adhesion [Naomi/Investigation]
Naomi frustratedly slammed her transit pass on the countertop, covering it with her hand. Tsubasa and Ruri - two students with whom her last words had been anything but pleasant. Of course, she still felt that Ruri had betrayed Takumi after his confession in the last trial, but that didn’t mean this was a good thing to happen. Everything was just…so fucked up.
And this was the first time two bodies had been discovered after a motive, wasn’t it? It wasn’t like Nomura or Michi- no, Miho - who had been killed by Monobear as an example. She could feel goosebumps rise up on the back of her neck as she wondered if the murderer was going to try taking out everyone; after all, then there would be nobody to find them guilty, right? They’d already gone so far as to poison the water…
Noticing Tora’s expression, she suddenly found herself reaching out to give the other girl’s hand a reassuring squeeze with her own.
"We’re gonna find who did this, okay? I’m sick of playing Monobear’s screwed-up game. Being afraid or trying to ignore what’s goin’ on hasn’t done shit for me, so…after this, I’m not gonna stop until I find a way out! And then we can all laugh in his fuckin’ face!"
…Hopefully she hadn’t been too forward just then. She didn’t want one of the few students left - one she got along with, at that - to start avoiding her. After a pause, Naomi stepped back and looked away.
"Uh…I guess what I’m trying to say is…the faster we catch this culprit, the sooner we can kiss this place goodbye, y’know? There’s gotta be something we’re missing. You wanna check the trash cans, or maybe the chairs and tables outside? Or we could search both together, make sure we get a better look.”
Naomi's hand was warm and comforting and from it, a safe confidence seemed to emenate. Toragesa was impressed - or was it maybe pride? - to see her friend step up and take charge of herself and their situation. Naomi... Really was a strong person, Toragesa thought to herself.
"Uhhh... I- Yes, ma'am!"
Was all Toragesa could say to fill the silence before Naomi stepped back and let go of her hand. A faint warmth still lingered in the hand that Toragesa bunched up into a fist, also looking away. Naomi did seem to have a better grasp on the situation then Toragesa had here, so it only seemed logical to listen to her.
"Sure, I can - y'know, look in the trash. 'Cause... Yeah."
Typical janitor work, rooting around through the trash - but it was the least pleasant of the two, so it'd just be rude to leave it to Naomi to do.
Toragesa looked down into the trash can, and if she didn't see something right at the top, gingerly stuck her hand down to shift the garbage around a bit to try and find something. Immediately after, disgusted by her now completely unhygenic hands, Toragesa went to turn the tap on so she could wash her hands without a word.
