Inktober 2018, day eight: 'Star'
Just a simple one today - it was nice to bring in some colour, though.
Never really done much stargazing. Maybe in the future.

Inktober 2018, day eight: 'Star'
Just a simple one today - it was nice to bring in some colour, though.
Never really done much stargazing. Maybe in the future.
Inktober 2018, day seven: 'Exhausted'
I guess I was going for 'feeling so tired that you're falling apart'. Kinda worried that it's a little overwrought, though.
Inktober 2018, day 6: 'Drooling'
Just a quick and simple doodle today.
Juggling art and life is an ongoing struggle.
Inktober 2018, day 4: 'Spell'
Back on track.
I appreciate there's more pencil than ink in this picture, but yeah - I was enjoying the shading with the pencil drawing, so wanted to stick with it.
Kinda wanted to play around with the light source, and how that would affect the shading as well.
Indeed though, it is kinda faint...
Inktober 2018, day 5: 'Chicken'
Wait, what happened to day four?
I'll tell you what - I misread the prompts, and thought 'Chicken' was for day four... Oops.
Well, it just means that the actual prompt for today will come tomorrow.
It was fun bringing these two back from yesterday.
Inktober 2018, day 3: 'Roasted'
This was fun. I had art class this morning, so didn't have as much time to dedicate to this.
Still, it was fun playing around with a note cartoony style.
Inktober 2018, day 2: 'Tranquil'.
Any excuse to draw a red panda. I do love how chill they look in trees. They're a good place to be, for sure.
Used liquid Indian ink for the colouring here. I'm not quite used to it, and it feels odd to colour something so vibrant in a colour that is less so, but I had fun.
Inktober 2018, day one: 'Poisonous'
A poisonous drink, or a poisonous relationship with the drink? One or the other, I suppose.
I enjoyed playing with perspective here, but really struggled with knowing how to shade in a pleasing way with ink. More reason to get on this.
I'm not sure if I'll have the time to do all of the prompts this year, but I'll certainly try my best.
Oh, hey. It's this dude again.
He's come a long way over the past year, and it's an odd feeling looking back at his design from the first post I made here. If I have the time, I'll redraw that picture again.
I really do enjoy drawing Sweep; it helps me to de-stress, and I am fond of him.
I started going to an art class last week, and the teacher said I should try drawing bigger, as I generally work fairly small.
They recommended giving portraits a go - I found them a bit frustrating at first, but I enjoyed these two that I did recently.
I went back and re-drew a picture of an eye I did some months back today. Though perhaps only slight, I'm really happy to see that I've managed to make some progress; it's a wonderful feeling.
Noses. Take your pick. Haha. Get it? Nose, pick? ...I'll see myself out. Also, I finished my first sketchbook ever the other day. It was a really pleasant feeling.
Sketchbook shenanigans. I've been playing around with textures as of late; the reflective ones were challenging, but fun, and I learnt a lot. I've been drawing more faces and figures as well recently. They never quite turn out how I had in mind, though.
I've been struggling with life in general as of late, and I've not been as disciplined with drawing regularly. I figured it might help to draw some things that I like, so I practiced drawing Red Pandas in three different ways. Only two pictured here though, as the watercolour attempt was... Well, it certainly needs more work (along with everything else, of course).
I’ve been feeling burnt-out and stressed due to work and life as of late. Too many people who feel entitled to take and/or waste the little free time I have, and other such pleasantries.
It had an effect on my motivation to draw, but I sat myself down today to finish something I started a little while back. Some fanart of @pokemon-fd’s Trace and the tailor (sorry… I don’t know their name).
I wanted to thank them as well, for being a source of inspiration and motivation; to strive onwards and keep applying oneself in the best way possible. Thank you for setting such a good example. Of course, if you’re not comfortable with me posting this, I understand and apologise, and will take it down.
Feels good to be back.
My handstand teacher told me something once when he was running through how he practices.
He said there would be good days where you’d be itching to practice, but that there would also be days when you’d want to do anything but. On those days, “do the fucking numbers”, and then leave. Go do something else.
Today was one of those days for me. I’ve been working on two point perspective a lot recently, and it’s culminated in the above picture. I’m not too happy with it, but at least I can say I did the fucking numbers.
I’m sure my teacher would be happy if he knew I got up to this malarkey.
Some one point perspective practice, done over the past two days.
Super fun to do, but scenery drawing still takes me an eternity...
