it genuinely sucks that I can't in good faith recommend P5X because it's a gacha.

The characters are great. The story is a slow start, but PALACE 3 IS GENUINELY ON PAR WITH SOME OF THE P5 PALACES, and I'm so eagerly awaiting Palace 4 because I heard it was fantastic

but even as a gacha player of 3 gachas, and who has put money into games, I know when to stop. A lot of people don't and that's how gambling addictions are formed.

but fffuck everything else about p5x is genuinely great.

again, the characters, the story as it goes on, the timeloop concept is interesting, the "social links" are very engaging (most at least), the character designs are phenomenal and the music is on par if not better than persona 5's (yes, royal included), even the palaces are creative and fun to explore

Maybe I'm giving this game too much grace, because I'm used to these mechanics and I'm really lucky when it comes to gacha games so I don't have to worry about spending too much, but hey, we all have our biases

I think P5X is a great game in a very unfortunate medium. It is more generous than other gachas I've played, but it's still a gacha nonetheless, which is unfortunate.
