dragon training
the deadly nadder
we are voyagers, discoverers of the not-known, the unrecorded; we have no map;
H. D., from “The Walls Do Not Fall,” Selected Poems (via lifeinpoetry)
“No, no, no, don’t leave, Stormfly! Don’t go! Please?”
“Been trying to wash that dragon all day, poor thing.” “So tired she can’t see straight!”
I’m Riley. Hi, Riley. I’m Maya Penelope Hart. Hi, Maya. Are we friends forever? Whatever you want.
komiksans:
*coughs up blood* i mean im pretty chill you know nothing really gets to me and
Fuck stardust, my body is forged from steel. The blood in my veins isn’t made From soft, pretty nets of stars: Do not describe me with your pale words: lilies, roses, and sunlight. These are temporary treasures with a soft touch. I am an ironwork of needles. A simple collection of plated armor and rusting chains, grinding gears catching on dust and dirt and scars. I will walk through fire and emerge polished and sharp. I am dented and tarnished and still, Even my most damaged pieces Are built to draw blood.
“Fuck Your Soft Words"
(alternatively titled: I Was Born With An Iron Ribcage, I Am Built To Cage Myself) by theworthofhollin (via theworthofhollin)
Step one: lift your shoulders. breathe like nothing is holding you down; head high, do not look down to the blood and sweat that cakes your chest. they put you here to make you weak but you are winning this battle. Step two: don’t think about who you left behind. they are gone now, but that does not mean you should forget. hold the world in their honor, so even if you are not in their shadow you hold the ground steady when they fall. let your comfort be that with you bearing the weight of the world they will never lose their grip on it. Step three: endure. there’s nowhere to go, nothing to do but stand and bear and prove you are stronger than they ever dreamed. teach your brother the lesson of the strength it takes to never fall even when your knees buckle and your shoulders tremble and your eyes close and you just want your head to fall but you stand straighter to bear the weight of us.
how to bear the weight of the world (M.M.)
If they stand behind you, give them protection.
If they stand beside you, give them respect.
If they stand if front of you, watch their back. And if they stand against you, show them no mercy.
