Looking back on JJBA Part 1, I've come to realize that even though it is very great, it has a lot of gaping plotholes that might take a viewer out of the experience. For instance, Dio manages to defeat Dire's Thunder Cross Split Attack, something that should be impossible, since it's perfect in attack and defense and no fighter has ever been able to defeat it.

There's actually a perfectly plausible explanation for how Dio was able to overcome it, but it's really long-winded and technical, so I've placed it beneath a break:
