her name is Çilem Doğan and she was sentenced to 15 years for this. the court initially wanted to give her life imprisonment. she was released on bail in june 2016 and has since become a symbol for the movement against femicide and violence against women in Turkey.

Thoughts on the award show tonight

Laughing forever that fandom basically handed the biggest award night in Mexican television to Amar a Muerte, by voting a straight ticket down for FOURTEEN categories + Maca’s little brother. (I actually feel bad for Gonzalo because I like Guille). That’s gotta be a record, right?

But still. Go fandom. Good thing that theme song is so good, because it was played so often (WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME THAT CARLOS RIVERA WAS HOT? He has that voice and he looks like that? Totally unfair).

The important thing though is that all my girls (Maca, Barbara, Claudia, Angelique, and Raquel) won. Maca forgetting her award and being more interested in getting a platform to speak is pretty much par the course for why we love her. Same with Barbara and her little high fives going up there. Why are my kids so cute? I love the team.

Though it must be said- Barbara was not playing around with that dress. (Holy shit, fandom, are you guys okay?) I also really dug Angelique’s hair and dress tonight. Oh! And Alejandro proving that he can totally rock a suit, when it fits him and doesn’t have a priest collar, made me feel a lot better.

I honestly can’t wait to see all the insta stories for the parties tonight. They all deserve it, and I couldn’t be happier for all of them.
