So I haven’t seen the Supergirl finale yet, but I’ve read some spoilers and while I wish the best for Chris (i’m happy he won’t have to deal with massive amounts of hate anymore), him not being on the show anymore doesn’t make narrative sense since this season has seemed to have built up the fact that Mon-el would be staying in the present with Kara and that he’s the love of her life. From what I’ve read, the Karamel goodbye was open ended so there’s a chance for them to get back together if Chris returns at some point. I’ve also read that the goodbye was rushed and not at all what it should have been, which is really disappointing. While watching this season, I haven’t felt any doubts towards Karamel not getting back together at some point, but with Chris having left the show, those doubts have manifested. I’m upset that the writers have seemingly built up Karamel as endgame for Mon-el to only have a 2 season arc, but at least there’s a chance that Chris will return for the finale or something. Karamel is the reason I started watching this show and it’s the main reason I’ve continued to watch it. I don’t have a huge attachment to Supergirl other than Karamel, so I’ve decided to stop watching the show unless something changes my mind. That something most likely being Karamel-related.
