who  thought  so  carefully  on  her  words,  on  her  next  move,  on  what  the  consequences  would  be  for  breathing  too  hard,  looking  at  something  too  long,  and  everything  else  in  between,  the  lyrics  poured  themselves  out  through  the  graphite  without  hesitation.  yeona  jots  down  another  line,  love  resembles  only  a  misty  dream  —  only  for  reality  to  come  crashing  down  on  her  again,  this  time  in  the  form  of  her  companion's  voice,  and  all  too  quickly  the  older  female  is  holding  her  notepad  to  her  chest.

"oh,  binnie-ah,"  she  laughs,  cheeks  tinting  pink,  obviously  startled,  though  she  tries  to  take  advantage  of  the  moment  by  hiding  away  her  lyrics  under  the  guise  of  simply  being  surprised.  "you  scared  me,"  the  words  come  out  gentle,  playful  even,  and  she  tries  to  inconspicuously  flip  over  the  notebook  so  it's  facing  down  in  her  lap.

"i'm  not  writing  about  anyone,  silly,"  she  says,  perhaps  too  casually,  too  nonchalantly,  but  yeona  has  long  since  been  trained  in  the  art  of  diminishing  her  feelings,  hiding  away  her  heart  so  it  never  saw  the  light  of  day.  maybe  that's  why  she's  so  surprised  that  today's  session  came  so  easily  to  her  —  even  on  a  good  day,  yeona  was  not  musically  inclined  in  the  same  way  yubin  and  many  of  her  other  groupmates  (  and  other  idols  at  large  )  were.  she  was  a  good  enough  singer,  a  good  enough  dancer,  perhaps  leaning  above  average  industry  standards  if  one  squinted  hard  enough,  but  her  talents  didn't  lie  in  producing,  writing  lyrics,  or  even  really  much  of  anything  when  it  came  to  the  behind  the  scenes  magic  that  came  with  creating  a  title  track.

oftentimes,  she  simply  came  with  yubin  to  these  sessions  for  moral  support,  wanting  to  be  there  for  someone  close  to  her,  not  because  she  ever  was  any  good  at  vocalizing  anything  worth  debuting.  yeona  was  good  at  being  there  for  people  she  loved,  and  she  also  wasn't  half  bad  at  modeling,  but  creating  something  beautiful  through  words  and  compositions  like  yubin  could  —  well,  that  really  wasn't  her  strong  suit.

"want  to  take  a  walk  to  clear  your  head?"  she  offers,  trying  to  pivot  the  conversation  away  from  what  she's  spilled  out  on  paper.  "maybe  inspiration  will  strike  you  if  we  get  some  ice  cream."  surely,  that  was  a  great  distraction,  wasn't  it?

the reaction she receives from the older female member is met with a playful pointed look from yubin for her reaction was far from inconspicuous for it to be 'nothing' as yeona would claim; the evident pinkish glow on her cheeks alongside the flipping of notebook that doesn't get unnoticed from the corner of her eyes was enough to make claims of. though she could normally be nosy and pressing when it comes to gossips revolving a member's possible love life, or generally with someone's song writing, she does not push her luck and tempt into the fates of getting yeona to admit anything to her as a form of out of respect for their own privacy. when and if the time comes, perhaps yeona would share things in secrecy with her.

there was a form of envious lurking in her heart but more so anger if yubin thinks about it. not one directed to yeona but at herself. she has been struggling as of lately to get any words out of her head and wonders if she's only capable of articulating strings of poised wordings only when she feels something or for someone. she supposed if mozart can dedicate mass in c minor for constanze and that elizabeth barrett browning has sonnets for her husband then it wasn't at a complete fault to feel like she needed to dedicate her writings off to someone. except that she's got no one in particular like that.

at the mention of some fresh breath of air, there's a slow but excited reaction that comes from yubin as she nods with the suggestion. "that would sound really great actually." she mutters softly, already getting up from her seat and stretches out as if she's done anything much that needed such gesture from her. ( hey, thinking does take a lot of brainpower! )

with each minutehand ticking away, yubin's patience grows thin at herself. there's almost frustration in her system if not expelled with each sigh she lets along with the tapping of her pen against her notebook. "argh, i can't do this anymore." she fumes over the unsettled stuffiness that's washed all over her body. the idol herself is tensed from not only sitting still but from the lack of inspiration that comes to mind which restricts her from writing anything down at the moment.

there is a sort of intangible chill that runs down yubin's spin on a perfect sunny friday afternoon. it is like like a telltale sign from her body that gives off a precautionary sign that something could possibly go wrong today and the idol wants to shrug it off as her being paranoid but she has somewhat festered a sixth sense ability, or rather in the back of her mind, there are a few scenarios that could be played out today that may result to a few outcomes:

outcome one: yubin wraps up summer jam with other songwriters and composers without any obstacles and be able to be part of such amazing journey that had her learning and gaining plenty of experiences from or

outcome two: yubin meets you-know-who and they end up nitpicking one another throughout the process of the songwriting camp.

she isn't sure when it had exactly started out or if she had unknowingly left a bitter taste without it being her intentions but one's thing for sure, yubin swore she would never be able to get along with kang taeoh if they would never settle on their differences.

shrugging the thought off, she greets everyone in the warmly familiar studio; one she had camped in multiple occasions before and waits along with everyone before their debriefing start. in the corner of her eyes however, she spots an unfortunate familiar figure ― the leader of origin.

"kang taeoh," she mutters his name under her breath to no one in particular and alike a grudgeful villain would towards their opposites as portrayed in cartoons. trust that she isn't normally perceiving one with such adverse response, she had her share of civil attempts to understand him but there's a wall behind his words (and mask?) that only pierces through with nitpicking of her work.

her attention diverts from staring at the man when her name is called out and in all 'favorable' cosmic decision, she is assigned to be in a pair with the one man she had tried manifesting so hard to not be paired with.
