second season! same rank, which i got to during the actual on-season (and was in the top 500 players)! but the game was absolutely miserable after the on-season, so im going to try not to be anywhere near this in the future
didnt realize the season would have ended when it did, so i was too busy messing around in casual matches to rank up... 😭!!!
this season went a lot better though, i feel like i really improved my skills and have gotten a lot better at playing! i feel very comfortable where im at with my skills.... mostly
i wanted to write out my predictions to this but i cant stand twitters quote rt system so im posting here hi
wol: definitely a buff for wol, hes somewhat useless right now. when talking to wol mains, they seem convinced that itll be wols hold ability (shield of light) because right now its pretty useless. it also especially feels useless to stand there and just give allies a tiny boost in defense when its like well it would be better to just go and help them. it would be a good adjustment especially since itll work somewhat as a thing to run after and try to stop him from doing, similar to rikkus quartet of bravery. i can also see a small boost to any of his other stats, to make him just the tiniest bit more of a solid shield. movement speed boost might be nice, too.
firion + gaia: the two of them are highest in win rates across most seasons (firion especially!!! the second he came in, he was basically #1 in win rate immediately), so i expect them to both be nerfed. for firion, i think it will be in either defense or hp, mostly just to make him a little easier to kill. for gaia, i think since shes getting a nerf to fated moment, i think she'll have a veryyyy small adjustment. maybe making her hold ability 40 to 45% instead of 50%, or something. i dont know much about her, but i think her attack is what keeps her win rate high, so itll likely be a small adjustment there instead of def/hp since she's decently easy to kill..... iiiif you can outlive her attacks.
terra <3: i main terra, so this is going to cloud my judgement, but i hope so fucking bad that it's a boost to her attack, like to where prompts or balthiers is to where shes at x1.25 or even 1.30x like sephiroth (<- NOT GOING TO HAPPEN). shes impossible to play without surge, and so her attack HAS to be upgraded. bonus, i think trance will just be a cooldown decrease as all others have been cooldown adjustments, so i cant see anything else. but oh my god if we could get a heal added on or an attack buff as well OHHHH PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEE
rinoa: i think that rinoa will definitely get her attack nerfed, she's insanely powerful as is and one of the top played characters because of it. but i think if they do this, theyll also boost her hp or defense, since those are extremely low because of her high attack. but imo definitely a decrease to attack, sorry rinoa mains but itll be okay you will still be so wonderful to be allied with and so scary to play against
balthier: balthier feels like hes in an awkward spot, and i cant see him getting a decrease in anything. i think they might boost his defense or hp, since its really hard for him to survive long enough to do like... anything. either way i hope the adjustments will help him become more of a solid character to play, like with how they adjusted zidane. oh also cooldown decrease for element of treachery, and maybe higher damage to bosses if they would add anything, so he could win more.
lightning: also definitely a buff, i think to hp or defense. she dies soooo often and one of the characters where i see her and go after her since shes barely a threat. i could also see attack boost, to keep with the agiles being weaker but able to out-hit most characters. but im still leaning to hp boost.
prompto: hes a weird one where i just cant tell what theyll do? maybe decrease his hold ability damage? increase his defense so he doesnt die that much? hes super inoffensive in battle and like honestly just fine where he is so im surprised hes even considered. the promptos also just seemed to be like what are they going to do to my boy so i just dont really know

I was talking about this with a friend but a really interesting cultural shift over the last ohhhhhh ten years maybe is that many people in fandoms view themselves as stakeholders and not audience members. Because of that, they think that the fandom should be running things, or at least have an acknowledged say in how something is run. And every reminder that they are not in control, no matter how small, bothers them.
