INT. A HALLWAY IN THE PALACE, JUST OUTSIDE TURGON'S STUDY.

Idril and Tuor lean against the study door, both looking surprised and tired.

TUOR

That went well!

IDRIL

Almost disturbingly well. No insults, no deadly quests, not even a lecture.

TUOR

We should probably have the wedding now, before he sobers up and realizes he gave us his blessing.

IDRIL

Oh, he wasn't drunk. He is just terribly fond of you. I didn't even need to give the speech I had prepared.

(Beat)

TUOR

You're disappointed that you had no chance to give the speech, aren't you.

IDRIL

It's a very good speech! I was up all night writing it!
