"Is that what you're calling me now?" Alex actually thought it was suitable - especially since the last job where he lost count of how many he killed. Well, lost count or he simply stopped counting to begin with. It also was possible that some of his memory was fading - not that he would ever admit to it.

Alex couldn't help the smirk that spread across his lips, if only for a moment. "I can paint a picture of it. A rumor here, a fable there - it's not that difficult. You just have to have the brain power and of course the motivation."

No matter where he was in this damned wasteland that was a given, but all considering the fact of how things turned out post war? Treading lightly wasn't easy. Everyone was aggressive and one wrong word or move could lead to a gun fight - reminded him of the old westerns. Though, he supposed that was accurate as things were pretty much lawless outside of actual established settlements.

I watched another fallout video talking about how the sole survivor is a Synth and about recall codes. Alex does have one , but uhh . . . I bet the only one who knows it is Shaun, who most likely forgot it.

Honesty was something difficult to come by. Honesty, was not what saved lives and helped people see that what they were doing was right. Honesty, was something for wives and tall tales about a future that may never come to pass. If someone wanted honesty? They could look through the barrel of a gun. That was as close as anyone would ever get in Alex's mind.
"And what I need is for you to take what I give you. To accept it because at the end of the day? It's us or them."

How many times had he felt it? How many times had he had that same feeling since getting out of the vault? Countless. Alex didn't even know know when it started, but it was always there. When he saw his own son being taken from his wife and when he escaped the vault to see the world was gone and it wasn't just a terrible nightmare.
Memories were a fickle thing to him. Always changing and morphing into something else. Something that wasn't exactly real, but an idealist version of events. Another reason he didn't dwell on them too long.
"And you can't do anything about it. It feels like everything is being stripped away from you. Being turned into something else because... there is no way to stop it. A realization sets in that this is a new reality. The feeling may fade, but the fact of what happened will be there. It always will be . . . it won't ever change."

He served in greatest fighting force that one had ever known. He knew how military operations worked and how they could fail if everyone wasn't on the same page. He knew when to shoot and when not to.
Just like he knew when he had to be ruthless and put his own feelings aside. Not because he wanted to, but because it was necessary at the end of the day for the greater good of either himself or the mission at hand.
"I don't know about you, but I would rather have to deal with with some Cult of the Atom members than this shit." Which was saying something all considering that Alex didn't want to touch them with a ten foot pole, but that was besides the point.

I know this has been disproved, but uhh this DID come up on my feed for either insta or youtube so - uhh that laughing guy in the power armor at the start of I think Fallout One? That was laughing after the guy from Canada got shot during the occupation / annexation? That was Alex, thank you!
