I am Engineer Walid Al-Qatrawi. I am 36 years old, a father of three children: Adam, Hala, and Nay. I was born and raised in Gaza, where my family and I have spent our entire lives.
Because of the ongoing conflict, we have been forced to leave our home and relocate multiple times in search of safety. Today, my family and I are displaced in southern Gaza, living in a fragile tent that does not provide the protection and stability my children need.
After repeated displacement, my children have lost the sense of security and normal life they once knew. Every day, we struggle to provide them with a safe and dignified environment. Our tent offers very limited protection from harsh conditions and the challenges of displacement. We urgently need to repair and equip it, build a private bathroom for our family, provide food, clean water, clothing, and essential supplies for our children. If possible, we also hope to secure a safer temporary home where our family can live with more stability.

💔 My Mother’s Life Depends on Your Kindness
My mother is in Gaza, where every day is a struggle to survive. Some time ago, she was injured when shrapnel from nearby shelling struck her back. She tried to endure the pain for as long as she could, but now her condition has become critical.
She has now been admitted to the hospital, and her condition is very serious. She is suffering from unbearable back pain, extreme exhaustion, and every passing day brings more suffering. Watching my mother fight through this pain while I can do so little is heartbreaking.
The doctors told us that she urgently needs emergency back surgery. They warned us that the operation must be performed within the next 6 days to prevent her condition from deteriorating further.
The cost of this life-saving surgery is $1,000.
Thanks to the incredible kindness of compassionate people, we have raised $292 so far ($188 from our previous appeal and $104 from our latest one). We are deeply grateful for every donation.

LGBTQ+ Refugees who are residing in South Sudan are severely in need of help and support. Everyday, they face discrimination and extreme violence. They also struggle to get access to food, a safe shelter, and basic medical care because of their identity.
Many who had come to South Sudan are from other countries like Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Ethiopia to avoid the discrimination they endured in their home countries, coming to South Sudan to hopefully find a safer place. Unfortunately, many are still in danger.

the state of katara’s fandom, even now in 2026, is just really sad. i struggle so much whenever i try to look through her character tag on literally any platform because it’s never just about her. it’s always flooded with shipping content or those shippers saying the most unhinged, deeply misogynistic shit about her
as long as shipping completely dominates the ATLA fandom, katara is never going to thrive as a standalone character and it’s entirely because of how people treat her in relation to the ships.
it’s sad because if you look at other massive fandoms, like naruto or various popular anime, the female characters have these huge solo fanbases. people just love them for who they are, drawing trending art prompts and hyping them up entirely outside of romance. and even within those anime ships, the female character is often the driving force of the popularity.
but with katara, it’s the exact opposite. those shippers love to claim they’re “katara stans first” but there is a very specific reason why katara has historically been one of the most disliked characters in atla alongside aang, despite being one half of one of the biggest fanon ships in the fandom. people ship zk for zuko even if they try to deny it. the overwhelming majority only care about him, which is why zuko gets massive amount of solo appreciation and content, while katara barely gets anything unless she’s attached to him 😭 #ConnectTheDots
you can’t even make the same argument for kataang because while it’s true that katara and aang both barely get solo content outside of their ship, kataang was universally disliked for a long time - not just as a ship but as individual characters by the wider fandom, especially in comparison to zuko.
