And so, it begins. As a fun little experiment, two alternate worlds decide to swap kings to let them observe a possibly completely different kingdom. it'll only be for a few weeks. surely nothing can go wrong.

Mario Galaxy movie being disappointing is not enough to stop the fixation

Of all the criticisms I’ve seen about The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, I think the only one I completely disagree with is that there wasn’t enough interaction between the bros.

Unlike the first movie their relationship wasn’t the driving force of the story, so there wasn’t much need to put a whole lot of emotional weight on their scenes, but there was plenty of goofy banter, exchanged praise, affectionate jabs and so on.

And while I still think Bowser warmed up to Mario too quickly, I quite liked this quick interaction with Luigi:

Bowser (nodding toward Mario): “You take care of him, okay?”

Luigi: “I always do.”

And he really does. While Mario does do a majority of the fighting, Luigi does an impressive amount of swooping in to save Mario’s ass at the last minute. He also continues being emotional support, hyping his brother up about how much he deserves to be with Peach despite being a plumber.

In a perfect world I would’ve put them through more angst (y’all know how I am), but I’m not at all disappointed with what we got. Honestly I’m super hyped to get my hands on a digital copy of the movie just so I can rewatch their interactions frame-by-frame in HD.
