@surutakai.
Ā Ā Ā ā Ā ... Ā very.Ā ā
he quips back in a scoff, gaze hardly parting from their steadfast fixation forward as a hand moves deftly to pull the loose rim of the bag shut.
Ā Ā Ā ā Ā youāre missing out. Ā ā
hc + hiiro :')
send me Ā ā hc ā Ā + a word and iāll write a headcanon about it regarding my character.Ā // always accepting.
PERHAPS EVEN MORE THAN AĀ ā FATHER ā Ā (Ā multi-faced, paradoxically omnipotent and absentĀ )Ā hiiroĀ (Ā or nora )Ā represents the past that he sought to leave behind. Ā most of my thoughts on their relationship come from when he revokes her name ; itās an abrupt action that, to me at least, felt largely symbolic rather than having ties to any interpersonal hostilities. Ā thatās not a revolutionary thought.
i think the sentiment / dynamic that lay just beyond the action are a lot more multi-faceted. Ā iāve always believed that yato would, more than anything, empathize when hiiro. Ā he doesnāt hate her. Ā how could he ?Ā they were raised as siblings.Ā i think the love there was real, especially on yatoās end, as a child whom had little other contact with people. Ā perhaps it wouldĀ be a little stockholm syndrome-y, but i donāt think that discounts it at all, especially considering the circumstances.
hiyori and yukine point out that in the moment of revoking the name yato was trembling.Ā itās not something that was easy for him Ā (Ā and honestly, thatās the only moment that i was mad at the pair, but thatās a whole other thing entirely )Ā . Ā yato knowsĀ the punishments that are levied on her when heād misbehave, and more than anything, i think he knows what itās like to live with father, and has seen the effects that it has on them Ā (Ā hiiro especially, whom is presumed to have been with father for longer, probably muchĀ longer )Ā .
i donāt think yato places them on two separate planes of existence when it comes down to that relationship in particular, i think that he sees it more as a line, a single plane of progress in father twisting them, simplified in my mind to being wrong and right. himself pulling back to theĀ ā right ā polarity, having been able to escape, and hiiro on theĀ ā wrong ā end of the spectrum.
i think this because hiiro has little discernable personality from what weāre seen of her. Ā i think this lack of anything to form her in yatoās mind, yato would inherently project his own emotions onto her, especially as a child. Ā in this manner, i think that perhaps even more than himself, heād want to save hiiro.Ā (Ā thatās also seen in the flashback / sakura chapters ; yato shows visible guilt and actively moves to help her. i donāt see him blaming her for sakuraās death, i doubt to be mad at hiiro for that had even crossed his mind.Ā )
so i think the trembling, and further, the fear that comes when he revokes her name is a mixture of both the fear of completely severing the ties to a past, and a guilt of leaving hiiro to be with father. Ā i think that in his idealistic goal to be someone whoĀ ā helps peopleĀ ā, i donāt think it wouldnāt be too out of left field to think that hiiro would be included in that.
further, i think that complete severance from the past is something that is further manifested in the coldness which he shows towards hiiro the entire time leading up to that, and afterwards. Ā thereās something that screamsĀ ā defense mechanismĀ ā in those actions to me, a deflection of guilt which i donāt have any problem thinking that yato harbors for doing what he did.
send meĀ āĀ hc āĀ + a word and iāll write a headcanon about it regarding my character.

