concept: instead of hedwig, Harry goes into the pet store and this little snake in the back of the store talks to him, obviously gets his attention more than the other animals, and harry feels sorry for it so he takes it home. Then the snake helps Harry throughout his years at hogwarts as harry carries it wrapped around his hand all like “pssssst, haaarryyy, the dark lord isss coming sss” or just petty shit like “haaaarrryy, now is the time, assskkk out cho chaaannngg”

Is this a kind of ticker tape?

So I was talking to my friend the other day about synesthesia and he mentioned to me that when he looks at objects the name of it appears on that object and he was wondering if that was a kind of synesthesia. He also said it was unconscious, and that the color of the words is usually translucent and more often than not it’s white, that it fades if he looks at the object for a long time, and that the font of the words changed depending on the object. This sounds kind of similar to ticker tape to me but I couldn’t find anything conclusive about it when I looked it up. Please reblog with any thoughts!

I’m about to cry. My 60 year old mother watched a netflix documentary and only just now found out she’s asexual. I’ve been trying to figure out how to bring up this idea to her for years. I am so glad to hear her, she’s so happy and saying “there really is nothing wrong with me!” I didn’t realize it wore on her like that. God bless the internet.
