I’ve mostly been dealing with bureaucracy, on the book writing/publishing front. Switching the Romanian POD company from booksprint to bookbite went relatively smoothly, and while there are things I dislike about bookbite – such as their heavy use of AI for ‘graphic design’ – I do think they are doing a better job when it comes to marketing and reach. Heh, an announcement inside another announcement, we’re doing fractal marketing over here. I’m really excited (and nervous) regarding both the event and the new novel I’m publishing, but the only way out is through and the ‘risk of staying a bud’ yada yada.
Regarding the Printed Edges asterisk above, it was the condition for participating alongside bookbite. I don’t think any of my books need them (I can go on a whole rant as to why), and they are all available on the bookbite website without them, but at Bookfest only the Printed Edges versions will be available. I’ve designed the Edges myself, as the alternative was AI generated AND for a fee! Speaking of fees, it costs me more to participate in the event than I could make if I sold out at said event. But hurray, we have AI to do art for us, aren’t you glad? Well, I hope I’ll at least get to meet a lot of cool writers and readers – and visit Bucharest, since I’ve never done this before properly.
Other than this, I’m getting back to working on the Soarers series, by editing the fourth book. I’m trying to keep up my strike of publishing one book a year, which is a little insane while trying to juggle everything else in life. M-am confruntat în mare parte cu birocrația, pe frontul scrierii/publicării de cărți. Schimbarea companiei românești de Print on Demand de la booksprint la bookbite a mers relativ bine și, deși există lucruri care nu-mi plac la bookbite - cum ar fi utilizarea intensă a inteligenței artificiale pentru „design grafic” - cred că fac o treabă mai bună în ceea ce privește marketingul. Ceea ce mă conduce la:

ZÂNA ȘI LEOICA - o dramă romantică safică pentru adolescenți, plasată în orașul în care am crescut din România, la mijlocul anilor 2000, disponibilă doar în engleză deocamdată.
Ha, un anunț în interiorul unui alt anunț, facem marketing fractal aici. Sunt foarte entuziasmată (și emoționată) atât în legătură cu evenimentul, cât și cu noul roman pe care îl public, dar 'the only way out is through' și „the risk of staying a bud” bla bla bla.
În ceea ce privește asteriscul de după Printed Edges de mai sus, asta era condiția de participare alături de bookbite. Nu cred că vreuna dintre cărțile mele are nevoie de ele (aș putea avea multe de zis în privința asta), și toate sunt disponibile pe site-ul bookbite fără ele, dar la Bookfest vor fi disponibile doar versiunile Printed Edges. Am desenat eu însămi Edge-urile, deoarece alternativa a fost generată de inteligența artificială ȘI contra cost! Apropo de costuri, mă costă mai mult să particip la eveniment decât aș putea câștiga dacă aș vinde toate cărțile prinate pentru evenimentul respectiv. Dar ura, avem inteligența artificială care să facă artă pentru noi, nu e minunat? Sper ca măcar să întâlnesc o mulțime de scriitori și cititori faini - și să vizitez Bucureștiul, din moment ce nu am mai făcut asta niciodată ca atare.
În afară de asta, lucrez iar la seria Zburătorii, editând a patra carte. Încerc să-mi mențin recordul de a publica o carte pe an, ceea ce e puțin cam nebunesc, având în vedere că încerc să jonglez cu toate celelalte aspecte ale vieții între timp. Voi face o altă postare despre lansarea Zânei și Leoaicei; de altfel, urmăriți-i pe renataroshu pe tiktok și sper să ne vedem la București!

sovereign was a much cooler reaper than harbinger. harbinger kind of had kai leng vibes with how helplessly angry and obsessed it was with shepard. sovereign just said cool shit and stayed aloof.