ā° Ā ā ā šššššššššš Ā ā Ā kamui placedĀ Ā his hands on his hips. perceptive ?? no, more like heās part of the undead. then his former species being one of magic-practicing humans. humanoids ?? who knew. Ā āĀ itās a long story. all i can tell you is that the wardās broken, so you need to work quickly. if you want, i can lend you a hand. you gods are busy, right ??Ā ā Ā not to be condescending this time around. kamui scratched his head. then turned to his left. little creatures. odd ones ā¦
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā they wereĀ Ā ignored in favor of focusing on his issue. the artist placed his hand on the mural, over one number in particular and stared at his work. fading metallic portions, a lack of sharp edges. everything was smooth and transitioned nicely. he turns back to yato and gave a faint smile. Ā āĀ here. only the number will be erased. so you onāt have to work so hard.Ā ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā his handĀ glowed. little sparks filled up the outlines of the vandalized potion, leaving everything else intact. kamui wasnāt versed well enough in magic to clear it himself, so outside assistance was mandatory. he steps back as the sparks aligned themselves into lines that curved ; like those neon signs on certain establishments. except just the edges had an off-white and sharp glimmer. Ā āĀ and done. you can start working now. iāll try to make sure the place doesnāt get ⦠polluted, so to speak.Ā ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Normally, itād add insult to injury. Ā But, jointly with chaos Ā (Ā bona fide divine warfare )Ā comes a particular appreciationĀ for any state of non-business, and so, the god isnāt particularly inclined to quip back at thisĀ particular comment. Ā
Rather, itās definitely the Ā ā wardĀ ā Ā and Ā ā brokenĀ ā Ā notion that piques his interest, still more in the nonchalance in which the other rattled such armageddon-esque language off. Ā ... Ā and further still in the fact that heād never heard such terms used before, nor had he heard prior of such a catastrophic event.
... Ā but he supposed it couldnāt have been of too much importance, given the otherās aforementioned nonchalance and general preoccupation.
So the deity reluctantly silences the curiosity, instead fixating on a hand and a disappearing number. Ā Suspension of disbelief afforded him enough to accept the power without much trouble, but it begged another : just the number ?Ā if he couldāve done that with such seeming ease then why the hellĀ wouldnāt he just Ā --
The change weighing down his pocket silences his thoughts once more, and the god merely takes a few strides to close the distance between himself and the mural. Ā Now he has a better understanding of what he was meant to be fixing, eyes darting about the wall, mentally filling in colors and lines accordingly.
Ā Ā Ā ā Ā Fair enough,Ā ā Ā He speaks, to the wall. Ā ā Ā ... Ā Nantoka,Ā youāre sure you can handle that ?Ā ā Ā Frankly, itād seem that everything would make more sense had the roles been reversed. Ā Bitterness,Ā (Ā albeit justifiedĀ bitterness )Ā is what heād chalk it down to. Ā ā Ā They can get pretty tough if youāre not careful. Ā ā

@surutakai has summoned ( ⤠) the dead witch.
ā did you really just right your name in a public bathroom? youāre going to have someone calling thinking youāre a prostituteĀ or something. ā the witch can only imagine what kinds of perverts would take a look at the wall, find a number written, & assume itās someone looking for a hook-up.Ā
Ā Ā Ā ā Ā ... Ā youād be surprised. Ā ā
He notes, a bit off-handedly. Going through the motions of finishing the note Ā (Ā an advertisement, just as much of a plea for help from the advertiser as it was to the ones acting on it Ā )Ā , itās only after heās finished flicking his arm in a fluid motion to form a heart that he glances in the otherās direction.
Ā Ā Ā ā Ā Only those troubledĀ can see it , so pervertsĀ are never really a problem.Ā ā

&& @surutakai
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā he looked around in bewilderment, eyes turning to look at every direction in his perimeter. the damn cat had promised not too leave his side tonight, what with it being a very merry festival where humans and spirits alike will mingle, but look what happened now. natsume was not in the wrong for being cautious, and therefore, not in the wrong for wanting his bodyguard to actually be around for once. after a moment, he decided to ask around instead, careful in pinpointing who are human and who arenāt. then he came across a male in a track suit ( āquestionable taste in fashion, but takashiās not going to comment on that), who was sitting on a bench nursing what he presumed to be a cup of sake.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā ā uh, sir, have you seen my cat around? Ā heās fat, and kind of resembles a manekinekoā¦ā
Ā Ā Ā ā Yer catĀ ?Ā Whyās it always gotta be a damnĀ cat ?Ā Ā Why donāt you humansĀ -- hicĀ -- understand that ām good fer other things ... too ... ā
Perhaps heās being overly Ā ( not to mention preemptively )Ā defensive Ā (Ā he hadnāt even fully understood, or even taken in the brief description of the feline )Ā . But the flush of his cheeks and the slur of his cadence betray all too well his state of intoxication, as a bit of the sake heād been holding slips over the rim of the cup with his motion to turn even transient attention to the youth. Coupled with this image, the deityās gaze was rimmed in red, eyes glassy with the remnants of withheld tears Ā (Ā of an entirely differentĀ situation, which had led him to the sake to begin with )Ā as he glances up at the teenager.
Ā Ā Ā ā Ā So, no,Ā I havenāt seen yer cat. Sorry, kid. Ā ā
