Has Love and Deepspace Lost What Made It Special? Ending in 2027?
I don't know what the future of Love and Deepspace will look like. But if players keep having more and more things taken away from them because the company cannot distinguish between right and wrong, acts out of incomptence, or cannot decide what kind of game and story it actually wants to offer its fans, then at some point the question arises: what does this game even exist for anymore?
The purpose of an otome game like this is to provide new content, new stories, new experiences, and new characters with different personalities so that every player can find characters who match their own personality, preferences, and tastes. If you complete them fully rather than only doing part of them or leaving half of them unfinished/forgotten with their stories along with the fans being left waiting endlessly. That is exactly what forms the core and essence of this type of game.
However, if all of these aspects are removed or are no longer being developed, it gives the impression that, at some point, it is no longer truly about the players or the game itself, no matter how often the company promises or claims otherwise. These kinds of decisions should have been considered much earlier and planned more carefully. Above all, the developers should have thought about whether they truly wanted to release their game globally in the first place.
If a company cannot handle criticism, backlash, or hostility; cannot distinguish between legitimate criticism, misinformation, and coordinated hate campaigns such as cyberbullying; and then allows itself to be influenced in an unprofessional manner by bullies, toxic & immature individuals, misunderstandings, or false narratives, especially when something is actually loved by many people rather than hated but gets cancelled anyway, then perhaps it should neither be running an international gaming company nor participating in the global market at all. Unfortunately, that was neither wise nor mature. If a company is not suited for such challenges and responsibilities, cannot stand up for its own game, cannot provide evidence when necessary, and would rather leave everything to others, then perhaps the development of such games should be left to experienced and professional companies instead. In Europe, America etc, situations like these are very rare or do not occur at all. Throughout all the years and across the many different gaming communities and genres we have experienced, we have never seen anything like this before. And that is exactly the point. It honestly makes everyone wonder: why do these unusual situations keep happening in parts of Asia, such as China and society? It raises many questions and even leads people to wonder whether companies like these can still be trusted in the future.
I am still generously giving Love and Deepspace until the end of 2026 to develop new stories and meaningfully continue existing storylines. Because if, after an entire year, everything simply repeats itself, the same content keeps appearing, and no new characters or stories are introduced, player inactivity will inevitably increase. By 2027, the situation could look much worse than it does today. The excitement of discovering something new disappears, the suspense fades away, the sense of mystery vanishes, and the story and its surprises become like a ghost town, everything becomes dead and empty. It will become boring if the game continues in that direction.
I have not deleted my Love and Deepspace account yet. (But you can delete it now if u want or wait) I am giving them time and that's generous, kind enough. However, I have already cleared my profile, removed pics, memories, other content, and replaced my profile picture with an image of a dog plushie as a form of protest in their game, as a reminder of Valko. I may even change my name there to Valko, although I currently no longer want to spend money or really do anything there anymore. My account is practically empty anyway!
At the moment, there is nothing genuinely new for me there, and purchases no longer feel worthwhile. The game currently feels boring to me. It feels as if things only change slightly while everything else remains exactly the same. Like an illusion of something new, when in reality everything stays unchanged. In other words: nothing new at all.
However, if nothing positive changes for Love and Deepspace by the end of 2026, I will go to the in-game settings and permanently delete (deregister) my account in 2027. The reason is that with the removal of Valko, the very thing that made the game exciting and engaging was destroyed.
Unfortunately, many players already had little motivation in 2025 and were waiting for new content and fresh impulses. However, the popular new character Valko, who gained more and more fans and has now become something of a "legend of Love and Deepspace," represented that excitement, that anticipation of a new adventure, and a new story. This decision destroyed that very hope, unless the developers and everyone involved with the game return after a break with clearer minds and a better understanding of the situation.
Thank you for this game and for everything it once represented to so many players. I still hope that one day Love and Deepspace will find its way back to what made it special and exciting in the first place.
With hope for change and a better future,
Players still waiting for that spark to return!
😬-> I still had an old post from March. Back then, I already had a strange feeling about Love and Deepspace and wrote about what felt like the beginning of the end. It all started with Caleb. I found myself wondering and trying in vain to figure out and explain why his story had been written the way it was…
