Ok things I have learned about the campsite(no amiibo!) so you dont have to make the same mistakes I did:
-your very first camper will stay until you invite them. Sorry.
-after that, it is random when people show up and who shows up (unless you have amiibos, which I currently do not)
- it can take several weeks for a new camper to show up if you have a full island
- they will not automatically say yes to being invited to stay. In fact they usually say no a a couple times when you ask. Often they want to play a completely random card 'game' where you are basically jusy guess what card they are holding at random.
-it doesnt really matter if you lose, you can play again.
- if you just keep talking to them the move in ask prompt will reappear as many times as it takes for them to say yes/you to win the game of chance.
- i lost del b/c i assumed once they said 'no' a couple of times they would always say it - not true! Be persistent!
-if your island already has 10 residents you can still move a camper in!
- once you talk to the camper enough to convince them (can take a WHILE) to move in, they go talk to resident services, and finds out the island is full, then prompts you if you know whether somebody is leaving. If you say yes, they will pick a villager AT RANDOM
- if you dont like who they picked you can quit the game from home and try again!
- they CAN pick your most recent move-in!! Making this the only way to move your newest villager out without amiibos!
- villager they pick is ->immediately<- in boxes after you accept (same day, as soon as you exit the tent), so DO NOT finish the conversation with the camper in the tent affirmatively if they picked somebody you want to keep, or plan ahead if you are trading villagers! (Dont finish the convo at all if you want another chance to pick someone else, homequit immediately and try again)
