have rooms i designed for team kindness :3 first one is Isagi's, then Nanase's and lastly Hiori's !
they are for a "project" that's basically them moving in together, and these, yeah, are their bedrooms !
long asf explanation plus WIP process under the cut
okay so
the project in itself is a fanfiction. A fanfiction that I still want to write, so I'll try to make this "spoiler-free" lmfao, but it's inspired by it would be amazing, precisely, the "implusive idea" team kindness has to buy a random apartment and go and live there together.
these are floor plans / perspectives of the house. the actual house they want to buy and how they would want to furnish it :3
now. im a person who hates research but loves it at the same time. i wanna often be precise with what i do, even if it's all "background work" the reader wouldn't know about. this to say that this specific floor plan is real. the positions of the room/general spacial design of the floor plan are of an actual, real singular house in Kanagawa that i found on a Japanese Real Estate site. ong.
also ! all the furniture is also real ! from the Japanese furniture shop "Nitori", that, from what I understand, is the equivalent of the Europen Ikea, or, well, the point is that one: showrooms and furniture, with less funny names from what i can see lol
I started actively working on the drawings of the whole project a month ago (some days more. just checked. damn), and quickly found out it was gonna be a looong process... (not even that long, but im not used to working for more than a few days on something lol)
The basics, so, the metrics of the singular rooms, are an estimate based on their areas. Ah. i found out in JP they have their own metric system ? For official floor plans, at least, but in gen (skimmed wikipedia) yeah, they've got their own stuff
[all i know is that 1帖 (1畳 - 畳 is the kanji i see around in explanations about JP area measurement units. no idk why on the floor plan it says 帖) is about 1,635m^2].
So, i estimated the areas in meters squared and based on that i winged the length the walls of the rooms (literally like: "uh, this room is 11m^2. and it's almost a square. so one wall is less than 3,3m and one is a bit more. but how much ?........ " and so on)
comparison between the real floor plan and my messy sketch with measures
could be worse. i like it. my sketch was w/o actual rulers or anything, so proportions might be a bit off. Ah, the northen room (7.0帖) is Hiori's, the room on the same balcony of Hiori's is Nanase's (8.1帖), and Isagi's room is the last big room (6.5帖). they apparently all have walk-in closets. good for them
[parenthesis: this is the first floor, so, night + restroom. there is a ground floor, with "entrance corridor", bathroom+restroom, kitchen and living room and small tatami corner. that. uh. i probably for now will not draw. i will see. this was draining (and fun!!! but draining) enough)]
so, this is the draft (and also final lol) of the bedrooms floor, with furnitures !
It took me ages to find all the furniture and their measurements and redraw them in a way that made sense, but i had a lot, a lot of fun ! fr, i am really proud of this whole deal :D
First room I tried to draw the perspective of was Isagi's. Plan was a two-point perspective, because that is how i've done other perspectives in the past. Started with the singula room and its kinda orthogonal projection-
placed the thingie for the perspective and got my ass absolutely beaten because i haven't drawn a two-point perspective in 3+ years and i. do not remember how to do it. at all.
so this happened
and i did not like that the wall was gonna cut off a lot of the room anyway. and i didn't know what to do. my mum suggested a one-point perspective, and i got saved lol. the result is the one before the cut !
:D
and yeah, repeated for Nanase's room-
And Hiori's-
and got them rooms that are very very lifeless because i am tired. and hiori's got no chair cause he can fuck off. his legs are too long anyway. he can sit on the bed and play his lil videogames from the bed. (he does have the chair. it was gonna be very messy to draw and i was tired today and just wanted to ink the page rip)
that's it. im happy. that's all :3 have a good day, if you read this all i love you and i appreciate you <3
