Years of combat experience welled up in Liam suddenly. Something wasn’t right he felt the threat long before he heard it. Longer still before he figured out what it was. Normally he’d have cleared out of the area, given whatever was here a wide berth.

Unfortunately for him, he saw a young woman out in the woods Liam couldn’t just leave her to deal with whatever was coming especially since it was closing in. Moving quickly he threw himself between the threat and the young woman Pokeball already in hand. Releasing his newest team member a Centiskorch without a name yet he only hoped that the bond would be strong enough to take on whatever was about to come through the trees. 

“Don’t worry about me.”

Liam was interrupted by a tree being knocked over a large roar of displeasure tearing through the sky. A very angry very large vileplume had made its presence known to the two.

So I need to work on interacting more and getting my muses out there. If anyone sounds interesting lemme know with a message or something. Or like for a random muse.

@superiorfirepower - Liam Tine, a generic Trainer™ who’s also a pretty good chef.

@lillypadtine - Lillian Tine, Liam’s cousin, she’s more interested in contests than battles but sees the Galar league as a chance for her to gain some renown and popularity.

@caretaker-dexter - Dexter King , Pokemon breeder who has some pretty big social anxiety when humans are involved. He would much rather hang out with the pokemon he raises for battling trainers than deal with the trainers himself. 

@silxntium - Burned Ex operative in the Pokemon universe. He’ll help people, for a price, and has a strong sense of morals. Those same morals are what got him in trouble to begin with. ((Basically I watched a bunch of burn notice and thought that a character who was chaotic good as heck would be fun.))

“The most reckless? There’s actually quite a lot, to be honest. Shoot I suppose the most reckless thing I have ever done was when I took on my best friend. He had.... or has.... or .... Honestly I don’t know at this point I haven’t seen him in a long time. Anyways long story short, I punched a demigod in the face.”

Oh it was the girl from the cake shop. He probably should apologize again for the joke going too far. Liam shook his head before responding. “No that’s alright. C'est moi qui dois m'excuser. J'ai poussé la blague beaucoup trop loin.“ “

“Ah, vous parlez kalosien.”  She was a bit happy by this.  She could speak Unovan just fine, but her accent was incredibly thick, so it was nice to get to speak her native tongue.  “Non non, c’est ma faute aussi.  Je ne suis pas bien avec des blagues humaines.  Je devrais savoir meilleure.”

With a Friendly smile, Liam gave a nod confirming he spoke the language. He was from Laverre after all.  “Eh bien, je suis né et j'ai grandi là-bas. Il semble que vous soyez plus à l'aise de parler kalosien que vous étiez avec unovien” At the second statement he chuckled a bit and with a wry smile joked about this too.  “Vous ne comprenez pas les blagues humaines? Que voulez-vous dire? N'êtes-vous pas humain? Ou est-ce que je parle à quelqu'un de l'espace?“

“If it doesn’t come from experience whats the point of sharing any sentiment at all? I didn’t expect, whatever is going on. Besides, I think the pain is what makes it have the impact.”

Queue Liam’s trademark idiot smile and the fact that everything that should haunt him. For instance, a near-death experience at the hands of a very angry Military general far from home in a time not his own. Just seemed to roll right off. Of course, what he couldn’t shake were the things that had happened to others. The things he couldn’t prevent.

“Just because something happened from experience doesn’t mean you need to retell the whole story bit by bit. The sentiment can be shared while sparing the bloody details. Yes, the realness of a story and the pain of it reminds us of the humanity behind the morals, and I get the seriousness you were trying to impart, but dear…” Another sigh. Liam could be a headstrong, blunt idiot at times… but she still loved him for it. “Love, you remember who handled most of the diplomatic meetings, yes? I think it’s time you learned a thing or two about being a diplomat in this day and age.”

“That isn’t fair! I handled some of the negotiations.” Omitting the fact that the ones that Liam handled always seemed to. . . dissolve. Smart move Liam, but it was true he definitely viewed most problems in his life as a nail with himself as the hammer. One way or another. Maybe he should take Naia’s advice.

“What Chaos? Some kid was asking for some advice and I answered.”

“I did what was right in the moment.” Yuuto only thought the table’s had turned. Liam was a special kind of stupid. The kind of stupid who’d throw himself in-front of a bullet if it meant saving someone. “Where I was. A funeral would have been a pile of rocks, a few kind words of some allies, and my sword to mark it… If I was lucky. So, Tell me more about your friend? What makes you think he’s not safe?”

      If only they would both be more open with each other, this conversation might go differently. For now, Yuuto is wary and extremely concerned. LARPing..?

      “If he stays with the people he loves, he’ll be in danger. But if he leaves… At least danger isn’t guaranteed… I don’t know what advice to give.”

Larping? That’s a bit insulting. Considering all the danger Liam’s put himself through keeping certain things in check. Yuuto boils it down to Larping? Well, It could be worse. He could just think Liam is off his rocker. “So you’d rather he run? Leave the ones he cares about to pick up the mess. If he’s any sort of man with a backbone I don’t think he’ll do that. Especially if he loves these people you’re talking about. Life’s full of danger. Sometime’s it’s about realizing what’s worth fighting for. What danger is acceptable if it means being with those you truly love.” 

“You said that the danger is still there if he leaves. Sounds to me like he needs to put his foot down. Tell some people to take a hike. Make them understand that he’s done running and that if they’re going to hurt him, or anyone else. They’re going to have hell to pay for doing it.”
