The “New Earth” era of Kara Zor-El, which started with Superman/Batman #8 may have only lasted 7 years, but it held a substantial amount of appearances by the Girl of Steel. It also was a hard list to compile for several reasons. Many issues during this time period were cowritten by multiple writers. In these cases, since I have no sure way of knowing who contributed exactly how much, I give each writer credit for the whole story. This may lead to some inflated page counts in some cases, but since I have limited time to do thorough research on the subject it seems a fair compromise. During this period James Robinson eeks slightly ahead of Sterling Gates with both having 1000 plus pages written! Robinson wrote many issues of Superman that featured Kara, and added her to the roster of his Justice League of America book. Gates’s run on Supergirl remains the gold standard for the character to this day. This chart does NOT include The Man of Steel Prequel or Adventures of Supergirl (those will be counted with the Post-Flashpoint Supergirl material and push Gates ahead of Robinson in pages.) Hopefully, that tally will take less time than this one did! For artists, Jamal Igle just barely outpaces Mark Bagley. Igle was of course Gates’s partner in crime for the majority of that run, while Bagley gets credit for Robinson’s Justice League and her appearances in Trinity. This was for the most part, a wonderful era of Supergirl.
