likes to read mystery novels/watch mystery movies/shows but is not that great at deducing things himself so he’s like :0 when the culprit is revealed. would watch mystery LPs bc hes bad at playing them

shslesotericist ITS BEEN.. LITERAL MONTHS BUT OH MY GOD I FINALLY DID IT... THE BLINDSHIP CHARACTER DESIGN EXERCISE

okay like. Tsubaki’s a choreographer but not what you immediately think of when you think of choreography, which would be like. you know choreographing dance moves to music. Instead she choreographs a broad range of things from gymnastic routines to parades to yo-yo routines. The thing is she hardly demonstrates them herself, she just has a knowing eye and a tendency to micromanage performers. Whiiich can be pretty difficult if the person you’re working with is more of a visual learner and has a harder time adjusting their motions with just words, no matter how detailed you’re being. And Tsubaki refuses to demonstrate herself, whether from lack of skill at the routine in question or just a stubbornness that the student can figure it out if they just tried, GOD! Still, to  minimize setbacks she took up figure drawing to semi-convey what she had in mind to others.

Though pretty strict and kind of an asshole, her choreography is undeniably skilled, and evokes whatever emotions he was trying to convey quite nicely. Of course, she recognizes that the act is only partly because of her own efforts, a majority is dependent on the performer themself. Which is frustrating to her because an artists personal connection to their performance can elevate any choreography, and that’s not necessarily guaranteed for every person, for every act. So a lot of the time she’s standing off to the side, slightly salty that if this person had experienced heartbreak this motion would be even more tragic, if this person hadn’t failed their test the overall run-through would flow much better. A lot of performance is based on subjectivity, she knows that. Doesn’t mean she has to be satisfied with it though.

Outside of work she’s less of a nitpick but like? frustrated bc of the time she puts in she’s always behind on like trends/latest things her friends/peers are into. Doesn’t have any clue who the actor in the newest blockbuster is, doesn’t recognize the catchy opening of the hottest anime of the season. She just doesn’t want to feel out of the loop of something everyone else seems to know, but also doesn’t want to sacrifice her off hours on things she doesn’t care about when she could be like. sleeping or lazing about. Theres a minimal attempt to catch up on latest manga trends but stubbornly refuses anime with “the authors original intent is captured better in the manga” when really she just doesn’t want to get caught up in the music, when REALLY that isn’t much of a risk in the first place she just fixated on that reason for why she can’t set aside 30 minutes of time to watch the newest episode because it would interfere with her ~predisposed concepts of music and form~ when really she just doesn’t want to. It’s bullshit bc she doesn’t even tell anyone that reason it’s a reason she set aside for herself privately so like?? She does that a bunch too, set up a bunch of flaky personal rules for herself like, if I see an even number of green lights on my way home I’ll hop up the stairs, if my sister is home before three I’ll practice piano again. If you tilt your head and squint from a distance it could sorta be construed as self-discipline but it’s really not. It’s bullshit.

HOW TO ORDER

Send me a fanmail at http://ultimaterpgmaker.tumblr.com saying you’d like to commission me AND your Skype username, if you have one. If you’d rather not talk over Skype, I can set up a private chatroom for us to use, or we can talk over Tumblr — however, it’s much easier for me to use some kind of chat client.

Give me a detailed description of what you’d like for your character sprite, and, if possible, a reference image. (Images from dollmaker websites like dreamselfy are fine!) For base sprites, I default to a frontal view, so if you want something else, please let me know!

Once we sort out the specifics of your order, I’m going to ask you to pay half upfront. I take payment through Paypal, and I’ll give you my payment information.

I’ll send you progress shots of your sprites as I draw them. That’s the time to tell me if you want anything changed! (This is why Skype is easiest for me, so I can send you real-time progress shots.)

Once the final sprite has been finished to your satisfaction, I’ll ask you to pay the other half.

After that’s done, I’ll send you your sprites both as transparent .PNG files and .PSD files.

Shoko: Might have watched anime just to pass time and maybe the game for same reason but would be super casual player who probably deletes it in a couple months to make space on her phone. Doesn’t have any strong opinions but does like how strong Umi’s voice is.

Ran: Did not watch the anime or play the game but sees some people mention it and rolls his eyes bc NERDS. If he was forced to pick a girl he’d probably wave his finger and jab at Eli.

Minhee: Maybe not anime but would deffo d/l the game if noticing the popularity and tweet about it probably. Gets a good hang of it but probably not good enough to do expert score matches without 25% chance of failing. Tweets a parody of Nico-nico-nii. Since she just plays the game she doesnt have that good of a handle on the girls but does like Nico and Kotori. Maki is her favorite voice but Lily White is her favorite group.

Nene: Game maybe but probably spite-watches the anime with friends to pick at it bc she’s ridiculous. Slightly partial to Rin and Nico bc they’re the most relatable. Denounces the entire thing as fanservice trash but some songs do get stuck in her head and she is mad that they are catchy.

More like Dance of Triangles, am I right?

This is something that’s been in my head for a while, but finding the right instruments to use was a pain unholy, let me tell you. I think I’m pretty satisfied with the final lineup, though: piano as a base, glockenspiel for the bell-like dance-y sound, two ocarinas for Rune, bass koto for added Japan ( + completing the DA3 instrumentalist squad), the obligatory triangle (”ding!”), and…a mystery instrument, just because I can.

This entire song is a homage to a certain series. Can you guess which one it is? Can you guess before you start even listening? If not, I’ll post something later today that should make it obvious.
