A little fun fact about myself: I'm an equestrian. I love horses, big stupid animals, and I own two of my own.
One is 29, her name is Mama. She is an Appendix Quarter Horse. My second is a 6 year old, off track Thoroughbred/exracehorse, Angel.
I love Thoroughbreds. They are probably the best horse breed out there. They aren't spooky, they aren't hot, they're level headed and easy. At least all the one's I've handled.
They're overlooked. They're disliked because they're a racehorse breed. People think they're spicy, hot, and too hard to retrain. They are actually so easy, you just have to take your time with them. They're used to training every single day, used to hard work, running, swimming, all of it.
My Thoroughbred, Angel, is a tough cookie. She was champion three year old of the year back in 2022 as a racehorse. She had an awesome racing career, winning over $400k on the track.
I got to ride her the FIRST ride off the track, that's how quiet she was. And still is. She's been home for 5 months now. We're going to breed her to a nice stallion in February, and have her baby hopefully be as nice as a racehorse as she was.
This is the progression of Angel in the last 5 months. From racehorse to my little pony. 💚
