I will always endorse Beatles Mike propaganda. He’s very ‘64 Beatles coded. I think he’d like a lot of the songs on A Hard Day’s Night and Beatles For Sale. The three Beatles songs I associate most with Mike are What You’re Doing, I’m A Loser, and And I Love Her. I imagine Karen might have been a bit Beatles-crazy in the 60s and Nancy and Mike would steal her records. Finn’s a George bias but I think Mike would be a John bias because he wants to be a leader.

The Tammy song is just too perfect. I heard it for the first time in a movie recently and it could help so many Byler shippers heal from the homophobic insult that is Tammy. “He’s just my Tammy” but Tammy’s in love!
Said movie with the Tammy song is actually a movie I’d recommend to Byler shippers especially fans of churchgate, the S3 movie date scene, and Dead Poets Society. It’s called The Long Day Closes (1992). The main character has both Mike AND Will coded internalized homophobia, and you’ll exercise those subtext muscles to see the very intentional hints.

I’m so glad there’s more Beatles Mike truthers!! I absolutely agree he’d be a John bias! I also would’ve loved to include another Beatles song had I not reached my audio limit on this post. I might even just make another post like this but solely for Mike! There’s so many of their songs that are so perfect for Mike. In fact I went back and forth on songs for him the most of everyone on the list. Also, Karen being obsessed with the Beatles in the 60s. I genuinely love that concept so much.
And I totally agree with you on Tammy!! Beyond the label of “Tammy”, he’s Mike Wheeler, his own person with his own feelings. He may be Tammy but as you put it, Tammy’s in love. The song encapsulates that vision perfectly I think!!

Every time I see my old posts from before volume 2 I almost feel sick thinking of how happy I was. I was so sure I’d be jealous of my future self. Instead now I’m jealous of the me that didn’t have to watch that finale. She seriously had no clue how good she had it.

So they never even had byler in the cards from the beginning? Oh that’s laughable. They wrote in a queer boy to fall in love with their self insert. They should genuinely be ashamed. They were miserable and took it out on the queer boy for his entire life. Queer people are a joke to these writers. Homophobic, racist and misogynistic writers, but what’s new?
I am a Will Byers stan before I’m a byler and I can no longer stand with the review bombing of episode 7. The episode has received the most 1-star ratings in Saudi Arabia with 68%. A notoriously homophobic country, by the way. I completely agree with other queer people in that there is real criticisms to be made about the episode but that is being drowned out by the homophobes and conservatives.
They are making jokes that Will is gay because of sexual abuse, and a lot of you guys are not only letting it slide but promoting this. If you are an ally or a queer person you will recognise how disgusting this is. Stop celebrating. In the end no side wins. Queer people are stuck with terrible representation and homophobic voices are being platformed.
